Description from the manager
The views from its sea facing veranda and the pool area are stunning and there is a private terrace area and gardens surrounding the pool to one side of the property.
The village of Stavros with its beautiful sand beaches is just over a twenty five minutes walk away and the nearest taverna is closer as is the local mini-market. The village has three tavernas but as you drive towards Chania town, you pass many more. Chania is a fascinating old Venetian town where you can spend hours just roaming the back streets, it is a shoppers paradise and there is an endless range of interesting restaurants and shops everywhere.

Additional Location Information
Stavros is well-known for its beautiful sandy beaches and the clean, blue sea. It is actually a small bay and a long sandy beach next to it.
The area of Stavros consists of a scattering of holiday accommodation and some private villas, but generally it remains beautifully quiet. A couple of tavernas are close by and a few more as you head out to Stavros in one direction or Kalathas in the opposite direction.
The beach at Kalathas is sandy and some water sports are also available. One or two small grocery shops are in the area but there are many more shops and restaurants in and around the seaside villages in the peninsular. A car opens up further options to explore this fascinating area of Crete.
The contrasting terrain is almost endless, with vineyards and melon fields, to traditional villages and fishing harbours. At the northern tip and only a four minute drive from your accommodation you will reach Stavros beach area where 'Zorbas' mountain dominates a glorious white sandy beach which is shallow and safe for children. Stavros had been used as the location for the film Zorba the Greek as it represented the archetypal sleepy fishing village. More information about Stavros here in www.chania-vacation.com/crete/

LuxembourgA great getaway villa
Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This Villa was recommend to us by friends as an idyllic getaway in Crete. They were absolutely right! Wonderful Villa with everything you need for a fantastic vacation. Just the two of us stayed in the Villa but there is room for 6 people Breathtaking sunsets, close to beaches (with a car) and a pool to relax in. Lovely and very helpful owners. Service by the owners was great from the first contact onward. We left the Villa with one thought in mind - "How soon can we come back!"

We had a wonderful week at Villa Clio.
Everything was just perfect. Stunning sea view. Very romantic to see the sun go down over the sea every night. Fantastic pool. Extremely clean and excellent service from the owner.
We really did not want to leave the place at all to go to Chania or the nearby most wonderful beaches of Crete.
We are already dreaming of coming back.

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Villa Clio is a comfortable Cretan villa near Stavros in the akrotiri area of Crete. The location is perfect - 3 other lovely villas nearby. These were unoccupied the week we were there so we felt we had the whole place to ourselves along with all the cat neighbors. Lovely views from the terrace. The pool was fantastic. Extremely clean. Excellent rates. The owner made us feel very welcome - provided us with a welcome pack too. Nearby is the Sun Set restaurant recommended by the owner for good Greek food. It was wonderful. Wish we were still there.

We didn't actually stay in the Villa Clio but in the villa next door owned by the same people, it apparently has the same layout.
The location as far as the view and peace and quiet are concerned is excellent!
The villas are layed out well as you feel that you're not over looked at all.
Everything was finished to a high standard and it was very clean and spacious.
The view out to the sea was fantastic!
The owner met us from the airport along with a hire car that they had organised for us and we followed her back to the villa. This made the arrival very stress free.
The owner was extremely helpful and around at anytime we needed anything even offering us a lift to the local town.
The local information that was given to us there was great!
You will need to hire a car as nothing is close enough to walk to. Having said that because of how lovely the location is we spent most evenings at the villa. Beaches and supermarkets are only a short drive away as well as some lovely places to eat.
If you would like to have the weather and beaches at peak holiday time in an area that doesn't feel overcrowded i would definiltely recommed that you stay here.
All in all we didn't want to leave and will definitely be going back and will stay in either villa. -

We had a lovely time at Villa Clio in October 2010. The villa was very very well maintained with all the facilities you could wish for. The owner met us at the airport and drove us to the apartment. We had a hire car. Something you will need as the apartment is nice and secluded. The swimming pool was great for the kids so much so that they preferred it to the sea. The apartment was cleaned and the bed linen changed in the middle of our one week stay. Although you can't swim in the sea next to the villa the view was great. Chania is a lovely port but a bit of a maze to get out of. If we choose Crete again we would definitely go back to Villa Clio.

Left on 10/26/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Villa Clio. The Villa was clean, spacious and well appointed and the location quiet with wonderful sea views. We travelled there with our two daughters aged 5 and 3 and the pool was perfect for them. There is a shallow, partially shielded section at one end which is very safe for small children. The owner was charming and very helpful during our stay. We were even met at the airport and guided to the Villa in the dark.

VersaillesBlue Sea, White mountains, Hot sun and Villa Clio the real dream
Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in August 2010
For our first trip in Crete (we come from France), the 2 weeks we spent in Stavros have been a complete success.
The Villa Clio is a modern and very quiet villa on top of a hill with a splendid 180° view over the sea.
Chania (harbor, old town, market place), Elafonisi (caraibean beaches) , Gramvousa (pirates island), Balos (shallow water laguna), Samaria (canyon and pebbly beach) and so many others ... are wonderfull must see places not so far from the villa.
Don't forget to have fun in Limnoupolis, a amazing familly water park in Chania outskirts.
All the people in Stravros and everywhere we went have been really delightful.
These few lines are not enough to describe the pleasure we took during these two weeks in Villa Clio.
We'll surely go back there with our children (8, 15 and 20 years old) next year. -

Left on 08/01/2010 for a stay in June 2010
The location for us was perfect. Rural enough to be quite, but close enough to anything we needed so nothing to worry about. We loved the house and pool, and the neighbors were wonderful. We were taken care of by the land lords in the Greek style as if we were family. I have been to Greece many times, but this was my first to Crete, and it was a trip to remember. It doesn't matter if you want a night on the town or a quiet day at a local beach and taverna, it is all close by, but far enough away you can leave your windows open at night and not be awakened. We loved it so much we are considering a return trip to see the rest of Crete.

Vlamis apartments are very well situated in Stavros, between see and mountains, a place very quiet with helpfuls and kindly owners. The apartments are furnished with greek furnitures and all the necessary in kitchen and bathroom. A beautiful swimmingpool with sea-water always clean, not dangerous for children (you can swim in the sea if you want because sea is 20m further). You are not far from the town of Chania. Many walking place (feet, bicycle, car).
It's so pleasant that we went during 8 years, and every year there is news improvments. And I hope return. A very good quality/price.

Left on 04/11/2010 for a stay in October 2009
We have been staying in Vlamis apartments each October for the past 4
years. The location is ideal; at the edge of the sea & only a few minutes
drive from our favourite beach at Stavros Bay. The apartments are spotlessly
clean & have been recently modernised with new kitchen & bathroom, &
television. The pool & gardens are also well maintained. Although there are
other properties & a hotel nearby, the location is peaceful - give or take the
odd 'plane flying over from Souda Bay (but as we live near Gatwick that
doesn't bother us!). There are several small supermarkets in the vicinity &
it's only a short drive to the nearest town for some serious stocking-up.
The fascinating town of Chania is not far away & there are plenty of
interesting places to visit if you can tear yourself away from the pool &
beach. We love to sit on the terrace in the evening, sipping an aperitif &
watching the amazing sunset & the little fishing boats puttering to & fro. In
the morning I sit & watch the sun come up over the sea & mountains & just
listen to the sound of the waves - bliss.
The kitchen amenities are good, with a large 'fridge & a small cooker which
is fine for cooking the odd meal, though there are plenty of places to eat
out. All the local beaches have beach bars & tavernas; our favourite place
for lunch is Mama's at Stavros Bay & in the evening we work our way around
the local village tavernas with probably an evening in Chania as a treat.
The family who own the apartments are delightful; friendly & helpful &
always happy to chat. We find Vlamis is the perfect spot to relax before the
English winter has us in it's grip once more! -

At first we appreciated the kindness of the owners.
Many taverns and beaches are close to the apartment.
Very quite and peaceful place.
House in traditional Cretan style offers a wonderful view on the sea and the
sunset.
The apartment, the garden and the swimming pool are always kept very clean.
A place where we would like to come back...
