“Special experience” I have been invited by Carlo several times by now. The first time I went there I expected a beautiful home, since he had showed me some pictures. Nevertheless I was not prepared to the feeling of warmth, to the elegance and to the decor of the apartment (the building and the small garden are very nice too!). Bellagio is a most fascinating village with a unique view of lake, mountains and country hills. Cà Maria is a perfect setting to enjoy this miniature heaven from its balcony that overlooks a very quiet corner of the lake. We explored the area around, practiced sport, did shopping and went to good restaurants. In the evening or at mid day it was inviting to go back home and feel the breeze from the lake; to rest with a glass of wine on the balcony or to fall asleep on the magnificient king size bed made each end of the day perfect. Carlo is a charmig host and has the gift to make you fell welcome. Every stay had been special, I believe that the only downside of the place is to leave it.

“Excellent villa in a beautiful location” We were three families holidaying in this wonderful villa with our children, ages 9-16. The kids loved the pool and us adults enjoyed soaking up the Umbrian sun in the well-maintained gardens. We explored the local area-Montepulciano, Isla Maggiore and Castiglione del Lago (market Wednesday am). We also did Siena on the train. Would have liked to have done more,but a week is not enough. Katia was such a welcoming host,nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much Katia, hope to see you in a year or two!

“Wonderfull stay in Mrs.Ingrid´s house” Excelent and pleasand accommodation with full comfort, cosy appartment, friendly care of Mrs.Fallnhauser. “Gorgeous apartment; Great location.” We stayed with our 4 year old in this lovely, light and spacious apartment for two weeks and it was so relaxing I had to use my mobile to remind myself what day it was! The apartment is as good looking as the pictures and with a small boy the washing machine, with washing powder and softener all provided, was extremely useful. A small point: if you (or your kids) need your room to be dark in order to sleep then bring something to cover the large windows because the louvres on the shutters are fixed unlike other places we have stayed. It is a great location, easy to get a bus or ferry into Como, or ferry up to other beautiful villages on the lake like Bellagio or to the cable car in argegno; and from a practical point of view it was easy to walk to the large supermarket or into the town for the lovely bakeries and coffee shops. If you like chocolate ice cream try the gelato fondente at "Ronchi Milano" in Como on Via Garibaldi - it's so dark it's almost black and the espresso was one of the best too. The lido was too cold this early in the season and although we braved it once even with high daytime temperatures June is too early to swim regularly (and it wasn't that clean when we were there). Joy gave us loads of information about many of these things before we arrived and was extremely helpful, friendly and communicative as was Ruth who met us at the apartment and gave us a very useful and informative quick tour of the town.

“Paradise” Varrena is delightful and Casa Mara a homely Italian apartment right in the centre; quiet and comfortable. The other reviews describe the apartment well. We were two couples enjoying exploring the central lake area. The ferries are fun and easy... lots of nice restaurants abound and many many interesting walks. We shall return!

“Home away from Home” It's the people you meet along your journey that make your trip memorable. Avi and Ruthi are two very special people and were the ultimate host and hostess. We recently spent 3 nights at their charming B&B; overlooking the Sea of Galilee. It was a very comfortable and welcoming home and the breakfast every morning was fantastic!! However, what makes avi and Ruthi exceptional is how they cared so lovingly for my daughter in law when she was sick. They couldn't have been kinder. We will forever be grateful to both of them.
