“Peace & Tranquility” I have stayed here 4+ times, and I come home relaxed and rejuvenated. It's centrally located in the middle of the western cape, the sunsets are perfect, we usually have meals out on the expansive deck, we bring our kayaks, watch the shipping entering the canal, walk/run/bike the canal path(both sides), cook or grill fresh seafood from local stores, enjoy the wine tastings at the Belfry, jump over to the vineyard for the day, and did I mention the sunsets? The home is roomy, light and airy, plenty of parking, just perfect for us.

About Bourne

With miles of beaches and rolling waves, rows of art galleries, and restaurants serving up the freshest New England seafood, the Cape Cod town of Bourne has it all! Eat locally caught fish at one of the restaurants scattered along Buzzards Bay, or hit the high-end boutique shops centered on Main Street.

Be sure to check out these local attractions and destinations as well:

  • Aptucxet Trading Post Museum: Dating back almost 400 years, these gardens are filled with wildflowers and several historical exhibits.
  • National Marine Life Center: Learn more about the local marine life through a regularly rotating calendar of exhibits and displays here.
  • Watch a Baseball Game: The Bourne Braves are the local team competing in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
  • Sagamore Bridge: One of the many bridges in the area, head to this local landmark for amazing views of the Cape Cod Canal.
  • Go Hiking: The Bournedale Hills Trail offers a guided 1.5 mile loop that covers the Canal's historic and natural features.
  • Go to the Beach: Monument Beach and Gray Gables Beach are just two of the many popular beaches in the area.

There is a wide range of events that take place throughout Bourne every year. The biggest festival in Bourne is the Bourne Scallop Festival in September, a four-day event with specialty foods, an arts and crafts show, and a Home Expo show. There are plenty of other major events to check out in the nearby areas as well. Cheer on the rowers competing at the Head of the Charles Regatta in October, or watch demonstrations of basket making and blacksmithing at the County Fair and Craft Festival in Hancock Shaker Village every October.

There are plenty of vacation rentals available in Bourne that meet the needs of all ages and budgets. Select a property such as a luxury condo just steps from the beach and all the water attractions in the area, or a trendy apartment near all the boutique shopping and restaurants. For more budget conscious travelers, there are plenty of spacious villas big enough for large groups to share that are filled with modern amenities and all the comforts at home.

AFFORDABLE WATER VIEW Cape Cod
Awesome location for the beach; beautiful views from inside the cottage.

If you want to be close to a quiet beach this is it! Walk to and from - laze away the days watching the duck families, gulls, little crabs popping out of their holes, calm water [very warm]. Less than 5 minutes away is a great breakfast place - also a 'country market' for necessities is very close. The cottage itself boasts a beautiful, cozy main living area and 1 1/2 baths. The bathrooms are small but functional. The only downside is the 2 bedrooms; one queen and 1 twin. Additional sleeping on the converted sunporch but the cots are narrow and daughter who slept there for the week said she had a backache by day 3. Though there was a beautiful breeze outside it did not come in. The windows are large sliders but we were there during a humid, humid hot week. AC in the living area kept that cool but I hated the noise [just me]. Had to sleep with loud fan nightly. That may not be the case at other times. When at the cottage we spent a lot of time on the outside patio. It was lovely with flowers and chirping birds. There was a gas grill, a table w/umbrella and 4 chairs; quite comfortable and pretty. The step down to the patio area was a problem for us but that was due to physical issues. Cottage is clean, furniture is comfortable, surroundings are lovely.see more
Waterfront home - Spectacular Sunsets
Gorgeous location

The house had fabulous views from nearly every room with delightful breezes throughout. It is well laid out with a very generous wrap-around porch arranged for leisurely relaxing or a dinner for family and friends...all while enjoying the wonderful views of the bay. In the morning the light off the water provides a lovely way to wake. There is a private sandy beach that is perfect for children or adults who would like to take a swim in the calm waters. A beautifully manicured lawn provides a lovely place for play, and just across the street is a public tennis court. The house is very comfortable, nicely decorated and perfectly maintained. The location, soon after going over the Bourne Bridge, made for an easy drive, while still being very accessible to all the Cape has to offer...historic sites, boating, golf, shopping and many other activities. The owners were very helpful and responsive when getting everything arranged. We highly recommend this lovely home for all types of gatherings. And don't miss a stop at the Lobster Trap which you will pass on the way, for a casual meal overlooking the local swimming hole, or to purchase seafood for dinner at the house.see more
343 Phillips Rd
Great vacation spot!

The home is small but nicely appointed. The location is incredible! Faults: Cable wasn't working upon arrival. Had to wait until Monday. House could be better vaccummed and floors cleaned. Walkway to the beach had broken boards. Kitchen has too much stuff in all the cabinets and drawers. There was no where to put food items we had brought. An umbrella for the table on the waterside would be nice. Pluses: Location! Great short walk to the beach. House was tastefully done. Outdoor shower and washer and dryer are great!!see more
