Join us at one of the few remaining beachfront homes in Bucerias, and all of Puerto Vallarta. As more and more developers buy beachfront property for multi-storey condominiums or resorts, the number of true beachfront homes has shrunken to a handful.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 storey Canadian-owned villa is located in Bucerias, Mexico, approximately 20 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta. Often described as “what Puerto Vallarta was 40 years ago”, Bucerias has an excellent reputation among travellers. Moon Handbooks (Puerto Vallarta) confirms that, “Bucerias features the longest creamiest beach on the Bay of Banderas”, a point confirmed in Fodor’s (Puerto Vallarta) 2008 Guide: “The beach here is endless.”

The beautiful beachfront property is located directly on the beach in the Bucerias, Mexico, about 15-20 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta. Bucerias is quickly becoming a favorite of Mexico travelers - close to restaurants, with a pristine beach out your front balcony - but far away enough away from Puerto Vallarta to retain its fishing village charm. Accessible by major highway, guests can arrive by car, taxi, or bus. The casa is perfect for relaxing - or taking out our kayaks for a paddle through the calm bay. Golf is close by, as is fishing and award-winning restaurants. Want to ramp it up? Head into Puerto Vallarta for a day of shopping, restaurants, and nightlife, returning home at night to your secluded villa.

  We had a wonderful time at Casa dos Palmas. I debated between 4 and 5 stars only because there is some traffic noise when you are in the house, but there were so many positives I went with 5. The casa is extremely well equipped, and you won't find a better beach location. When in the master bedroom you can hear the traffic from the highway, but out the terrace doors facing the beach you can also hear the waves all night. When you are by the pool or on the beach, you can only hear the waves, none of the traffic. The only other slight negative is that the pool is unheated and the water was way too cold in January to put more than a toe in. But the ocean was lovely. The beach is nearly always deserted, and there are three palapas reserved for the casa and the one other rental on the same property. But it is also an easy walk to the village and some wonderful restaurants (our favorite was Mezzogiorno). Baldo, the concierge for the property, is a complete gentleman and very helpful. He checked on us just often enough to always be there when we needed him but was never intrusive. He referred us to a friend who took us on a private boat ride where we saw whales, dolphins, blue boobies, and more. What a fabulous day on the bay! We got all the relaxation we needed lounging by the beach, and were near enough to activities to do everything we wanted to do without staying in the squeaky clean "gated community" type atmosphere in Nuevo Vallarta. A perfect combination. (We were also lucky enough to have 10 days of perfect weather.)
