“Loved it all!” My family and I had a wonderful time on our vacation this summer, and the main reason is because of where we stayed! Everthing was fantastic! We truly enjoyed the house, the location, the yard with the pool, and the proximity to the beach. We felt very safe and taken care off by your great staff and highly recommend renting from Abbey del Sol!

“Wonderful Vacation! Amazing home” What a beautiful home and a lovely neighborhood. I highly recommend hiring a car, there is a lot to see and do locally. We went into the town several times and enjoyed the local restaurants and shops. The highlight of our trip was renting a small boat with local fisherman for the day - he took us to Coronado Island where we snorkeled, beachcombed and sunbathed. A really wonderful experience that I highly recommend. The Loreto Bay community is very friendly, although it is an older crowd - 55+ but we had a fun time, being invited to several impromptu happy hours at local homes and enjoying an open mic night at the local wine bar!! A really wonderful vacation - I will be back again for sure!

“Luxury to the Max! Best PV Vacation Ever” This place is unbelievably beautiful- Spotlessly cleran- sure the maid comes in but it is obvious that the owner takes care to keep things up because the furnishings linens, towels artwork cooking facilities ( no dull knives!) are all top notch. For foodies like us the kitchen was a dream but the condoo is right in Old Town with restsurants across and down the street. We loved cooking at the condo because it was hard not to leave. There is s fish store a block away and a meat store a fews stores down from that so lost of fresh food ( yes- a a french pastry shop across the street- odd sight but we were happy to grab a few fresh goodies. The owner also gave us the name of a local woman who came in and cooked for us with tomnes left over. The layout of the place is great for families or couples travlling together- the place is massive and the bedrooms way doen the hall so some can stay up and enjoy the deck and perhaps some extra tequilas and it doesn't disturb those who go to bed earlier. The place is really secure with a regule security patrol but you don't feel cut off from the world. The beach is a stones throw( lierally) from the property but the huge infinity pool ( really big - I mean it!) is great to sit around. I can not recommend this enough-

Stunningly beautiful Villa with Wide Private Beach

Mahahual villa

“Gorgeous relaxing Caribbean villa” Everything that past reviewers have said about Casona Palms is true. It is truly a Caribbean paradise, private, secluded, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere encourages you to sit still and relax while soaking in the gorgeous view of the sea and listening to the wind rustle in the coconut palms. The beach is kept raked clean by the caretakers, the kayaks are ready for your use, and the lounge chairs await you and a good book. The house is pristine, tasteful, and more than comfortable. Michael the owner provided us with extremely helpful and complete information on the house and surrounding area, including great driving directions. We enjoyed trips to the village of Majahual, quiet and lazy when the cruise ships are not in, but more shops are open on cruise ship days. You can occupy a table on the beach and slip in the water for a swim between margaritas. There is a great pescaderia that sells fish and lobster fresh off the boats every afternoon. Ask around for antonio the owner. We enjoyed an excursion to the stunning Mayan ruins of Chocchoban. We went on a day when the cruise ships were not in and had the entire place to ourselves. We spent a couple days with Nick Denbow, a delightful local fishing guide and British expat. The men in our group went bone fishing with him one day on a nearby lagoon, and our entire group went bird and wildlife watching with him on the border between Mexico and Belize. We experienced dozens of stingrays swimming past our boats and leaping in the air in the Chetumal Bay and were thrilled by gentle giant manatees approaching our boat in the river. I can recommend Casona Palms without hesitation.

About Mexico

Mexico is a land of warmth and hospitality, a place of beauty and challenging contradictions. Untouched natural forest, coral reefs, and white sand beaches exist next door to dizzying crowds. Noise coexists with silence, and breathtaking wilderness lies a short distance from bustling, colorful markets. There are endless things to do and see here, and the theme of your trip can vary greatly depending on where you stay. If you find a vacation rental in Mexico City, you can take a guided tour or community excursion to visit local people and learn about life and culture in Mexico. Or, if you'd like to escape from humanity, you can disappear to the quiet beaches of Cozumel. While you are here, learn more about Mexico's ancient history with a tour through Mayan ruins, or strap on a snorkel or diving tank and sink below the waves to get an up-close look at whale sharks and sea turtles. After a couple of days of eco-adventures, surfing, hiking, and museums, relax in a luxury spa or under the golden sun at one of Mexico's unforgettable white sand beaches.

Here a few additional suggestions of things to do in Mexico:

  • Go scuba diving in Cancun: See the wonders of the ocean ecosystem from below. If you're certified, you can begin your adventure immediately. If not, many outfits will offer the lessons you need to have you on your way.
  • Disappear to Passion Island: Just fifteen minutes away from Cozumel, Isla De Pasion is a secluded beach paradise, an island of luxury to call your own.
  • Go eco-touring in Cabo San Lucas: Take a guided excursion through the bioreserves around Cabo san Lucas. Go snorkeling, have an off road adventure, and see a turtle release.
  • Museums: View the breathtaking ancient pieces at the pottery museum in Guadalajara.

Whether you spend a long weekend in a luxury villa in Cabo San Lucas or rent a beautiful beachfront condo in Puerto Vallarta and stay for the entire summer, you won't run out of things to do and see in Mexico. Find a rental near the beach or get lost in the crowded markets and night life of the city's urban centers. Whatever you do and wherever you stay, the wonders of Mexico are sure to stay with you long after your visit is over.

Moorish-style quiet oasis retreat in the old town with bay view
Superb hideaway in downtown Puerto Vallarta

We stayed at Ibiza 2 for a week from late Aug through the US Labor day weekend in Sept 2022. Few gringos during hurricane season and Mexican students had just resumed classes - keeping Mexican tourists at home, also. We enjoyed hanging mostly with natives ! English widely spoken. All prior positive comments incorporated by reference. The Ibiza location is great: it is a 5 to 10 minutes walk downhill to almost everywhere in downtown PV (less than 0.5 miles). Within 10 minutes leisure walk, we get down to the Malecon, a number of great restaurants and grocery stores. Don't miss the Cacao Museum, just up from the Malecon. The Cafe de Artistes is touted as Mexico's #1 restaurant. Even though we spent US$200 for two for dinner, you don't want to miss this gem - only 2 blocks away. We also visited the Hotel de Siesta that blocks the view of the Bay of Banderas in order to dine at the Panorama restaurant up top. Only $50 ! Windows open wide to feel the breeze at spectacular sunset. OXXO convenience store 4 blocks downhill on main N/S drag Morelos has an ATM machine that does NOT charge the outrageous conversion rates that others charge. Also, there is a hard to find Amber beer in a Modelo 12 pack, with Wheat, Negra and Lager. Uber/Taxi rides to most popular places are roughly $10 to $15 USD/trip. We took local bus back from Punta Mita for US$2 each - instead of US$120 quoted for cab. We also took slow local bus back from Mismaloya [site of filming of Night of the Iguana in 1964 that put PV on the US map] for US.50 per person. Was US$10 for the 20 minute drive TO Mismaloya using InDriver app - an Uber-style transport app that permit bargaining for a cash payout. Offer 75% of the quoted Uber rate. Lots of pluses for Ibiza 2: the hostess Lupe is friendly and warm - accessible via WhatsApp. The ground floor condo is clean, attractively furnished and with ample supplies for in-house meals. 5-gallon drinking water is provided (saves time and energy to get bottle waters from grocery stores). The swimming pool is readily available - right outside the door - for a quick dip on a hot summer day. Washer and dryer IN THE UNIT is superb amenity. The washer comes in very handy when we came back from the beach. The ability to complete a quick rinse of salty swimwear and quick-dry pants is very nice. Neighbors on either side and on the two floors above are friendly and welcoming. Another big plus is the private courtyard at the back; immediately accessible from the bedroom. This allows a breeze to cool the place down in the evening more quickely - essential since there is no mechanical airconditioning. Fans in both bedroom and front living room work well. Don't forget to walk uphill to the Mirador. View is outstanding. Avoid mid-day sunshine.see more
Casa Colonial, Cozumel Villa Indigo, #1
Absolutely amazing

We rented two villas for our family during our recent trip to Cozumel. Both villas were identical and perfect for our family. Well stocked with amenities, check in was so easy. The hosts were very attentive to when our ferry arrived and left offering assistance and guidance. The heated swimming pool was a pleasant surprise! The turtles became our friends! It was quiet and peaceful and spacious and just absolutely amazing!!!see more
Vacation in Downtown San Miguel. Close to Jardin. First floor, one level
Comfortable, bright and cheery

Casita Centro was perfect for us, a retired couple. Although it was just a block + from all the noise of El Jardin, we found it to be quiet, due to very thick walls. Beautifully decorated, well furnished, great bathroom (shower was terrific) and, while the kitchen was tiny and awkward, we didn't spend much time in it anyways. Filtered water was a definite plus. Plenty of towels, cleaning service each week, and a site manager who responded to calls almost immediately. Wonderful rooftop garden and views! Probably the best part, though, was its location. We were so close to everything that walking was never a problem. Who needs a car?see more
2 Bedroom Beach House - Nice Pool - Fully Fenced Private Yard - Pet Friendly
Perfect place for a week in the northern Yucatan!

Casa Leila is probably one of the best rentals we have ever had. Roger was a fantastic host, answering many questions before our trip and keeping in touch during our stay to ensure all was going great. He also included a complete guide to the house, area restaurants, and nearby things to do. The house is nicely decorated and comfortable, located in a quiet area. The backyard was an oasis paradise and made our stay. Although the beach is just a two-minute walk, we spent most of our time in the yard enjoying the sun and pool. You can always find sun or shade with the gorgeous gardens in the yard. The pool temperature was always refreshing. A pool cleaner and gardener came once during the week. We could take long walks (2 hours) on the beach heading east. The area was safe and friendly. We enjoyed many good restaurants in Chuburna, Chelem, and Progreso. For excursions, we booked a food tour in Merida (Eating With Carmen), saw some Cenotes and Aztec ruins in the area, and walked the Malecon in Progreso. A rental car is a definite requirement, and the person Roger recommended was top-notch (we arrived late in the evening, and he left us a car at the airport without a signed contract so we could get to Casa Leila that night and deal with the rental contract the next morning). We would stay a Casa Leila again if we returned to the area.see more

Great place to stay

Great House!

This was an absolutely amazing house and is just as great of a location. Buzzards Bar down the street had excellent food, the house was a very short walk to the beach and comes with a golf cart that has 4 seats. Much to my surprise, we had maid service every morning. We chose to have a butler for 4 hours every night and Saib was the nicest man and did everything above and beyond. A truly dream vacation. I can’t wait for our next trip to Cabo.see more
