Description
Some say that on a sunny day roman soldiers were having a picnic in one of the valleys very close to what we now call Todi, when an eagle stole the towel on which they were eating. It is said that this eagle dropped it on top of a high hill, and there the romans built Todi.
As we value Todi's history a lot, we have a wall painting in the lunch room which illustrates the town's legend.
The apartment is situated in Todi's main street which is called Corso Matteotti. It is located in an ancient building, which dates back to 1300. It belonged to the Ortenzi marquise family which restored it according to the 19th century style. Their family's crest is still on the doors' frames.
The apartment opens up with a spacious living room, enriched by a very large (working) chimney. The house has three bedrooms two of which are double bedrooms and have their own bathrooms. The third is accessible by a lovely wooden staircase and it has two single beds. There is also a very big kitchen, perfectly furnished with dishwasher. The kitchen leads to an equipped internal terrace, lovely for lunch and breakfast on sunny days. There is also a separate dining room, in which the seventh bed can be added if needed. Also, there are two balconies and several antique windows. The flooring is made of "cotto toscano" and most of the doors are originals from the 18th century. All the furnishing has been chosen in order to harmonize the antique flavor of both, the building and the historical town.
The apartment is equipped with a very efficient heating system and washing machine.
