“Absolutely sensational” We were two couples in our 60's wanting a great self contained villa,with great views, close to amenities, but not in amongst the crowds. Villa dei Fiori, surpassed all of our expectations. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two reception rooms, a great kitchen, a balcony and an outdoor area 'to die for'. Luca and Mary, were gracious hosts, generous with the food and drink, which we did not expect, for your arrival. We liked the property, because it felt like a home. The location and views were perfect for what we wanted.

“Beautifully furnished and equipped apartment in a wonderful loca” Fantastic views and a great location. The apartment is incredibly well furnished and equipped; the owner has thought of everything. Our daughter found the sofa bed very comfortable. Great selection of books and Dvds. A short drive to either Como or Bellagio. The restaurant "Vapore" is directly below; excellent service and very reasonable prices.

“Fabulous place to stay,helpful owners,perfect location” This is the second time we have stayed at this fabulous villa. We have always found the owners to be welcoming, extremely helpful and very friendly. The accommodation is finished and maintained to a high standard with all home comforts and the appliances you might require. The upstairs apartment is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The garden and surrounding areas are lovely and once again highly maintained. Even though car hire is a must, For us, the location is perfect. There is a short and pleasurable drive (approx 15-20 mins) to the beautiful shores of Lake Bolsena, where you can spend some time in the medieval old town or relax at different points around the lake.The location of the villa makes it very easy for taking in the numerous sights locally and a little further afield. There is so much to see in this beautiful area of Italy that we are going to have to return!

“Perfect views & comfort on Lake Como” Believe it or not, the photos don't do it justice -- the views and house are even more beautiful. It's also perfectly situated for visiting Bellagio, and all of the wonderful villas and towns nearby -- that is, if you can tear yourself away from the views. Monkia, the manager, was attentive and informative and warm -- the restaurant and touring recommendations were terrific. SO much nicer than staying in a hotel -- even if a hotel had THOSE VIEWS.

“One of Italy's best kept secret village, with fabulous villa acc” After discovering different parts of Italy many years ago, it was always something we wanted to do as everything about the Italians and their way of life appealed to us. We spent many years going to the Middle East and now we thought why not try Italy again, we came across abruzzo and this fabulous property and just absolutely fell in love with it. We were captivated by the area and it's outstanding beauty both on the coast and in the mountains. The Villa location gives us unbelievable views of lake Bomba that you never tire of. The villa has everything you will need for your Italian dream holiday nothing was missing it is like home from home. “Rooms with a view!” One of the most peaceful and beautiful locations we have stayed in. Wonderful memories of sitting on the terrace outside the well-appointed house high in the Tuscan hills, with a distant view of the leaning Tower of Pisa, wooded hills all around, birds singing, a glass of local wine from the Colle Verde vineyard (north of Lucca)in my hand - absolute perfection! We loved this part of Italy and will be sure to visit again. Lucca is a must-see place, which we preferred to the busyness of Florence. Luisa and Colin were very friendly and helpful hosts, even offering to do an initial shop for us prior to our arrival. The drive up from the road requires a bit of skill and good tyres, but our two drivers were experts by the end of the week!

“The perfect stay” We have just returned from Mas du Bois Dore, and enjoyed the flexibility of staying in both the Deux Cheveux and Chauffeurs accommodation (both 2x bedrooms). They are both superbly equipped with mod cons, the former perhaps best fro families with 2x bunks in one room. But the real beauty of the place is all around you. Access via the circuitous roads may be seen as a draw back to some, but to us it gave the place its very character and tranquil identity, helped by the Natura 2000 designation of the Siagne valley over which you look. Frankly we are loathed to say more as this is a gem we would not really want to share, but we can deservedly acclaim the staff here, Jane in particular, who made our stay perfect - the right degree of help and isolation given. Despite restricted roads to the site, there is plenty to see nearby, and an excellent supermarche near Montaroux. We loved it.

“Excellent villa in a beautiful location” We were three families holidaying in this wonderful villa with our children, ages 9-16. The kids loved the pool and us adults enjoyed soaking up the Umbrian sun in the well-maintained gardens. We explored the local area-Montepulciano, Isla Maggiore and Castiglione del Lago (market Wednesday am). We also did Siena on the train. Would have liked to have done more,but a week is not enough. Katia was such a welcoming host,nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much Katia, hope to see you in a year or two!

“Gorgeous apartment; Great location.” We stayed with our 4 year old in this lovely, light and spacious apartment for two weeks and it was so relaxing I had to use my mobile to remind myself what day it was! The apartment is as good looking as the pictures and with a small boy the washing machine, with washing powder and softener all provided, was extremely useful. A small point: if you (or your kids) need your room to be dark in order to sleep then bring something to cover the large windows because the louvres on the shutters are fixed unlike other places we have stayed. It is a great location, easy to get a bus or ferry into Como, or ferry up to other beautiful villages on the lake like Bellagio or to the cable car in argegno; and from a practical point of view it was easy to walk to the large supermarket or into the town for the lovely bakeries and coffee shops. If you like chocolate ice cream try the gelato fondente at "Ronchi Milano" in Como on Via Garibaldi - it's so dark it's almost black and the espresso was one of the best too. The lido was too cold this early in the season and although we braved it once even with high daytime temperatures June is too early to swim regularly (and it wasn't that clean when we were there). Joy gave us loads of information about many of these things before we arrived and was extremely helpful, friendly and communicative as was Ruth who met us at the apartment and gave us a very useful and informative quick tour of the town.

“Paradise” Varrena is delightful and Casa Mara a homely Italian apartment right in the centre; quiet and comfortable. The other reviews describe the apartment well. We were two couples enjoying exploring the central lake area. The ferries are fun and easy... lots of nice restaurants abound and many many interesting walks. We shall return!
