“A little piece of paradise!” We were fortunate to spend the month of May at Villa Klio in Sfinari, Crete. We arrived at the airport in Chania and were met by the car rental agent and a car that had been arranged by George or Kostas. We drove to Sfinari over the beautiful mountain roads admiring the spectacular scenery and avoiding goats on the road. We arrived at the villa to find the refrigerator stocked with Moussaka, salad, wine and bread as well as juice and water!! There was a beautiful bouquet of roses making the villa smell wonderful. What an amazing surprise and delicious meal. We found the villa to be very comfortable, a housekeeper came twice a week. The village of Sfinari is charming and has two small "supermarkets" and several restaurants. We loved walking to the beach and eating at the restaurants there and watching the sunset over the sea. We drove the 20 minute drive to Kissamos for larger stores with more variety. Western Crete has amazing beaches and water warm enough to bathe in even in May! We loved Falassarna Beach, just a short drive from the villa. Elafonisi beach is another spectacular beach with pink sand and shallow water. There is so much to do and see on the island of Crete, we highly recommend it as a vacation destination and recommend Villa Klio as very nice accommodation.
