Alfie's Cottage is a one bedroom ensuite cottage on a property bordering the Helderberg Nature Reserve in one of the oldest areas of Somerset West. Ideal for holidaymakers wanting to relax, walk and soak up the magnificent views and countryside whilst being ideally located for the most loved wine farms in Somerset West as well as the many restaurants, beaches, golf courses and shops the area has to offer.

Getting around

A car is definitely recommended but Uber is available for those wine tastings or trips to the airport should you need it.

Interaction with guest

We love interacting with our guests but the beauty of Alfie's Cottage is that it is a home from home and you also have your own private space. We love sharing tips with guests and advising them on what they can do to get the most out of our surrounding areas. We are around most of the time but occassionally are away on weekends. We have a fantastic security system and 24 hour security patrols that give guests peace of mind if we are away.

“Back to nature”

Most enjoyable stay. We used to live in the neighbourhood many years ago, so it was sort of being back home. The cottage is very centrally located but a car is essential.

Why can't I call Jen (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jen (the owner) a message.

If Jen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
