Description

The Old Coach House is set in the gardens of a lovely family home in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Only 2 miles from Guildford with its mainline train service to London (35minutes). Shalford is a quintessentially English village complete with cricket pitch, village store, coffee shop, post office, train station, post office and a handful of good pubs and restaurants.

Totally refurbished in Spring 2021 the cottage itself is ideal for a couple but does have a sofa bed downstairs if required for additional guests. **

The sitting room has a wood burner for chilly winter evenings and the conservatory with dining area is gorgeous on warm, sunny days. Guests also have access to their own private patio area off the conservatory, with outside seating and a BBQ.

The house has good WiFi and a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The accommodation has its own kitchen with oven, microwave, Nespresso machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The bedroom is upstairs with king size bed (restricted ceiling height in places as it is in the roof), an en-suite shower room and lovely views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

The Old Coach House is set the gardens of the family house and the owners are more than happy for you to enjoy the gardens with them. They have three children and two golden retrievers. There is plenty of parking too. The owners are at home most of the time to answer any questions you may have or offer advice about the local area.

“Dog-friendly weekend break”

Thanks for a lovely stay. The cottage was perfect for our needs; it was clean, cosy, nicely decorated, well equipped, and easy to locate/ check in. We had lovely weather, so we particularly enjoyed having the conservatory and the patio area to relax in. Our hosts were friendly and Amanda was very quick to confirm the booking and to give us the information we needed before our arrival. They were also kind enough to be flexible on check out time, since they were headed out for the day themselves. We loved meeting their dogs, and our English setter had a wonderful time running round their huge back garden. Thanks again, and we’d happily return the next time we are in the area.

“Beautiful cosy cottage”

I stayed at this lovely cottage for 3 weeks. The outlook from the conservatory is beautiful Surrey countryside, but you can walk to the shops in Salford, and Guildford is a short drive away. The cottage is well maintained, warm and very well equipped. The conservatory was a real bonus. The Owner and her family are welcoming and very helpful. I am hoping the cottage is not booked for my next visit to England!

“Surrey Stay”

Had a wonderful stay at Findon Lodge. The cottage has everything you need and more. Loved the outdoor space as well as the conservatory. The local amenities are great. Fantastic walks and easy to get to London on the train.
