Description
A recently beautifully renovated barn finished to a very high standard with all modern facilities. It consists of four (one of which is a double on the ground floor) large bedrooms and three shower/bathrooms and toilets (one shower room is on the ground floor). There is a large open lounge/dining kitchen area with a big woodburner.
There is access to gardens behind with beautiful views and surrounded by countryside. There is a partly below ground pool of 8 x 4.5 x 1.2m accessible at ground level at one end via enclosed terrace
It is just above the village of St Laurent La Vallée two minutes by car or 20 minutes plus walking down the hill to it where there is a very useful grocery store and very good friendly bar/restaurant.
It is very peaceful surroundings but still near enough to most of the sites and chateaux and caves around the Dordogne within 20 minutes.
The area is suitable for walking, canoeing, cycling, golf is nearby and many beautiful villages and towns, namely the beautiful town of Sarlat within 30 minutes by car.

“Excellent gite”
We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay here. The gite was great and really well equipped especially for a toddler and a 7 month old baby - high chair, travel cot, stair gate, CBeebies channel.... The pool was nice on a hot day and is a great size for young children. The toddler had great fun splashing in it and the 7 month old enjoyed his first swim! The house is in a great location close to all the main attractions - castles like Castelnaud and Beynac, the river for paddling, boat trips and canoeing, an aquarium at Le Bugle, numerous markets and pretty towns and villages like Sarlat, Domme and Belves. The hosts Matthew and Susie were lovely and very welcoming and were on hand to provide local information if needed. All in all a great place and would highly recommend.

“EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR ALL AGE GROUPS”
We had a wonderful week in August with our children aged 15, 13 & 9. The barn is in a quiet spot but offers is a great location to see the area with lots of lovely places to visit. It offers home from home accommodation, bedrooms are all a good size and also has a very well equipped kitchen. Views are stunning and the garden has lots of space for children to run around. It was also great to stay in accommodation where all those little things you may have forgotten are catered for and where there are more than 2 spare dishwasher tablets and washing powder provided if you need it! The area is great for older children with lots of cycling routes and the beautiful Dordogne for kayaking and canoeing. Equally it is a good location for younger children with lovely river beaches nearby and medival castles. The owners Matthew and Susie were great at keeping us informed of all local events and activities. They couldn't have been more helpful.
