“Utopia exists in Zanzibar and it is Turquoise.” We had a remarkable 10 days at Villa Turquoise. We were three couples accomodated in luxury with room to accomodate more. The location on the Indian Ocean is prime, with long private frontage and miles of beach walking in either direction. The grounds are immaculate, the service superb and the food wonderful. The off shore snorkeling exceeded anything I have seen and that includes many tropical areas in the world. If you go you will be pleased and your friends envious.

“An idyllic setting, a feast for all the senses, a true gem in Za” Saffron Beach Villa is a real gem on the East Coast of Zanzibar. It was my first time on the island, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but staying in this beautiful villa certainly played a big role in making my short holiday an unforgettable experience. It was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated in authentic local style, with awesome views of the ocean and the beach, which was just a few steps away. The staff - Gerard, Abede the chef, Ana and Muhu - were at all times very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. The villa offers enough privacy to chill and relax on one's own, but I also spent much time at the very charming Crazy Mzungo's beach lounge next door. Of course I could not resist abede's delectable dishes! My primary aim was to unwind and relax, and in this regard, Saffron Beach Villa met all my expectations. I couldn't have asked for more and was very reluctant to leave. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any of my friends and acquaintances wanting to visit Zanzibar. A huge asante sana to Matt and Michelle and all the staff - I will most definitely be back!!

Why Tanzania?

Tanzania is home to one of the largest wild animal populations in the world, and the possibilities for safari and wildlife watching here are second to none. Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar are must see locations and the National Parks here are famous. With the opportunity to spot wildebeest, lions and cheetahs, Tanzania offers a unique chance to observe Africa’s wildlife.

Definitely a "feel-good" experience - to be repeated in future

We had the most wonderful time during our stay at Saffron Villa. Accommodation was excellent - we slept like babies with a sea-breeze cooling us - waking up to catch an early morning swim a couple of steps from our patio. Always a nice hot shower in neat and tidy bathrooms. The friendly staff had us feeling extremely pampered and spoil't. With the villa located on the beach, we could settle for just enjoying the tranquil scene and wonderful meals, early morning and sunset swims, walks on the beach and simply just relaxing, but the staff organized some nice excursions for us. So... all in all a very peaceful and special vacation amongst friendly locals. The best part - everything!see more
Luxurious fully Serviced Beach Villa in Zanzibar
Dreamy

Villa Turquoise is a stunning home approximately forty-five minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of Stone Town. Situated on beautiful Matemwe Beach, it is a lofty Swahili Style Villa designed for comfort. Six of us stayed at the villa for ten days leading up to my wedding. Apart from getting married in Zanzibar, our stay at Villa Turquoise was the highlight of our trip. The villa is spacious, spotless and extremely well run. The staff and the chef were amazing. We opted to purchase our groceries and have the chef prepare our meals. He cooked delicious Swahili style cuisine using aromatic spice combinations that excited our taste buds and had us dreaming of his next creation. We used the boat twice to go snorkelling. The water was crystal clear so we saw lots of marine life. After snorkelling we were lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphin and we cruised along with them for quite a while. Most of our days were spent lounging by the pool, walking along the beach and swimming in the pristine turquoise ocean waters. Unlike the busier beaches on Zanzibar, Matemwe beach is relatively free of vendors pedalling their wears, so you aren't hassled or pressured to buy anything. I would recommend Villa Turquoise without hesitation. It is suitable for anyone looking to relax and soak up the African sun and feel the warmth of a salty breeze.see more
