Grangeville, IDComfortable Get-Away
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We had a wonderful stay at Tarheel Treasure, our accomadations were perfect and the proximity to the ocean was great. We were able to have several very nice days and the days the weather did not cooperate we enjoyed our time inside in the cozy and well equipped home. We enjoyed the movie selections on these days and the lovely reading cove on the main level was perfect. We would come back and stay in a heart beat. Our stay was for 9 days. Thanks so much for everything. Outer Banks Blue was very helpful during the entire rental process.

Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This was my 8th trip to the Outer Banks, i find that it is one of the best vacation spots around and i will always come back. This trip i had the oppertunity to bring 6 first timers and i am very happy with the house that i picked. When i plan a trip i try to stay in various locations to get a different feel each time. This rental house was very clean, the bedrooms were warm and made it feel like home. The house is located in the perfect setting, we were within walking distance to the super market (great for last min needs), we could see the ocean from the top deck and it made for great sunrises. The house was pefectly stocked with everything you mihgt need for you first trip to OBX or your 10th trip. We took advantage of all that was around to do, the wild horse tour was amazing and its within walking distance from the house. This was a great first time for my friends and the house and beach now have them hooked!! Thank you very much and i highly recomend this rental property to anyone

Outer Banks Blue gave us great service while we stayed here. There were problems with the lights inside and the central air while we were here, but the office staff had it taken care of very quickly. The home is nice and laid out quite well, and a pretty good view of the area. Beach is just a block away,300-500feet.The upper and lower decks were nice, with a hot tub, although we didn't use it. I would say we loved the closeness to the beach the best. Beware,do not let your dogs in the grass at the house. It contains sticker type burrs that are the size of a BB with needle like points on them. Our mini-schnauzer got them all over his underside and legs in just 20 seconds, and they took about 45 minutes to remove which was painful for both him and myself.

The only thing that was not to my satisfaction was the kitchen. It was filthy compared to the rest of the house.

ELKRIDGE MARYLANDthe best vacation we've had in a long time
Left on 09/07/2010 for a stay in August 2010
My daughters and i rented tarheel treasure from outer banks blue in august of this year. we all 3 live in the same house at home but rarely see each other. we had a great time getting to know each other again. the house gave us plenty of room to spread out. i think it was 800 feet to the ocean which was the absolute perfect distance even with carrying a toddler and everything they require. we love the keyless entry system you have in place. you don't have to worry about what time you arrive,or about standing in line with half the town to get into your home.
not having to worry about bringing bedding was also nice. especially again when your bringing children and have so much to pack. having your beds already made was one less thing to do when your getting settled into your vacation home. the house had everything that you could want to keep yourself comfortable. we absolutly loved the week that we stayed at tarheel treasure!! outer banks blue did another great job of setting everything up for our obx vacation. definatly a trust worthy, and stress free process. thank you so much outerbank blue staff, and the owners of tarheel treasure. see you again next year. -

Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Outer Banks Blue was great.
House was not well stocked in the kitchen and all items were old and worn. Hot tub was old and small.
There was a tree that overhung the driveway and dropped berries on our car...and it stained shoes and car carpets...
Good news, close to beach and keypad entry -

Yorktown, VAcomfortable cottage
Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We enjoyed the cottage. Our MBR mattress was wonderful. Others complained about there mattress. The deck was most enjoyable as were the nice TV's. When the description said it had a swing- I pictured a comfortable swing- perhaps on the desk where the spa is located that 2 people could enjoy. The big negative was the kitchen was not well stocked - not enough knives, very few sharp/ steak knives. Pots seemed to be 30 years old and in poor shape. Glad we brought our own blender.which we had brought our griddle. The gas grill was a nice surprise.

We enjoyed our time at Tarheel Treasure. The house was close to the beach which is where we spent most of our time. Very close to shopping and grocery store. We also spent time in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil and found that Corolla is exactly where we wanted to be. We really liked the private nature of this area. It was not overun with people and felt like we were at home.

It was a very relaxing week I spent in the Outerbanks. I have never been here before and it was the first time we spent a vacation in a house instead of a Motel, since I was a kid. It was a shore walk to the beach.
The house Tarheal Treasure needs to put another TV in the Queen bedroom. A friend and I stayed in the house and she didn't have a TV to watch when in her bedroom. The other inconvience is that you have to go to the middle lavel to go to the bathroom. It would have been nice if there was a powder room on the upper level.
Overall I would go back to the area for vacation again, infact I am planning to return in the fall 2009. I won't be staying at this property again though, I will be looking for somthing that has more features for my needs. -

Left on 11/19/2008 for a stay in October 2008
This was our first time being in the Northern Outer Banks very off season. It was wonderful to be there in late October, very uncrowed. Most days we had the beach to ourselves. Tar Heel Treasure is a cozy cottage with a rustic feel and is very comfortable for a few people. We loved its proximity to the beach. However, the kitchen needs a lot of updating and the family room needs new furniture.

Left on 10/18/2008 for a stay in June 2007
The home was nice but there were a few repairs needed, for
example the deck needed some repairs and the furniture on
it was unacceptable . The charcoal grill was broken as well.
The home inside was nice and roomy and tastefully
decorated. The only issue indoors was the tv's , a little out
dated.
We really enjoyed the hot tub and the short walk to the
beach. -

Alexandria, VirginiaGreat Home
Left on 09/30/2008 for a stay in September 2008
We had a great week, despite a major storm and water seeping
through a deck in the master bedroom. The house is very
pleasant, very close to the beach. That was key for us with the
kids and dog. Keyless entry is very practical. We also loved the
hot tub after a day at the beach in September weather. The
water seeping in the master bedroom was the only problem. No
real option was offered, except, after we called several times,
the option to move to a different house, which, with five kids, a
dog and the day before leaving was not exactly a great option. It
would have been nice if somebody could have gone the extra
mile to make up for the inconvenience. (E.g. offering a rebate or
adding a day to rental.)

We had a wonderful time. The beaches were quite empty and we had plenty of space. It was only a short walk of about a block to the beach which for the price made it very convenient as we have little ones. Had a good view of the sunrise over the dunes.

Left on 09/21/2008 for a stay in August 2008
It was easily the greatest beach house we've ever stayed at. Five or six houses to the beach on a very quiet street. Easy two minute drive (walk or bike also)to an upscale Harris Teeter.(Grocery stores are a little sparce in that area of the OBX so we were relieved to see one close by.) Upper floor, kitchen and living room have a very open floor plan that lead out to a huge brand new deck with a great view. We would definately shoot for this rental again or one as close to this one as possible (on the same street).

We had a wonderful vacation in this home. Is was within close walking distance to the beach and shops, but just out of the way of the busy outer banks. The house fit 10 people nicely; never once did we feel like we were walking all over each other.
