Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Booking was easy , We got a warm welcome from the helpful and friendly Mr Dave Stewart who met us bang on time at the apartment to show us around ,and help find places of interest to us. There was Milk in the fridge and tea, coffee & sugar to get a cuppa while we settled in. The flat was clean and warm and the bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water .Every thing we needed was there (except perhaps somewhere to hang your coat by the door) The location could not be any better, 10mins from the station ,every thing you could want to enjoy Edinburgh is on your door step. We are very much looking forward to staying in Parliament Sq 1 again.

Thank you for the wonderful review, it is always great to know that Parliament Sq 1 contributed to a wonderful trip to Edinburgh. We would also like to report a new coat stand has been purchased for the hallway.

This 2 bedroom apt is perfectly situated on the Royal Mile, close to everything, including the start of the ghost tours that gather there at night. Very clean and spacious w/high ceilings and classic touches throughout, including a gas burning marble surround fireplace. The kitchen is modern and well set-up and the views from the windows are wonderful. Dave checked us in and he was great, I would definitely stay there again or at any of their other properties. Other note - be sure to have breakfast at Clarinda's on the Royal Mile and The New Bell Restaurant, a bit off the beaten track.

Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This central chic apartment is perfect for a few days taking in the sights and experiences of the City. Despite the cold snowy weather we walked everywhere knowing we were able to return to comfortable, warm and cosy accomodation with an amazing view of St Giles Cathedral - magical at night with the splendour of the illuminated stained glass window and the snow falling.
We managed the many stairs despite our 'senior' years so don't be put off by any negative reviews with regard to 'no lift' - The climb is worth it!

Left on 03/04/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This is a great little flat in an awesome location! We were greeted in the snow by Brid, who was most helpful in helping the three of us, including my infant son, up the stairs. Once we were settled in, she then personally escorted me to the nearest grocery store so I could stock up for our stay. The flat itself is beautifully appointed, with a fully outfitted kitchen, and super comfy beds and couch. My favorite thing about the flat was the modern, refreshing style and decor. I do have to say I was disappointed that for 130 gbp there were no wash clothes or bath soap, but all in all this was a great flat, and I plan to stay there again.

Los AngelesLovely Flat in a Perfect Location
Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This was our second time in the flat - two weeks over Christmas and Hogmanay. It's a real home from home - well equipped, warm, elegant gas fireplace, ample space for four people. The location is fabulous with everything only a few minutes walk away. The downside is that the street can be a little noisy when the bars empty out in the middle of the night - so if you're a light sleeper...It wasn't an issue for us because of all the other advantages of the location. The flat is on the top floor so there are lots of stairs to climb - but we just saw that as a good form of extra exercise. The beds were comfortable with good bed linen. Everything was very clean but the carpets could do with a deep clean - a few stains had appeared since our previous visit. All-in-all a first class rental in a first class location in a first class city.

This is a perfect apartment for a weekend in the City. The location is perfect - a great place to explore the whole city easily on foot. We stayed with our 2 small children ( 6 & 8) and loved it. The apartment is so comfortable and cosy you instantly feel at home - much more relaxing than staying in a hotel. The guys at Edinburgh Self Catering were great, ensuring that we were met as we arrived in Edinburgh and gave us lots of great tips and recommendations for making the most of our weekend.

We rented this apartment for 9 days as a base to see Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We found it to be exactly as advertised - what you see online is what you get. Other reviews note the stairs, which can be a challenge after a long day of walking, but the apartment is worth the climb. The location is close to everything in the Old Town. Street noise was not an issue after 9 pm, and the section of the Royal Mile in front is restricted to pedestrians only so there is no traffic noise. The management of the apartment was very professional. Highly recommended.

This was our second august visit to Edinburgh and stay in Parliament Square. The location puts you in the thick of the Fringe and many of the other attractions and stimulations of Edinburgh in august and indeed throughout the year. The apartment is rather large, rather luxurious and altogether splendid to stay in. Dave Stewart and his colleagues provide friendly and prompt service. Its hard to imagine too many other places that would deliver so much albeit for a price particularly in august!!
We generally enjoy the climb to the fourth floor its good for the aerobics and you are rewarded with superb views. It might be a different matter in ten years but for now we want more and will be back again. -

Excellent apartment in great location. Met at apartment at agreed time by friendly and helpful member of staff. Everything provided in apartment that one could need and plenty of room to escape others when required.Views from apartment are amazing and one is really in the middle of the action. Only drawback is that apartment is on third floor and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.A great place that enriched the stay in Edinburgh.

For us 4 adult people the apartment was very nice to stay 5 nights in the center of Edinburg. The apartment was very clean and equipments were perfect to live a little long time in one place - live like in the own home. Of course you must tolerate a little noise from the main street of Edinburgh in all time of day time. This was the perfect place to explore to Edinburgh city and its' attractions by walk.

Left on 08/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent in apartment 15 at 1 Parliament Square. I do not believe it's possible to find a more centrally located vacation rental in Edinburgh. The pictures on the website are accurate and give a good sense of the look and feel of the apartment. It overlooks the Royal Mile and offers excellent views of St. Giles and the City Chambers. We were a bit concerned about noise, but it did not prove to be a problem. The apartment is beautiful, with lovely high ceilings and spacious well furnished rooms. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to prepare several meals in the apartment during our stay. I don't usually comment on the television in rental apartments, but the TV in this apartment is great. We really enjoyed being able to watch BBC shows on demand. The apartment provided an excellent base for exploring all parts of Edinburgh. We had lovely walks in Old Town, New Town, to arthur's Seat, along Leith Walk and to the Royal Botanical Gardens. As others have mentioned, the steps are a challenge with luggage, but not an impossible one. Edinburgh Self Catering were good to work with and keep the apartment in good condition. I would be very pleased to recommend this apartment to others.

The place was wonderful. Big rooms, high ceilings. Everything was clean and fresh. The beds were decent. The location could not have been better. I felt like we were dead center for all the attractions of the city. Loved having the full kitchen with washer and dryer. Great water pressure in the bathroom and lots of hot water. The only draw back was lots of stairs. Very nice staircase, but lots of it.

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We loved this apartment! Perfect in every way. Unbelievable location and set up very nice. While it was great there were two things we would like to note. One, the shower had no pressure and the hot water was really hard to get to stay on one constant setting. The other was the cost of parking. Please be aware that there is no parking near the apartment and we parked down below the castle. That was fine for walking but was as costly as being in NYC or San Francisco in the us. Roughly $60 a day for parking. That adds up when you are away on holiday when you weren't expecting it. Other than that it was a wonderful spot and we would stay here again and will refer it to others as the apartment and the location were just unbeatable.
Response from Edinburgh Self Catering - 08/05/2012
Manager
Have to agree parking costs are disgraceful, we have to endure it all year round, please complain to Edinburgh Council. As Edinburgh is actually a very small city centre and is easily navigated on foot we suggest that guest park just outside the restricted zone in a well lit residential street and bus or taxi it back into the city centre. This is what we do ourselves on many occasions. The whole operation from dropping luggage off and then driving the few miles to drop the car then bus or taxi back takes approx 30 minutes. A taxi there and back will cost 7-8 pounds each way which is much less than city centre parking charges over the course of a stay.

We have loved our week in apartment 15 on Parliament Square. Dave met us just as we arrived by taxi with a warm welcome and everything we needed to feel at home here. The apartment is lovely, the views are stunning, and the location is perfect. It happened that our visit coincided with the Queen's week in Edinburgh, so we enjoyed the excitement of a Royal Visit. We have felt very at home here, and recommend it highly.

Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012
You really couldn't ask for a better location or amenities at this apartment.
The introduction to the apartment by Dave was a wonderful personal touch and his introduction to the apartment was thorough and not rushed.
Within a 10 minute walk from the front door, is literally everything someone might need, (a little farther walk for the Palace and the Britannia.)
My only complaint would be the washing machine. It was fantastic to have one in the apartment, and it washed great and quickly, but the drying cycle was very long. It might have been normal for this type of machine since we are not familiar with a combo washer/dryer.
Ok, the steps to the apartment were many, but as long as you keep organized and make sure you have everything you need before you leave, they really are not a problem. The biggest struggle is with your luggage, and that only needs to go up once...I have climbed just as many steps in other countries without the gem of the apartment we had waiting for us at the top. Great value, cant wait to return! -

Really... you can't get any more central. The views were fabulous, especially out of the bedroom facing the church. The manager met us on time and took the time to explain everything. We were two couples and it was a great amount of space. Perfect would have been one more bathroom but we would all still rather have all the other benefits there than the extra bathroom in another location or less of a unit. We didn't use it much but the kitchen was well outfitted. There was a little price to pay for the view and that was the 5 flights of stairs. We considered it a good workout but some might not appreciate it.

My two friends and I had a fabulous weekend break in Edinburgh celebrating a "big" birthday for me. The experience was more positive due to the accommodation in Parliament Square. Would only every consider a hotel if I was only staying overnight.

My daughter and I stayed for two nights during the University Open days - and very much enjoyed the perfect location of this apartment. The entrance is impressive although there are quite a lot of stairs if you are carrying luggage. The apartment is well equipped and nicely furnished but there are no toiletries or other little extras that we have had in other serviced apartments previously so make sure you bring your own - particularly if you are arriving late. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep and you are also a stone-throw from the castle which makes the location of this place absolutely perfect, although there was quite a lot of noise from the street at night.

Left on 01/07/2012 for a stay in December 2011
The flat was our home for two weeks so we got to know it pretty well - and could find absolutely nothing to be irritated by or complain about. The flat is nicely furnished, very comfortable and fully equipped with everything you might need. And there's a lot of storage space. There were four of us and we never felt crowded.
The location is incredible - so close to everything from fine restaurants to museums, to the castle, to shopping, to the railway station etc. We walked almost everywhere, used the buses a little and the occasional taxi - all very easy. The views are incredible - overlooking St. Giles Cathedral on one side and the Royal Mile itself on the other side. But there are a lot of stairs up to the apartment, which we embraced as an opportunity to work off all the wonderful food we ate and the few wee drams we imbibed, but would not be so easy for people with mobility issues. Also, it could be a problem for light sleepers because it does get a little noisy when people leave the clubs at about 3.00am - but this is an issue anywhere in central Edinburgh. Just pop in some earplugs because staying in this flat is worth it. -

This is an incredible apartment in every way. Elegant, warm, cozy. Perfect for my husband, myself and our adult daughter for our 4 night stay. The beds are wonderful and the 'working shutters' snugged us in at night. It was a joy to make fine meals in the well equipped kitchen. Even the knives were sharp! We loved warming by the gas 'coal' fireplace as we read or played 'Scrabble'. The large arched windows on this ideal corner apartment filled our space with light and awe-inspiring beauty of the Cathedral and cobbled Royal Mile. What a delight! It was hard to leave it each morning. It's location is perfect for a walking tour of Edinburg. History, great restaurants and pubs, shopping... all within minutes of your door. We can not say enough about it. Highly recommend it!

What a fantastic place. The location was perfect for getting to just about anywhere in Edinburgh. The rental itself is very nice; the bedrooms were a good size, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was quite large as well (you might want to bring your own washclothes though). The photos are accurate.
Yes, it is up several long flights of stairs - but Vincent was very kind on my arrival and carried my heavy suitcase the entire way. The rest of the time it was great exercise. And while you can hear some of the activity from the Royal Mile, it just adds to the experience. Things usually settle down later in the evening, and you actually get used to the sounds.
Had a problem with one of the lights, and they came and fixed right away.
I would highly recommend Edinburgh Self Catering. -

Very friendly reception by Dave, who provides all the information you need, and can be contacted at any time.
In July there is quite a lot of noice (sometimes lovely music, but also sometimes drunk tourists) from the Royal Mile below. But there are good shutters if you want to block this out at night. If you are fit enough to climb the stairs, you will find that you get better at it every day and the topfloor offers great views. We hope to be back. -

If you are marrying off your daughter at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, this Paraliament Sq. rental apartment is fantastic for family and wdding guests to lounge, drop by, and for the bride to have her own room to have the "last night" at home, and prepare for the big day.
The location is so central that you might go craZy from the music buskers in the Royal Mile below your window day and night. However, the apartment is top floor, beautiful view, checkerboard floors shining bright and welcoming, all is perfect inside.
Just a note that the stairs are 89 up to the floor. We had some elder relatives who struggled to get up to the apartment to visit. If you are not fit, ask to rent lower down. Personally, I loved the space and could live there permanently. And by the way, the wedding was perfect. The sun came out the minute they said their vows!

What a beautiful place in a wonderful location, right on the Golden Mile. Ideally located, central to everything, surrounded by shops and great restaurants. Walking distance to everything, including the train station. The apartment was modern, very comfortable and very clean. We were traveling with our two adult children - we had a great time. Everything was handled expertly - not a snag. I would recommend this place and hope to return. One note, you wouldn't want a car in Edinburgh and you don't need one either.

We found the apartment perfect in terms of its location. It was a bit noisy on the Friday night, but that's to be expected. The other two nights, however, were quiet. The apartment had everything we needed - washing machine, dishwasher, etc. It was clean and comfortable. It was also good to be greeted by Dave on our arrival to be told about the apartment and its facilities. The only criticism I have is that we booked a 2 bedroom apartment, yet only one bed was made up. I would have thought it fairly obvious that if we had booked a 2 bedroom apartment, we would want the 2 beds available to us. Despite this, we would definitely stay there again, if we visited Edinburgh in the future. Price was very reasonable for the location and facilities.

Left on 03/22/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Smartly-decorated, spacious and clean flat near Edinburgh Castle with lovely view of cathedral next door and the action on the Royal Mile. Kitchen is well-equipped and in good repair, there's wi-fi and flat screen with dvd player in the cozy living room and very comfortable beds in the two bedrooms. So nice to have room to stretch out at the end of a full day, instead of being cooped up in a pricey hotel room! Also, plenty of restaurant choices in easy walking distance from the sublime (The Witchery!) to the pedestrian (Starbucks).
A couple things to consider: there are four flights of stairs to reach this heavenly place and there is some noise in the evenings from the local tour groups that gather in the plaza below. If you're up for the climb and don't mind a little auditory ambience, you'll like Parliament Square 1. (Note: this company also rents an equally lovely flat closer to the ground floor if the stairs are an issue.) Cheers! -

We stayed here for Hogmanay 2010 and this place was ideal. My family visiting from overseas were blown away with how nice the apartment was. It's a superbly modernly decorated gem so close to everything.
The Self catering team were very friendly. We turned up just before the torch light procession started to gather on the street below the apartment so were able to watch all the festivities from the comfort of our apartment window.
I would definitely book here again. -

Really lovely apartment located in the heart of Edinburgh. Great location, excellent greeting and orientation. Great place for a family with 1 child or a party of 3.
Located within walking distance to the castle - right upon the Royal Mile. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a little noisy at night as the evening ghost tours started outside the apartment, and the late night revelers could be heard from the streets -- but it was worth it.
The bus system was convenient to get to the airport.

We spent a wonderful few days in Edinburgh at this lovely apartment. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of the old town on the Royal Mile, and only a few minutes walk from the railway station. All the sights were within walking distance. The apartment was a good size for our family of 4, well furnished, very clean and warm. It was little noisy on the Saurday night, but that's the trade-off for being in such a good location - it was fine on the other two nights. Being on the top floor meant it was quite a work-out getting the cases up the stairs (no lift)! But overall we were very happy with the accomodation, the booking process was easy, and the security deposit was refunded promptly at the end of our stay. Would highly recommend.

Check-in was very easy, it's not a bad walk from the airlink 100 bus stop from the airport. All the amenities you could want. We only stayed four days, but we could comfortably stay months.
The apartment was very clean, and pretty big. Easily enough room to entertain a bit. We were there for a wedding and the bride got ready in our apartment the morning of the wedding. It had enough space to accommodate that. Very comfortable, and nicely decorated. Free wifi was a great feature for us. We also like the fireplaces. Beds were very comfortable and warm.
The location was amazing. Right in the heart of royal mile and close to shops, stores, pubs, restaurants, etc. We could easily walk to everything we needed, including the tour bus stop for a tour to Loch Ness. The only downside to being in such a great location is that is was a bit noisy on the weekend nights. Also, they started the haunted tours right outside the apartment, so you could hear screaming as they riled up the crowd. Non of it really kept us awake though. You do have to climb a lot of stairs for this particular unit, but it really was only hard with the luggage. Plus it was a great way to work off some of the amazing food! Would highly recommend to anyone and would love to stay again. -

The location, cleanliness, and view from this apartment is fantastic! The kitchen is well equipped and the living area is comfortable. We had two married couples stay and the arrangements were very nice. It is a shared bathroom, but posed no issues. The ladies wanted to stay a few days longer because of these accommodations! The only negative might be that you will need to climb four flights of stairs to get to the apartment. The reward for climbing is a fantastic view of the Royal Mile and St. Giles Cathedral.

Left on 08/31/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We booked this apartment for four nights in July 2010. The apartment is very comfortable, with wonderful views over to St. Giles and on the Royal Mile. Unfortunately the gentleman who handed out the keys was not very helpful. We had the impression that our money was welcome, and that we had to leave on time at the end of the stay. Nothing else. Service? Flexibility? No, not part of the deal. The bathroom was not very clean, glasses in the kitchen dirty, TV did not work properly. Oh, very nice gas fire. It worked. Summing up: We had high expectations in relation to the price of the apartment, which were not fully met.

I am sorry there were some issues you were unhappy with and they will be investigated. However, I can assure you that the properties are scrupulously cleaned prior to every arrival. Mnay past reviews are testament to this.
However, I am unclear why you think it is unreasonable to ask guests to leave "on time" at the end of the stay. You have to appreciate we are a small management team and have a very short window of time between bookings to prepare the property for the next guest, especially in the very busy month of July were we can have several properties to do in one day.
In terms of value fo rthis particualr booking, this beautiful two bedroom prestigious apartment cost approx 35% less than what two small rooms in a budget hotel would cost in the month of July. -

The location was perfect for us, a family of 5. The apartment was clean, easy to stay in and extremely comfortable. The agent who met us gave us great suggestions on places to eat. However, driving into Edinburgh was difficult and the agent was unable to give us driving instructions. He seemed impatient with us. Being unable to park our car somewhere safely to unload was also a problem and then climbing 87 stairs with luggage was hard. But it was a fabulous stay, a fun time and i would recommend it highly if you come without a car.
Response from Edinburgh Self Catering - 09/10/2010
Manager
So glad you had a great stay. However your experience serves as good tip to everybody to do a little bit of research where the properties are exactly in the city and not wait until you arrive at the edge of the city and try get instructions by phone. Im sure many of us have tried this and realise how difficult this can be, especially in a city like Edinburgh with many small streets.
Every formal confirmation sent out has the full detailed postal address of the property which can be put in various mapping websites for an accurate map which can be printed out with driving instructions if requested. The formal confirmation also contains a link to a customised googlemap showing the locations and if you click on street view you can see exactly what the the building looks like. These small steps really help minimise any difficulties locating the properties.
Also if you are driving by car, please advise and a map can be sent showing the location of all the long term car parks with in the city centre. Aternativley conduct a search online. -

The apartment was ideal with three friends staying with me performing in the Jazz and Blues Festival. It was so convenient to walk to the gigs. Since it was during festival season High Street was abuzz with street theater and performing artists. Just look out the window for entertainment! The apt does have wood shutters that may be closed for when you need peace and quite. Hats off to Dave (property manager) for keeping the property at such a high level of cleanliness and comfort. The unit is a top forth floor unit, but you do have six flights of stairs, no lift, a good way to stay in shape after enjoying the many good restaraunts in the area! What else can I say we were there for 10 days and enjoyed each one! My only reservation in writing such a glowing review is that it may make it more difficult for me to rent next year! Until next year!

My wife and I came to Edinburgh with our teen grandson to explore and savor all the history. We all loved this apartment--convenient to everything on or near the Royal Mile. Two roomy bedrooms, the well-equipped kitchen, spacious bath and nicely furnished living room made this a home away from home for our 5-day stay. The apartment's on the third floor and with no lift, be prepared to climb many steps! This location can be a little noisy due to street performers and responsive audiences but that adds to the excitement and charm of this splendid city.

A fabulous apartment in the perfect location. I do not have one bad thing to say about this experience. The apartment provided excellent accomodations with appliances in perfect condition and spacious rooms, even a luxuriously large bathroom. The view from all windows is spectacular. There is no lift/elevator, so I would be hesitant to recommend for someone who has difficulty with several flights of stairs. My traveling companion and I had no problem managing the stairs. It was a small price to pay for such a perfect location.

Parliament Square was a perfect spot from which to explore Edinburgh for the first time. About mid-way on the Royal Mile, we had very easy access to the castle, Holyrood, the National Museum, and St. Giles was literally at the doorstep (as were all the walking tours, and lots of buskers at the weekend). My husband and I stayed at 1/15 Parliament Square for 5 nights. We decied to splurge a bit since this was to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were so pleased with the location and amenities and how we were treated during the reservation, check-in/out process.
The flat is just like the pictures show. It is very comfortable and right in the middle of all that the Royal Mile has to offer. The beds and linens are wonderful. We slept like babies especially because of the shutters that close over all the windows to make everything dark and quiet.
It was very handy to have a washer/dryer in the kitchen. Do note the dryer takes a long time especially for heavier things like jeans. Only downside was the lack of a lift which we did know about ahead of time. There are 82 steps up to the top floor where the flat is situated.
We recommend this flat to anyone traveling to Edinburgh as long as they can handle the stairs. We hope to return in the next 2-3 years. -

We recently enjoyed a two night stay in the Parliament Square Apartment. The apartment is ideally situated on the Royal Mile and is very central for sightseeing, restuarants etc. The accomodation is very comfortable and well equipped. It is also bright and spacious and was ideal for us (family of four). Although it did not bother us at all, some guests may find the stairs up to the apartment rather daunting. Only one disappointment was the rather stained lounge carpet which badly needed cleaned. Other than that, we had an excellent stay.

This is a great property in a fantastic location (provided you don't mind stairs).
Obviously it is in the centre of the City, so don't be surprised if there is street
noise (although no traffic noise).
The flat is well-equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean.
The service when we arrived and left was very straightforward and precisely as
had been described in an email in advance.
One practical difficulty is that there is no nearby parking and the long-stay
parking (which is about 15 minutes' walk away) is pretty expensive (around
£18 per day, from recollection).
But this did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for this place - we'll certainly
be back. -

and 6). It was fantastic. We were able to put the kids to bed and then
stay up to visit or just watch TV.
The apartment was clean and well stocked, the management was
friendly and extremely helpful. If we ever travel to Edinburgh again,
this is the first place we'd check for availability.
It suited everyone's needs, which can be hard with such a diverse
group! -

The flat was beautiful and far exceeded my expectations in every area. Dave, our contact, was a pleasure to work with as well being fantastic to glean useful local information from, the restaurant list was most helpful. The overall experience of renting the flat at 1/15 Parliament Square was perfection.

Parliament Sq, on Royal Mile, was perfection at its best. After staying in a few 5 star hotels during different trips to Edinburgh we decided that we would try an apartment since there were going to be three of us instead of just my husband and myself. To our surprise we found the apartment to be 5 star all the way and would never consider staying anywhere else when we visit Edinburgh in the future. It was huge, beautiful, and right in the middle of the Royal Mile, it just doesn't get any better then that!

Flat very comfortable and modern with good facilities. Couldn't be more central (right next to St Giles cathedral!) Still has the old shutters inside so with these and the curtains closed at night, there is very little noise for such a centrally located flat. The lack of a lift and the flat being on the top floor might not suit some people. However, all the other benefits of this flat more than made up for that!

Top floor spacious apartment in centre of Edinburgh on the Royal Mile opposite St Giles.
Beautifully decorated and furnished with state of the art TV/DVD/HI-FI.
No lift so tenants need to be fit to manage all the stairs. -

We spent a week in this apartment on Parliament Square in March 2008 following my daughter's wedding at the Castle. It is a lovely apartment, well furnished and well equipped with great views from all windows. Everthing was very clean and tidy with a good mix of the traditional and modern. Centrally located, everything we needed was on hand, and there are many great restaurants within easy walking distance. Key handover was easy and we had no problems at all. All the "touristy" things were within a 10-15 minute walk. Hope to revisit using the same apartment maybe for a slightly longer stay.
Would very definitley recommend this property.

great apartment, centally located and very charming in its layout (corner apartment, lots of windows with great views, bright) and tastefully furnished. all sights and activities of interest are walking distance, truly great. only reason i can not give it best rate is that it is on the fourth floor without elevator - again a small price to pay for an apartment and building that is uniquely charming - which can turn into a challenge with children of physically impared guests.
overall a truly wonderful experience and hoping to be back sometimes. -

The apartment was everything we had read about previously. Lovely furnishings. Great location. Across the street from local tour company. Right on the Royal Mile and close to the castle. We were met right on schedule to get our keys. The entire process was very efficient. We even watched fireworks over the castle from the living room window. What we saw in the pictures was what we got.
Just a note - There are quite a few steps to get to the apartment (no elevator) and we were challenged physically initially (that means stopping on a landing to rest). -

This is a wonderful property at any time but during the festival it is divine! The location places you at the centre of activity-you can see the tatoo fireworks for free and you can see street acts through the day. The nearest restaurant is downstairs.
The apartment is up 3 sets of stairs so you need to be fit and it is not possible to get a taxi to the door during the festival.
The aparments itself is tasteful and well equipped-even includes broadband. Four adults spent 7 days without getting on each others nerves. Its basically bliss -

This was a wonderful experience! My family included my husband, mother and baby brother (who was only 14 months at the time). The space was more than comfortable, in an ideal location and so luxurious! I would recommend this rental to anyone who wants the perks of a hotel, without the price and with more privacy and independence.

Excellent location, nice, clean, big apartment. Only drawback was the dryer didn't work and the 5 flights of stairs....but easily overlooked for what you get. Nice touches with all the umbrella's available. Even has single malt scotch glasses! The wow factor here is 10+.
