Description
La Baguette is an 18th Century boulangerie, tastefully renovated with quality furnishings. In a peaceful location yet only four miles from the vibrant town of Villedieu-les-Poeles and one mile from the nearest bar/ shop for your morning croissants - bicycles are provided for an energetic start to your day if required!
The property is located in the heart of Normandy countryside yet is only 20 minutes from the nearest beach at Brehal, and 25 minutes from Granville (the birthplace of Christian Dior) and ferries for day trips to the Channel Islands. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind yet still be close to bars, restaurants, historic places and of course the Normandy landing beaches. Bayeux and Mont St Michel are within an hours drive, as are the ports of Caen and Cherbourg and an hour and a quarter to the nearest airport at
Dinard.
The property has been recently renovated to a high standard . Oak furniture, leather sofa and footstool and Laura Ashley soft furnishings throughout. The bedroom is vaulted and beamed and the king size bed has a very comfortable mattress. A hairdryer is provided. The lounge area has a comfortable seating arrangement and satellite TV is available as well as free wireless broadband and an iPod dock. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who like to cook whilst away!
La Baguette has its own private garden securely fenced for any well behaved four legged friends. Here we hope you will enjoy dining al fresco, watching the beautiful sunsets or reclining in the sun. There are walks from the property that will take you to the fishing lake. Cows outnumber neighbours and the occasional passing tractors will outnumber cars!
The nearest supermarket is four miles away in Garvey and it has a petrol station and a car wash. A post office can be found both in Gavray and Villedieu-les-Poeles.
We can supply a cot and high chair upon request but please bring your own cot bedding.
The property is festively decorated for those who wish to visit during Christmas and New Year.

“Very nice holiday gite”
We had a lovely stay at La Baguette. It is very well located and fitted out and ideal for a couple. The owners were very helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend this place and would stay again without hesitation. Thank-you.
