The region of Agel is "Minervois", a wild and far away from tourist part, very beautiful with a lot of wine and tipical mediteranean vegetation. The castle is from the XII century with an old familial atmosphere. This medieval castle consists of the main building, four towers and a dovecote, extensive terraced gardens covering 2 hectares (5 acres) and a swimming pool. If you wish to find the ambiance from the past, you will enjoy the large lounges, the library, the spacious rooms the swimming pool and the park. For family vacations or vacations with friends, it is possible to rent the entire castle, the park, the pool (up to 18 people).The castle have 3 living rooms, 1 library, 1 office, 2 dining rooms, 1 kitchen, 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a cave, park of 2ha. On the ground floor: a spacious entrance hall leading to the Great Hall, the small drawing room, the library with a pool table and the dining room, kitchen and lavatories nearby. On the first floor: the upstairs drawing room, four double bedrooms, one triple bedroom, four bathrooms.On the second floor: 1 drawing room, 2 double rooms, 1 triple bedroom and 3 bathrooms the two-hectare (5 acre) park: the orangery, terraces, box hedges, heated swimming pool, Close to the chateau vineyards and possibility of vine tasting… possibility chef or housekeeper on request.

“Perfect venue with perfect hosts!”
I stayed at Chateau d'Agel for 7 nights with extended family and friends we all had one of the most memorable weeks of our lives. The Chateau, steeped in history, is in excellent condition and is tastefully furnished and decorated. The grounds, gardens and pool are very well maintained. As a holiday home the Chateau has all the amenities required but with massive bedrooms and bathrooms, it also feels like a 5-stay hotel. The real charm about Chateau d'Agel is its owners Martine and Jean-Marie. They are perfect hosts who gave us as much help and advice as we needed without being overbearing or interfering during our stay.
