Description
This property is a two bedroom barn conversion situated at Harwood Dale on the outskirts of Scarborough. It has retained many of its original features, oozing charm and character with beamed ceilings and a warm cosy inviting feel throughout. It is located in the National Park on a working farm and is an ideal location for walking and cycling enthusiasts, or for exploring the stunning North Yorkshire Moors or the Heritage Coast. The bustling seaside resort of Scarborough is within easy driving distance and the property is also within very easy reach of Whitby and Pickering. We have two other cottages on site so please contact if multiple cottages are required for a larger party booking.
Lots to see and do locally. Harwood Dale is surrounded by outstanding countryside without being miles away from civilisation. Scarborough has beautiful beaches and plenty to do including the theatre. Whitby and Pickering are very easily accessible and there are several quaint fishing villages to explore including Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby. North Yorks Moors railway and Dalby Forest are within close proximity with excellent cycling and of course 'Go Ape' for those looking for something more adventurous to do.
The cottage itself is one of three at this particular site. Batty Barn, Swallows Nest and Bramble Cottage are all detached properties set on a working farm. The farm has cattle, sheep and chickens on site. Free range chickens roam round part of the farm yard area and we have approximately 150 acres where the stock is put out to grazing at various times throughout the year.

“A little gem”

A lovely barn fully equipped very clean, as all the kitchen appliances u need on a beautiful farm the kids loved it and made friends with the cows and chickens, we would stay there again, lots of beautiful views

“A Delightful Cosy Barn”
It was our first time in Batty Barn and we loved it. It is so well equipped and to such a high standard. The kitchen is to die for and would be amazing in any home! It is very central for all the Scarborough amenities, including Alpamare Water Park (which our grandchildren loved of course), as well as Whitby and surrounding areas. We were unfortunate with the weather, 3 days of mist and fog, but it didn’t detract from our stay thankfully. However, had the weather been better I would like to have known that the gorgeous views sadly, are not visible from this barn but can be seen from the other 2 properties on site. The ‘welcome pack’ of fresh eggs and fruit was a lovely touch - we had a delightful fresh fruit salad Thank you Phil and Angela, you provided us with great ‘home comforts.’

“Batty barn”
An absolutely beautiful property with gorgeous surroundings. The property was ready for arrival with fresh fruit and eggs left for us (these were lovely too). Beds were very comfy and the second bedroom was a lot bigger than expected! The photos on internet do not do the property justice in the slightest! A home from home! We will most definitely be back in the near future!
