My mom and I stayed here on June 8th for one night. We stumbled upon it when we attempted to rent a cabin on the edge of the town. The cabins were all booked but the manager recommended the Bertrem Place to us and even contacted the owners on our behalf.
Penny and Desmond did a wonderful job of renovating and decorating and they were friendly and hospitable. Everything worked as it should - even WiFi. The beds were very comfortable and our only disappointment, is that the sun rose very early when we visited...around 4:30 a.m. Shades to block out the sun in the bedrooms would have been nice.
As a bonus, we had a great view of an ice berg from the house that was not too far off from the shore. There's a lighthouse close by and a small museum. As well, this place is located maybe 10 mins. or so from Elliston, home of the Puffins (May - Sept) and a number of root cellars (some of which were open so we were able to peak inside). There are stairs to the bathroom and bedrooms and the ceiling heights are about 6ft. high, but if this isn't a problem, this is a perfect place for 1 to 2 couples or a family of four to stay comfortably!
We would have liked to have stayed longer but we were touring the Avalon Coast and we only had a week to do it.
