Description
Pilgrims cottage is a traditional flint Norfolk cottage built around 1700. Located in the small rural village of Stanhoe, less than 2 miles from the popular village of Burnham Market, it maintains many original features, such as beamed ceilings and a large open fireplace. The cottage and accommodation are rated 3* by Visit England. The cottage sleeps 4 in bedrooms with an optional Z bed for a 5th guest.
Only a short drive from Burnham Market, Brancaster, Holkham Hall, Sandringham, the RSPB bird sanctuaries of Titchwell/ Snettisham as well as the incomparable beauty of the coast and beaches of North Norfolk, Pilgrim's makes for an excellent base for a family holiday or a romantic break from city life. The cottage is located in the heart of the village, which includes a gastro/ country pub ( the Duck Inn) serving delicious home cooked food, as featured in the Michelin guide, and also a traditional duck pond and church with the village being surrounded by open fields. There is a large playground and recreation field within a minutes walk of the cottage enabling any small guests the chance to burn off any excess energy, outside of the cottage's garden. All the village amenities are within a 2 minute walk so you can enjoy an evening meal in the pub and a few drinks without the need to drive or stay in and enjoy the open log fire.
The house is furnished in a cottage style with pine furniture and comfortable sofas, fully fitted kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine. To the rear there is a small sunny patio area, with teak outdoor furniture, which is fully enclosed and provides off road parking for 2 cars.
Pilgrims' retains the original features and charm of a period cottage, coupled with all the facilities one needs for a relaxed holiday exploring the local area.

“Trip to Norfolk”
This cottage was ideally located for trips to Holkham, Wells Next The Sea and Hunstanton. We were no more than 10/15mins drive away from either location. As a family of 4 we stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. We would recommend The Hero pub for food.

“Just right”
I took my 3 young children on a short seaside break. The cottage was just right for us . Well equipped kitchen making meal times easy and next to the living room so they could play whilst dinner cooked or I got ready for our day out The village play park a very short walk away was also great for a before bedtime run around. 15mins drive from the beach so very convenient . Near Burnham market too for fish & chips or a nice stroll round.

“Good location for northwest Norfolk.”
Good location for both coast and countryside with a lot to see. Excellent pub in village. Cottage ok but dated decor made it feel a bit dingy. New curtains and bedding would make a difference. Bed was comfortable.Parking for 2 cars? Possibly but with difficulty. Everything was ok but it all just needed a bit of a lift.

“Pilgrim's Cottage, Stanhoe, Norfolk”
Stanhoe, Norfolk. A small village with one pub and a pretty duck pond. The nearest shop is in Docking just over 2 miles away. It is in a good location for cycling and the coast. The cottage has a very good sized sitting room with two comfortable sofas and an arnchair. It is a bit dark as many old cottages are. The decor is OK but tends to add to the overall 'dark' feel and the curtains in the main bedroom were coming off the runners. The cottage has no wi fi. We believed we would just be able to pay for a week of BT Zone but we found that it still would not work because there is no hot spot in the area. Even the 'phone signal was unreliable and the freeview TV failed several times. The kitchen was quite well equipped with a good oven and microwave. Could have done with a few more mugs - five were supplied in a house which slept five people. Unfortunately, the dishwasher was only half size and dinner plates did not fit in. We did most of the washing-up up by hand. The cottage has one bath/shower with a toilet. Beds were comfortable. The parking area was very tight and it would have been near impossible to accommodate two cars.
