Description from the owner

Right up the hill from the quaint village of Sayulita in the state of Nayarit, nests our three bedroom house. It has two great kitchens, a 40 foot pool, verandas, terraces and decks to enjoy the magnificent Pacific Ocean's views. The house is nestled in the middle of the jungle, the waking calls are from the local wild birds and the crashing waves. The seclusion and the quiet of the area is enjoyed all year long. The house has three floors, the top floor is the major living, dining and cooking area with a chef's kitchen, the lower floor has the master suite with its own spacious bathroom and one bedroom, the lowest floor has the guest suite w...Read more

      Magia = Magical

Left on 04/08/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We just returned from an amazing week staying in Sayulita at Magia. This was our first time in Sayulita and it did not disappoint. Sayulita is a laid back town with a wonderful beach but not filled with Spring Breakers and overdevelopment. The town was full of energy and offers plenty of wonderful restaurants, street vendors and bars but the best part was having the best of both worlds at our fingertips. A short trip up into the jungle hills to Magia and voila, complete peace and quiet.

Magia was one of the few places we've stayed which was actually better in-person than the photos. The wonderful-yet-subtle design and features of the home, the sights, jungle sounds and that view are hard to translate in one-dimensional photos. You simply have to experience it firsthand. Picture flocks of bright green parakeets flying past you, geckos chirping and you start to get the feeling.

All of the amenities were well thought-out and you have everything you need to enjoy a quiet vacation. Cameron and Miguel ensured everything we needed was provided. The open air shower in the master suite added a special bonus.

The walk into town isn't terribly difficult but we ended up renting a Jeep, which allowed us to explore outlying areas. If you rent a golf cart, make sure to reserve one first. I also rode the bus into Bucerias to get the Jeep and I found the service dependable and cheap. The bus stop is just down the hill from Magia.

I would recommend this home to anyone interested in a memorable experience in Sayulita.

      Best rental in Sayulita

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My fiancee and I were blown away at how well equipped Magia was. Cameron was very helpful and even so kind as yulitato call and check up on us once we were settled. Do not be discouraged by the location. We read multiple recommendations and reviews all of which painted a picture of a castle on a mountaintop but the location was exactly what we were hoping for. If you're looking for privacy in a secluded, tranquil home, look no further. Albeit a bit of a journey to walk into town, we looked forward to the hike up and down the steep driveway and did it twice a day when we were without transport. We rented a golf cart for the majority of our stay which was both fun and efficient - highly recommend it for those worried about the proximity to town/beach. The sounds of crashing waves was very prominent at night, combined with a gentle breeze that whisked across the hilltop made for a very relaxing atmosphere. Love the pool, love the hammock, the drinkable tap water, the in-sink disposal, the quick internet, the security system, the list goes on... Do yourself a favor and remove yourself from the hustle and bustle. When was the last time your took a shower in the open air?!?

      Casa Magia...Perfection!

Left on 12/12/2012 for a stay in December 2012

Casa Magia is absolutely incredible! I'd venture to say one of the best homes in Sayulita!

The house was the perfect place to unwind and relax during a busy, fun filled wedding weekend! We all were looking for a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, and Casa Magia
      was absolute perfection!

From the photos and all my email correspondence with Cameron, the owner, I was assured it was going to be great. Cameron answered all of emails promptly and was very helpful in all aspects of the planning. The photos accurately reflected the properties appearance and amenities, yet its much better in person! The gentleman, Miguel, who manages the property, is especially helpful and kind. From the views, the spacious bedrooms, the very, very well equipped kitchen, the pool, and the management of the property, Casa Magia far exceeded my expectations.

I highly recommend staying at Casa Magia. And I can't wait to go back!

Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

      Luxury Living in Paradise!

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Cameron and Fiora's incredible Sayulita home in Sayulita. The house is amazing, the location is amazing, the view is amazing, the town is amazing and the surfing is amazing. If there was a stronger word than amazing, I would use that instead.
The home is close enough to hear the ocean but far enough away so that we didn't hear the noise from town. The "birds and the breeze" is what we started calling it after the first day. I can't say enough good things about our time in Sayulita and how much we loved Magia. We'll be returning very soon. Thanks Cameron and Fiora for a wonderful time.

      Perfect Retreat!!!

Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in January 2012

What a beautiful place, so well designed with every detail considered. The accommodations were perfect; we had everything we needed, and then some. Of course the views of the ocean were magnificent, but so were the views of the property, from every angle.

The location is great; close to town, but not too close. Some days we never left Magia, enjoying the pool, cooking meals in the wonderful kitchen, and feeling the gentle breezes fill the veranda. Other days, we could easily venture into town for some local food and talk.

We can't wait until we can stay again.

Modern, comfortable & chic vacation rental.

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012

My husband, friend and I stayed in the Master w/ guest room for one week. Both the town of Sayulita and Magia far exceeded our expectations. The main living space upstairs is spacious and modern. Our mornings were spent making breakfast and lounging around main room. We would then enjoy the 1/2 mile walk down to town and the beach (note: there is a dirt path on your right as you head down the cobblestone road about 30', take this path into town). I heard that some past guests have complained about the steepness of the walk to/from the house into town -- we all found it quite enjoyable. Keep in mind you are 200' above sea level, which is where the town sits. The only "tough" part of the walk is literally the last 30'. From my perspective, this walk allowed me at least one extra margarita per day :) After our beach time we would return to the house, enjoying the pool, views, and relaxing surroundings. Every night we walked back down into town for dinner and/or drinks. I never felt unsafe walking to/from our house into town at night.

(FYI - This place is not for kids. "Safety" rails do not go to the ground. For instance, off the master suite is a walkway, which abruptly stops, if one wasn't paying attention they could easy fall 10' below. This is not an issue whatsoever for adults or older kids. Indeed, I found it added to the charm of the modern house. It should be noted, however, I wouldn't feel comfortable having kids under 10yo here.)

Cameron (the owner) and Manuel (the manager) were easy to work with, responsive to all inquiries and bent over backwards to help us have an enjoyable trip.

We used a car service to get from PV to Sayulita, which worked great. The service we used was Jose Ramos Taxi. We were picked-up in a Suburban, taken to a large grocery store in route to Sayulita to stock-up on food/beverages while the driver remained with the car so we didn't worry about bags getting stolen. At the end of our stay, the same driver took us back to the PV airport. This service was very convenient and well worth it.

      Best vacation rental ever!!!

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

This house exceeded all my expectations which is putting it lightly.
Nothing was left out. Cameron has thought of everything! From the towels for the beach to the best water filtration system in town. Full maid service, gardening and even the pool had a self cleaning system 3 times a day.
The only challenge is the steep hill the house sits on when you hike up from town; make sure you are in decent shape. And when it rains the taxis will not make the drive.
Other than that the house is in it's own private hillside with high security fencing surrounding the property.
The beds are super comfy and did I mention there's a view of the ocean??
If you go to Sayulita snatch this house up.
      Best deal in town!

Left on 12/14/2011 for a stay in December 2008

We had seen the pictures of house and Sayulita but they don't do them justice. The house is amazing, huge spaces to relax in and everything was wonderfully comfortable. The house had everything, just needed the tequila and the limes.

The location is great. Very close to the town and beaches but far enough to be tranquil and peaceful. Being situated on a hill gives you spectacular views and sunsets.

A very nice and calm place to stay for some days or more time. You are in the middle of the jungle with a stunning view over the bay but only 5 minutes away from the village, so its perfect if you want to chill and relax a while at the house or get to beach and take part in village live.

Location, location, location, just unmatched: vista's that take your breath away and never stop amazing you with beauty & inspirational sights. Facilities are exceptional in all respects: gorgeous design, craftsmanship & "work of art" quality. All is made for ultimate comfort in living, eating, and just enjoying a wonderful work of master artisans who have created & amazing place. Services simply wonderful and timely and as fine as you'll find at any five star resort.

The kitchen & living area is just wonderful and so well laid out, that the cook is often distracted by the many vista available.

The pool is perfect, relaxing, & so well designed for all that a pool and courtyard can be.

Bedrooms are large, great beds, bath, and complete furnishing well suited for the tropical environment and so comfortable.

For me the only problem was my picking a stormy season of late august, so I did get some spectacular thunder & lightning events, Magica was just fine.

A superb value in all respects. Do enjoy!

      A slice of paradise!

Left on 11/21/2011 for a stay in April 2010

My wife and I spent several nights and days in this ideal treehouse-like setting, with all the modern conveniences of home. Checking in and out was completely painless.

Each night we fell asleep on fluffy pillows in a perfect bed to the sounds of the ocean and a soothing warm breeze, and each morning we awoke to sounds of jungle birds off in the distance. It was truly a slice of paradise that we never wanted to leave.

A pleasant stroll down the road, close but far enough from our little hideaway, sat the quaint beach town of Sayulita, with its wonderful restaurants and cute shops.

Often though, we couldn't wait to get back to house, where the afternoon sun and the private lap pool were calling. Evenings in the living room, with its 180-degree view, were as festive or as calm as we chose. We can't wait to get back there again!

Left on 11/20/2011 for a stay in February 2009

I serendipitously heard of Sayulita from three separate friends and knew there must be something special. Well, indeed and even better than special--magic! We came upon Magia through friends and had truly one of the most amazing experiences here. the home is exquisite, the care impeccable and the service truly exceptional. Having traveled around the world this modern marvelous home nestled in the mountains of Mexico overlooking nothing but green and ocean is without a doubt one of the most precious I've seen. We loved it so much we've been back twice and hopefully this next year as well with our new little bundle. The owner's are beyond accommodating and highly recommend this home to anyone interested in unique paradise and a little bit of magic!

      Stunning Proptery

Left on 11/16/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Casa Magia is a true gem. Located atop a crest just outside the central area of town the natural beauty of Mexico stands out. With an open floor plan that offers some of the most stunning views I've seen you really feel as if you are staying in a luxury tree house. Amid the greenery there are beautiful ocean views, the sunset shouldn't be missed!

The home is clean, well managed and easy to navigate. With separate sleeping areas this is a great home for groups. The pool can't be missed and the wonderful kitchen makes at home cooking a breeze.

The house manager is knowledgeable and friendly and will make getting situated easy as well as help out should anything happen while you are there. The cab drivers in the plaza are well acquainted with the Casa Magia and a ride is inexpensive and quick. Don't skip the walk into town however, as it's a great way to see some more of Sayulita, but remember this is a tropical area and you will need to take care walking down the hill.

I'm already dreaming of the next time my travels will bring me to Casa Magia.

Amazing Vacation Home with a View!

Left on 11/14/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Nothing can compare to the beauty of Sayulita, except perhaps Casa Magia. It was a struggle each day to decide if we should explore the beautiful little beach town or enjoy the amenities of Casa Magia, nestled atop a hill overlooking the town and ocean. The location is breathtaking, with views of the jungle and beaches. The sunsets and sunrises were a must see every day, especially from the hammocks or pool.

The house manager was very helpful and getting situated was a breeze. The home is very safe and secure, with easy, walkable access to town through a small pathway. If you need to take taxis, all of the town knows where the home is so it was very easy to navigate even with limited Spanish. I've never stayed in such comfortable and beautiful accommodations. Casa Magia was really the icing on the cake of an incredible Mexican vacation, and I look forward to coming back again.

      Amazing Home in the Jungle

Left on 11/14/2011 for a stay in November 2011

This house is simply amazing. I have never stayed somewhere so beautiful.

The view from all the rooms is great. The design of the home is wonderful. From the top room you feel as if you are on top of the world. You have the best views of the jungle and ocean that I have ever seen.

The master is wonderful with a shower that takes your breath away.

The pool is a great spot to relax after hiking or walking around town.

The town and beach is a short walk away from the house. Beware bring a good pair of shoes. The hill leading to the house is steep. I made it down everyday in flip flops. But you need shoes or flips with a good grip.

Overall this was one of the best vacations I have ever had. The house made the stay. I would Rec it to anyone. It is the best home in Sayulita!

      An Experience to Remember

Left on 11/05/2011 for a stay in April 2011

My experience at Casa Magia was unforgettable. This was our second stay in two years and I believe it was even more magical then the last. My friends and I stayed in the main house, which offers magnificent views of Sayulita's coastline and town. The house is nestled in the quiet mountain landscape which provides privacy and lends to the tranquility of the landscape.

The aesthetic of the main house lends to this experience as well. The floor to ceiling doors open completely. I loved the openness and felt closer to the surrounding nature. We enjoyed daily yoga sessions on the patios each morning and then swam in the afternoons...what a peaceful setting!

Our experiences renting from the owner, Cameron was great. The follow up was incredible and I could not have asked for a more friendly and trusting relationship. He knows all the great secrets of Sayulita, and is quite possibly the best reference for where to go and what to see!

Thanks to you and the beautiful home that was created, my friends and family will continue to share this magical experience. I'm so grateful!
