Description from manager

Description

Turello is a lovely detached 2 bedroom cottage set in total seclusion with a private pool. The house is set in extensive grounds (30 hectares!), including vines and chestnut woods, and has terrific views over to Barga and the mountains beyond. This is a really peaceful retreat, yet within walking distance of facilities (bar/basic shop/restaurant 1.5km) and a very short drive to the beautiful city of Barga!

The house:

On the ground floor there is a spacious well equipped kitchen/diner, with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave as well as a fridge/freezer. Fireplace.

Door leading to covered eating area.

The kitchen leads through open plan to the living room which has large double doors looking out on the garden.

Also on the ground floor is a shower room with WC, sink and shower.

Upstairs, via a spiral staircase (or via outside if guests prefer) there are two bedooms - a twin, which leads through to a double. Both rooms have doors leading outside and a single sofa bed.

WIFI

Outside:The piece di resistance for this house has to be the grounds! There is a good sized private pool at 10 x 5m.Pool Shower. Large sunbathing patio.Covered area for al fresco dining in the shade.BBQ and wood burning pizza/bread oven. 30 hectares of land to play, relax or picnic! Complete with olive trees, chestnut woods, flat ground for playing. Stunning views at every turn!

All this at a very reasonable price...Just relax!!!!

NB: Last part of approach road is very steep, but perfectly do-able in an ordinary car.

A little about location:

Situated in Albiano, with stunning views , this property is a perfect retreat, less than a 5 minute drive from the Mediaeval town of Barga, with its hilly windy cobbled streets, duomos, 10th Century cathedral and ancient architecture.

Barga is also renowned in the area for its good quality, but reasonably priced restaurants.

There are often outdoor concerts/plays performed many times free of charge with performances ranging from Rock and Pop, to Jazz and the Classics.

Within walking distance, (1.5km) is the village of Albiano, where there is restaurant/bar/basic shop but hilly, bendy and no pavements/lighting.

Barga itself is circa a 5 min drive.

1 hour 15 mins from Pisa, 1 hr 40 mins from Florence; 50 minutes from the beautiful walled mediaeval city of Lucca and close to the National Parks of the Apuane Alps.

Hilltop villages abound, and exploring can be either townie or totally rural - the choice is yours, if you can tear yourselves away from the garden!

TOURIST TAX - Do note that there is a local stay tax applicable at €1 per person per night, up to a maximum of 5 nights. This does not apply to children under 14.

Great spot to relax with my family for ten days. A warm welcome, immaculately clean with well thought out little details. The pool and outdoor space were the highlight.
