Sandsend Pavilion offers stylish comfortable accommodation for up to 10 people in 5 double bedrooms (3 doubles and 2 twin rooms) all with sea views and with 3 ensuite shower rooms and a further 2 bath/shower rooms. The house was formerly the home of Sandsend Tennis Club and with its large sea-facing patio and tennis court size lawn it's easy to imagine its past history. The glorious Sandsend beach stretching 2 miles' to Whitby at low tide is only 100 metres' walk from the house and with two ground floor bedrooms, one with its own specially designed wetroom suitable for disabled as well as able-bodied guests the Pavilion is the perfect large holiday house whether you're celebrating a family get-together, birthday or friends' reunion. The house also has the benefit of up to 4 dedicated parking places, a Sky Sports and Entertainment package via large flat screen TV in living room and broadband access with all power and fuel included and towels supplied. One well behaved dog welcome by prior arrangement (small charge).

We also enjoy a walk to Whitby along the beach (when the tide's out of course!). It's about 40-45 minutes usually and you can always get the bus back if you don't fancy the return. I do hope you'll be able to visit us again in the future.

“Disappointed”

A great location but the house smelled stale and wasn’t very clean. I took it up with the owner and was told it was because it was the end of a busy season. Unacceptable in my opinion.

Response from the owner I am very sorry you were disappointed in your stay at the house but I have to say a 2 star review is a disproportionate and unfair picture of our email correspondence. I always check with guests after their stay and you told me you'd had a 'lovely week' but mentioned 2 issues which were some stains on doors and paintwork and a smell of fried food which had lingered in the house probably as you yourself suggested from the guest leaving that morning having had a fried breakfast prior to departure (which is unfortunate but beyond our control). My actual reply to you was as follows and I quote: 'I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay but sincerely apologise that some aspects of the house were not up to scratch. Unfortunately your visit comes at the end of a long season of back to back visitors and from your photos and comments I can see that the doors and paintwork have been overlooked which shouldn’t happen but may explain why. I will take this up with our cleaners'. As you didn't contact me during your stay with any complaints to allow us to rectify any issues at the time it's surprising and disappointing to me that you feel the above justifies a 2 star review. We take any guest complaint or suggestion very seriously and try very hard to maintain the house to a high standard which is probably why so many of our guests choose to return.
