What Past Guests Are Saying
Absolutely loved our stay at regent house this weekend. From the little extras provided by our thoughtful hosts Paul and Melissa, to the superb location in downtown niagara on the lake, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! We're already planning our next trip there!
I have stayed in rental houses many times in Notl and elsewhere, Regent House exceeds them all. The attention to detail in every area of the house is astonishing. Our group of five girlfriends are already booking our return.
Perfect House, Perfect Location, Perfect Stay
Recently, five couples stayed at the Regent House. The property is modern, comfortable, and spacious. The house is ideal for walking access to everything that Niagara on the Lake has to offer. The bedrooms are wonderful and the outdoor spaces are beautiful. I would highly recommend a stay at the Regent House.
The Best Experience in Niagara-on-the-Lake
We have rented many accommodations in Niagara-on-the-Lake over the years but staying at Regent House was the best experience we have had. The owners were very accommodating to all our requests and very welcoming and friendly. The house is the best equipped we have ever rented and the owners' attention to detail was very much noted and appreciated by all the members of our party. The linens were the best and we even purchased a set of the wonderful sheets that were used on the beds. The towels were plush and soft and everyone appreciated having an ensuite in their room. The appliances are top rate and the backyard is a quiet retreat. The house is very close to town and everyone was able to walk comfortably. There were 9 people in our party and we never felt crowded. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our mom's 83rd birthday and we would highly recommend the property to anyone.
Great house in fantastic location
Our two families built lasting memories here. Carriage ride from the front door was perfect for marriage proposal . The 8 people in our two families had lots of space to get to know each other and the house had everything one could need.

Peaceful and relaxing
This was our second visit to Regent House the first being at New Years and both were exactly what the doctor ordered. On this visit along with four other couples we enjoyed the many miles of cycling trails available in the immediate area. While being litterly only steps away from the action (dining, shopping, theatre, etc) the home is located in a very serene and peaceful area of town. In our experience it is very difficult to find accommodations where all couples enjoy this level of comfort and privacy. We found absolutely nothing lacking and are already planning for next year. Thanks again to our gracious hosts Paul and Melissa for sharing your home.

Amazing Visit to Niagra on the Lake
Our family gathered at Regent House to celebrate a milestone anniversary. We were so impressed with the house, service, amenities, and location. The home is beautifully appointed with everything travelers from 5 to 75 needed. We truly enjoyed the beautiful accommodations and a delightful stay at Regent House!

Fabulous accommodations for our group of ten. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Each bedroom embraced a certain charm, ensuite bathrooms were especially nice, and a large bathroom on main floor made it very convenient for us. Kitchen well stocked. Lovely common areas for those who need to have their " quiet time" and areas for those who love a large flat screen for viewing their good selection of Movies and music. Great formal dining room ... All this, and just a couple blocks from the gorgeous Notl town centre. The owners were wonderful hosts easy to work with and very helpful to us. Great place!!

Perfect base for a big family holiday in Niagara on the Lake
Regent House was a fabulous find, a large house with enough room for 10, there were 8-9 of us most of the time. It is located right in the centre of Niagara on the Lake, an easy and pleasant walk to shops and restaurants. There was also a safe entrance, just down the street, to the bicycle path which our grandchildren loved. As we had friends and family joining us from out of town, the generous off street parking was appreciated.
Our hosts welcomed us in person when we arrived, which was very nice, and gave us a tour of the property, so we immediately felt at home.
The house itself is beautifully decorated throughout and has great luxurious amenities, and useful spaces, with a 'quiet' lounge for those needing some peaceful reading time, and a large lounge big enough for all of us to socialise. We were lucky to have a brilliant sunny May for our stay and the garden was a beautiful private space to relax and chat, with comfortable furniture for all. The BBQ was appreciated for a casual dinner one night.
We had a change of guests half way through our stay and it seemed like nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts Paul and Melissa who handled the change over of guests very smoothly.
All of our friends and family who joined us, were very happy and comfortable and without exception, I think they would recommend Regent House to anyone visiting Niagara on the Lake for a special celebration. We wanted to stay longer and hope to return one day!
A great place for family gathering
We loved our stay at the Regent House. A beautiful home that makes it very easy for large families to stay together in a wonderful town. It was so nice to be able to walk to the main street (two blocks) and shop! Also, the kids loved to bike right down the street and only be a few blocks from the bike paths and playgrounds. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to other people thinking of stay in the Niagara area.
Great weekend get-away for a group!
We were 5 adults and 4 children, and we had friends staying at another house. Because Regent House has a fabulous long dining table, we ate our supper here each night as a group. The kitchen was well equipped, the house is in pristine condition, there are lots of places to break into a smaller group. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Everything was very clean and worked as expected. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Excellent location, quiet street, but very close to downtown.
One of the best rentals!
Paul and Melissa are one of the most wonderful, attentive and thorough hosts anyone can ever have when renting a vacation place! When I needed suggestions on what to do, they gave me a full itinerary and recommendations which saved me a ton of time on research. This was invaluable for me as I was quite busy with all the preparations. Melissa and Paul even volunteered to bring out the garbage for us (some vacation rentals have too many policies and rules, this one was not stressing at all!), you will absolutely love renting with them!
The home is very beautiful and the kitchen became the central place where everyone gathered, easily accommodating all 6 wanna-be cooks! Gas stove, BBQ, Pancake griddle, oven for freshly baked bread - the kitchen is complete! Bedrooms had everything in its place, bathrooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable. The home is walking distance to everything.
I have stayed in many places in and outside Canada and I wasn't too excited at first having a weekend at Niagara on the Lake, having done this several times in the past (not at the Regent) but after a weekend at Regent and with service by Paul and Melissa, I can recommend this place to all my friends, acquaintances...!!!
I hope to rent this place again in the future!

A perfect home!
Regent House is in perfect condition which means that you will be all set for the wonderful stay that you are planning. It provides a warm, inviting atmosphere within which to relax and celebrate being together. The owners are accommodating and very pleasant which makes it all the more reason to come back nest year.

Regent House deserves it's 5 star rating!
Five couples spent New Years weekend at Regent House and it could not have been lovlier. From the luxurious bedrooms, linens and en suites, excellent common areas and proximity to downtown there is no more to ask for here. The house is fully equiped right down to wine charms for the glasses! The owners were so accomodating to our needs and questions, and they obviously have pride in their home. We would recommend Regent House to anyone and hope to spend many more nights there.

Delightful Weekend Retreat
What a wonderful weekend we had at the Regent House! 5 sisters travelled to Niagara on the Lake for our first visit, and now look forward to hopefully making it an annual event. The accomodations at the Regent House couldn't have been more perfect. A generous size bedroom complete with ensuite full bathrooms for each of us. No need to decide who gets what room, they are all wonderful. The beds and bedding were dreamy(no pun intended!). The home is decorated beautifully inside and out. You can tell that it is well cared for. We enjoyed wine and cheese before dinner in the well appointed kitchen, and then returned home after dinner to watch movies. The town is charming, just a stroll down the street to all the shops and many great restaurants. We will have to visit the wineries next time, but heard they are great! We enjoyed spa treatments at a local spa, but truly looked forward to getting back to the house to spend our precious time together in this welcoming space.
My husband and I organize an annual 3-day wine tour at Niagara and the Bench every year with other professional couples. This home was by far the most suitable for our tour. It is extremely well appointed. Alot of space for everyone. Each bedroom is cozy and well furnished with a very comfortable bed and clean ensuite complete with shampoos, blowdryer, etc.. even a dark coloured face cloth for makeup removal!
Great kitchen and dining room. Family room with a large screen tv and excellent movie selection. Lovely backyard with high end bbq which I'm sure is a huge bonus in the summer months.
Every single one of our guests raved about the accommodations this year. We'll definitely be going back.

A Regal Experience
Our family's stay at the Regent House for our 40th anniversary exceeded our grandest expectations! This historic house is absolutely gorgeous - beautifully decorated, spacious, and immaculate-yet family friendly. The warm welcome and tour of the house that we received upon our arrival immediately made us feel at home. The furnishings in each bedroom are unique and elegant - beds are comfy, and linens soft and luxurious. Having five private bathrooms (and an extra one in the laundry room) was a real plus for our large group. Our family especially enjoyed the many gathering areas to relax and visit. The beautiful dining room and patio provided the ambiance for memorable meals, both formal and casual. The kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed at our fingertips-nothing was overlooked. Throughout our visit, we often congregated on the patio and enjoyed the lush gardens. Both the well-appointed living room and cozy family room also provided tremendous focal points for memorable conversations and reminiscing. The location of the house couldn't have been better - quiet and private, yet only a block from all of the action on Queen Street and a short walk to the golf course. We couldn't have celebrated our anniversary anwhere more lovely.
Fabulous House - great for large group
For the second year in a row, we rented The Regent House for a family get away to Notl. We were ten adults and the house is fabulous for such a gathering. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We could all sit comfortably in the dining room and family room to enjoy our newly discovered wines and long conversations. The house is close to the main street and the theatres. Some of us went on the garden tour organized by the local horticultural society and thought that the Regent House gardens were as nice if not nicer than those showcased.
We would highly recommend this house.
Super Nice and Lovely Stay
We rented many cottages in Niagara on the lake and Muskuka area, and we believe Regent House is the best one we love.
The location is very good, it's just 1 blocks from Queen street, 3 mins walk.
The house provides everything we need, even exceed what we expected. They nicely provided us 2 cribs and 1 high chair as we mentioned we have 4 young kids.
The house is very comfortable and luxurious. It has 5 big bedrooms, and each bedroom has provide ensuite. The back yard is so nice in the summer. We had BBQ dinner there and we had high tea party there with the lovely tea cups. We could not enjoyed the stay even better.
The service is good. They responsed our emails and phones very quikly. We has a very happy communication.
They offer door code to access the property, which is more safe than door keys.
We really enjoy our stays in Regent House and will definately recommend this to everyone, and we are looking forward our next stay in Regent House.
Thank you, Regent House!
Regent House Niagara on the Lake - Fabulous Girls Getaway !!
Thank you to Paul and Melissa and their property manager Lyle. We had a fantastic experience from the moment we stepped foot into the Regent House. The accomodations are fantastic and very well appointed. We came to the Regent House for our 10th anniversary Girls Getaway Weekend and all of us loved the house. It is spacious and gave us everything we needed.
On the Friday night of our stay, Niagara on the Lake recieved several inches of snow. On Saturday morning, the property manager Lyle came and not only shovelled the snow but he also cleared off all of our cars for us. It was wonderful.
The kitchen facilities are perfect with plenty of room for creating wonderful meals. All the bedrooms have ensuites, beautiful furnishings and plenty of room for a weekend of clothes or an entire month. Laundry facilites as well.
Thank you Lyle, Paul and Melissa. We will be back. Next time for a summer getaway and wine tour. We all want to spend a summer evening in the beautiful back garden.
Idyllic Holiday Retreat
Regent House is an idyllic holiday retreat just steps from the main street in Niagara on the Lake. You can walk to restaurants, boutiques, the Shaw Festival, Fort George and take a stroll along the Niagara Parkway. It is just minutes to many of Ontario's finest wineries'. You could spend a weekend or better yet a week enjoying Regent House's exquisite and picturesque accommodations plus the many attractions that Niagara on the Lake has to offer.
The photo gallery provided on Regent House site gives you a tour of the professionally decorated rooms. Each bedroom is its own uniquely decorated space with ensuite bathroom to allow each couple or individual the privacy and luxurious comfort of a 5 star hotel.
My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend a weekend at Regent House in the beginning of November 2011. We were able to spend a whole weekend with 3 other couples that we have known for many many years but have never had an opportunity to spend any time on our own away from our children and the hustle bustle of everyday life. We enjoyed every minute! We relaxed at Regent House, enjoying the comfortable surroundings. Cooked together in the beautifully equipped kitchen, and dined in the elegant dining room. We also took advantage of the local restaurants, some casual, others formal, and toured the local wineries and shopped at the boutiques. We used this time to catch up with our friends, reenergize, and reconnect with our spouses! My husband and I would highly recommend a stay at Regent House to anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.
We had Big wine Tour plans. The Regent House was so nice we sent 4 people out to bring wine back. We set up our own tasting and had a ball.
Our Group usally goes to a B & B. But we were able to use the kitchen and the entire house.
Lyle met us a the door right on time.

PS The Regent House is about 5 doors from the angel Inn!!!
Home away From Home...But Even Better !
For 3 days during the Christmas holiday, we had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Regent House for our family get-together. This was our first time staying here, and it exceeded our expectations in every respect. The Regent House exudes character and history, and yet offers all the space and modern amenities you need for it to be a home away from home...but even better somehow ! The attention to detail was obvious throughout. There was more than enough space to accomodate our 3 families whether we were relaxing, sleeping or eating ! Each bedroom was decorated to very high standards, spacious, extremely comfortable and offered its own private bathroom, which we all appreciated. We each took turns cooking a meal during our stay and found that the kitchen is optimumly laid out, modern and extremely well equipped. The Regent House's close proximity to Niagara-on-the-Lake (2 minute walk!) allowed us to take in much of what this special town had to offer. Time didn't permit us to do any wine tours, horse and buggy rides, see a theatre production or take advantage of the Regent's beautiful back yard, so we will just have to come back to do that! All in all, we had a wonderful stay (albeit short)...a warm and grateful thank you to our very gracious hosts for making our family get-together this year so special.
Complete family gatherings are very rare and special to us.
As our family is spread out across Canada, we are only able to gather as a complete family once every second year on Christmas day.
This year we were very fortunate to have had our Christmas gathering at Regent House, Niagara on the Lake in Ontario.
This five(5) star accommodation was very impressive. The beds were comfy (looove the sheets), the furniture luxurious and the town just a delight to walk through.
In short...Regent House has every amenity one needs for a perfect getaway.
I cannot express the joy we had spending the Holidays at Regent House.
A big "thank you" to Paul and Melissa for providing such a warm and inviting place for us to celebrate Christmas as a family.
We highly recommend Regent House for any occasion and we hope to have the opportunity to revisit.
Amazing home...can't wait to go back!
We stayed at Regent House in early November 2011 with 3 other couples. Regent House is conveniently located a block from the main street and very close to the angel Pub, which we enjoyed for a night cap and a short walk home. The house is beautifully decorated and is both welcoming and comfortable. Each of the 5 bedrooms has a unique theme with the furnishings and décor elegantly put together. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Ours was well stocked with luxurious towels, soaps, shampoo, lotions and a hair dryer. We were the last to arrive and stayed in our choice of one of the two rooms with a queen bed. It was five-star hotel quality and even had an iPod dock in the alarm clock. Of course, there is also Wifi access throughout the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils pots and pans - and wine glasses. We enjoyed our breakfast in the elegantly decorated formal dining room that was perfect for our group of 8. There are 2 sitting areas: a living room and a cozy family room that has big soft couches and a large screen TV. There were plenty of movies, music and books for us to choose from to enjoy during our stay. Despite being early November we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to sit outside and enjoy the lovely garden on Sunday afternoon.
This amazing house is perfect for a family gathering or, as we did, a group of friends getting together to enjoy great company and all that Notl has offer. We look forward to returning next year!
We were very impressed with the house and furnishings. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. We liked that each bedroom had its own bathroom so no one had to share. The location was fantastic - close to shopping, wineries and restaurants. The weather was beautiful the weekend we were there so we were able to enjoy the yard and gardens. We are looking forward to staying here again next year!
Fabulous rental in Notl!!!
Every year four couples stay for a weekend of wine and shopping in Niagara on the Lake. Last month, October, we stayed for the first time at The Regent House. It was only a short block to town and we had five fabulous bedrooms with ensuites to choose from and a beautiful garden with a BBQ. My husband and I had the middle room upstairs with a king-sized four poster bed. The sheets on the bed were incredible (and offered for sale there) and we purchased them plus lovely Regent House mugs before we left. Its a very large house and we made a lot of our meals there and enjoyed them in the beautiful dining room. We would recommend this property whole-heartedly to anyone looking for an immaculately clean private home in town. You won't be disappointed.
I have been visiting Notl for over 20 years and stayed in almost every hotel there. But this past weekend I chose Regent House and it is far better and superior to any 5 star hotel in Notl. My friends and I couldn't decide which bedroom to sleep in, as they are all so beautiful and each has its own ensuite. The beds are so comfortable and when the men comment on the sheets and how soft they are, you know the owners have paid alot of attention to the details. As a kitchen designer I love a great kitchen and Regent House has a fabulous kitchen. Fabulous appliances and everything you need to prepare great meals. The dining room and back yard are spectacular for eating in or out!Great patio furniture, privacy and a great bbq. Not to mention it's 5 minutes from the Shaw, shopping or restaurants. Plenty of parking with two driveways for your cars. If you are looking to visit Notl this is the only place to stay! It is just an outstanding home, with the most outstanding decor and fabulous furniture.
They have truly thought of everything. We will be booking again and again.

Couldn't of asked for anything better
Our stay at the regent house for my sisters wedding weekend was perfect. The hosts are sincere and Lyle, the property manager is amazing. Lyle went out of his way from the day we phoned to confirm our reservation until the minute he took a picture of our family on the front door step when it was time to leave.
The hosts have thought of everything. The little details set this house apart from all the rest. On a yearly basis we visit Niagara on the Lake for a long weekend and out of all the homes we have stayed at, this home is in a league of it's own.
The bed sheets are amazing (and if you like them, you can buy them!). The furniture is comfortable. The decorations make you feel like you are stepping into a Pottery Barn store. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay is at your fingertips. Lyle is only a phone call away if you run into any problems. We blew a breaker with all the girls getting ready for our rehearsal dinner and within minutes he was there to fix it. The house is also extremely clean.
The beautiful backyard provided us with some tranquility during our very busy weekend. The patio furniture is comfortable enough to sleep on!
I can't say enough about the Regent House, the hosts and Lyle. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Niagara on the Lake, stay at the Regent House. I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed.
Gorgeous House, Walking Distance to Everything
We booked Regent House, along with two other houses in the area for a family reunion. Regent House was absolutely perfect for our needs, including a main floor suite for my senior parents, and four upstairs bedrooms with ensuites that accommodated two siblings and their kids. The house is beautifully decorated, but not so fragile that we had to watch youngish kids (7, 8, 9) all the time. We walked to Shaw, to the main street, and to the neighborhood pool and tennis courts. The backyard is serene, and we made great use of the grill. The hosts were also terrific. We would definitely book this house again, and recommend it to our friends.
Serenity in the Midst of Wedding Festivities!
This beautiful, gracious home was an oasis for myself, my husband, our grown children, their spouses and our 2 1/2 year old grandson. The decor is stunning, thoughtful and so well done. That each of the couples could be accommodated, with an ensuite bedroom. Particularly on the Wedding day. It made getting ready stressfree. The large diningroom, livingroom, familyroom enabled everyone to find an area to retreat to or join in as they wished. The outdoor seating and gardens created a wonderful ambience to entertain family and friends. It was so well appointed and lacked for nothing. There was never a moment when we didn't have what we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with glasses for every need, as well as dishes, cutlery, etc., even a cappachino maker. The linens were exquisite and the mattresses extremely comfortable. The central air was especially wonderful as the temperature was quite high. Each appliance was new and high quality. The location was superb, only one and a half blocks from the main street. From the large screen TV, the many children and other movies, the books and the wifi hookup, there was something for everyone. All of this made what could have been a hectic, frantic, pre-wedding and wedding celebrations turn into a relaxed, wonderful occasion. Cheers to the
owners, Melissa and Paul!
Awesome place, great for a group
Great location within walking distance of shops and restaurants close to Fort George and the winery trail
we loved the fact that we were able to barbeque and visit on the deck
Internet and phone service were greatly appreciated
I especially loved the satiny sheets and the cleanliness of the entire home.
Bedrooms were all nicely decorated making it difficult to pick the best.
Impressed even my mother!
Truly a luxury rental that makes my normal living situation inadequate now...
Would live there all the time if possible, even my mother and wife were very impressed with the accommodations and that is hard to do!
Luxury in Historic Niagara-on-the-Lake
Our group (five couples) recently stayed at Regent House for a four-day weekend in Notl. Regent House far exceeded our expectations. Regent House has all of the amenities and warmth of a private home with the comfort and furnishings of a fine small hotel. Each couple had their own spacious, comfortable bedroom with ensuite bath. We spent a lot of time in the large garden, which was in full bloom.
We ate in a couple of evenings (we like to cook!) and there was plenty of room for 10 both at the dining table on the patio and in the dining room. The kitchen was well equipped for those who like to cook.
Regent House is a lovely, large historic home in the old section of Notl - only a short walk to the main street.
As for Notl, there is plenty for vistors to do - golf, cycling, visiting wineries, the Shaw Festival, seeing the sights of the old town and so much more.
We thoroghly enjoyed our stay at Regent House. I'd recommend it to anyone.
five star , first class accomodation and easy walk to amentities
fabulous home, incredible furnishings and decor, great value.
One of many highlights of a perfect weekend
Regent House far exceeded our expectations. The house is spacious, airy and impeccably decorated. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom, and a lovely comfortable bed. Several comments were made about having to find where the sheets came from so that people could buy them for themselves.
We used the kitchen to cater a small family BBQ/get together (20 people) and all the appliances that we needed were there.
The location was perfect and a very short distance from the centre of town and the angel Inn (very much appreciated by the Brits).
All in all, the house made a great impression on the family and was one of many highlights of a perfect weekend.
Thank you for letting out your beautiful home.
Luxurious Regent House
Regent House is a luxurious cottage rental with excellent proximity to the main street of Niagara on the Lake. Golf, theatre and the shops are all within walking distance. The bedrooms are all lovely with beautiful linens and with an ensuite in each. The dining room was ideal for our large group with lots of space in the kitchen as we like to cook. The casual family room was cosy in which to relax with the alternative of the deck outside.
We received excellent service from Lyle who responded very quickly to email enquiries, was available to provide information when we arrived and when one bathroom had a leak under the sink arranged for it to be fixed while we were out playing golf the same day. Overall the house was an excellent choice. One suggestion, better lighting in the living room might make that room a little more inviting.
Victorian Inspired House Full of Modern Comfort
The Regent House was a beautifully restored home. There was obvious attention to detail in décor and service. The property manager was a delight to work with and had answers to my questions before I even had a chance to ask them. The bedding in outstanding and we all had a wonderful sleep in the divine sheets and most comfortable mattress. The kitchen was fully stocked and everything you could need to cook like a chef. It has a beautiful back yard, which we were thankful to sit in and watch the cardinal in the tree.
Overall it was an amazing weekend and I would highly recommend the experience of staying at the Regent House.
Great home for groups and families
We celebrated my Mother's 65th birthday at the Regent House last week and everything was fantastic. We had my Mother's siblings come from around the province and as the host of the weekend, I heard nothing but praise about the accommodations. Each bedroom is equally as beautiful and luxurious as the next and all offer a private ensuite.
The entire house is fully equipped with the highest of quality finishing from the linens to the BBQ. We had a full house of 10 and at no time did we feel crowded, this home is extremely spacious. We even hosted a diner for 12 in the Dining room with plenty of room and while cooking for all those people, not once were we in need of any cooking utensils, the kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need.
When we organized this weekend, we had originally looked at getting hotel rooms for each couple but at the end of the day we selected the Regent House for a couple reasons. The value was great, this 5 bedroom home is about half the price of 5 hotel rooms for two nights. My Mother and her siblings rarely all get together anymore so having everyone in the same place was very important. In fact, the first night they all found themselves staying up chatting until 3am over some wine! Finally it was great to have our meals all together and we quickly found out that the best part of a meal isn't always eating it!
A wonderful home that truly compliments the beauty of Niagara-on-the-Lake, would recommend this home to anyone.
Response from Regent House - 04/24/2011
Thank you so much Alex for choosing to stay at Regent House to host your mom’s 65th birthday. We are thrilled to hear that your celebration was such a success and that everyone enjoyed the comforts that Regent House has to offer. We look forward to having your family stay with us again in the future.
