“Life changing experience!” Please convey my heartfelt thoughts to Wayan and Putri for their exceptional care and love that they showed my Daughter and myself during our stay. I didn't give enough credit when Wayan asked me about my preferences when we switched to staying at the home closer into Ubud. We honestly preferred the Swallowhouse after experiencing the second location because of the comfort of the beds, the fantastic night air, and the incredible culinary delights that Putri graced us with! Being a Master Chef, I have great appreciation for the meals that she provided. Also, being a world traveller, I can't express enough gratitude for the care that Wayan took for our tours and giving us a life changing trip and precious memories that I hope to build upon when we return to Bali. As two very adventurous women traveling alone, he provided all the added information and kept us safe during our entire stay. We feel incredibly honored and blessed to have visited places like the temple ceremony, his son's school, and his home compound and village, along with the authentic crafts and artisan villages that he supports. We loved seeing the "real" Bali and meeting the generations of families who share their generations of knowledge and products for those interested in having that kind of experience. Wayan asked if there were any suggestions that we could give and honestly, there is only one to have greater internet access for both Mac and Pc owners. However, I say that reluctantly, because a huge part of the charm and beauty of the Swallowhouse lies in being able to really unplug and become immersed in the culture and experience of Bali. There will always be travelers who need the upscale comforts but let them go to the big hotels ~ you honestly don't want that kind of person staying with you anyway ~ that comes from my years of working at The Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons! (high maintenance people are not fun!)

“Perfect villa for family” We have a wonderful stay at this magical villa. Staff were fantastic. Great place to stay for two families. Plenty of room for kids to play.

“Great Villa in Ubud” Enjoyed our xmas stay here at this Villa. The Villa's are setup well for relaxing in Ubud. Sitting in the pool and watching the scenery is great. Max and his staff are very accommodating and will help you book the attractions in the area. The villa is a about 20 minute drive to the Ubud township so being away from the crowds and in the rice fields is the appeal here. All of the attractions however will do pickups for free which is a good way to get into Ubud town. Cheers

“Best accommodation of our entire trip” Myself and two friends travelled to Bali late in January, which was the first visit to Indonesia for all of us. Our first stop was Angel Villa and it was the best introduction to Bali we could possibly have asked for. Annie and Rod (as well as being fantastic hosts) are so knowledgeable not only of Balinese culture, but also of the local surrounds, and so for Bali novices like ourselves, we found ourselves saying "We'll ask Annie when we get back" whenever there was something we didn't fully understand, and without fail, they had the answers. Their recommendations were consistently spot on, not only for fantastic local places to eat and drink, but also for shopping destinations like for silver jewelery etc, and the best ways to get around - locally, as well as off to our next destination. We stayed in the Poolside room, which is the larger room of the two on offer, and is lovely and light, with fans and air-con to relieve the humid and hot temperatures. On days we weren't out exploring, the Villa was a fantastic place to relax - we spent a lot of time on the balai or relaxing by the pool, reading, playing cards and/or having a couple of bintangs. The gardens are exquisite and provide a brilliant oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Given it's a homestay there is a fully equipped kitchen, and while we used it for snacks only, if you were interested in cooking a 'proper' meal you'd find everything you need, and the local supermarket is a 5 min walk away. The location in Mas is great - out of the crazy-ness of Ubud which is a huge plus, but still easy enough to get in to Ubud if and when you want to. Local market is spitting distance away for all things fresh (and is a must visit), as are cheap warungs for delicious local style food, as well as slightly more expensive restaurant style places if you so desire. Great bar called Dstar which has live music a few times a week is also easy walking distance away. Oh, and did I mention the pool?!?! As hosts Annie and Rod are very respectful - there when you need them, but at the same time it really felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time. There is no curfew, and we all felt very comfortable to come and go as we pleased. And I know it' might seem like a small thing, but over our couple of weeks in both Bali and on the Gili Islands, Angel Villa had by far the absolute best water pressure of all our accommodation choices! Loved staying here, would return without hesitation.

“Beautiful setting in an authentic Bali villa with everything you” Helen and Kadeo could no have been more welcoming. Helen gave us lots of information before we arrived and provided a few things we asked for including airport pick up and a brand new baby car seat. We were pleasantly surprised by the walk to the villa having imagined a bit of a trek it really was only 5 minutes through the rice paddies which we easily managed with two asleep children (aged 3 & 4) and our bags with kareoke help and a torch! It all added to a sense of adventure. In the day light this walk was wonderful and we saw beautiful views villas and lots of wildlife including ducks frogs dragonfly dogs etc to the delight of the boys. Karens breakfast was gorgeous and she was very good with the kids. The villa was beautifully decorated but so you didn't feel at home and they encouraged us to move anything around to make us happy. The two bedrooms outdoor ensuites and huge open plan living area was lovely with ceiling fans and aC. The outdoor patio, pool and Bali hut were stunning and very private with high walls and a lovely wooden door out to the paddies. We stayed 5 days and spent one at the elephant sanctuary which was well worth the pricy entrance, Kadek arranged a driver for around $30 au for 4-5 hrs. We felt quite close to Ubud centre too but didn't walk there only because it was a bit tricky on the narrow roads with kids but taxis were good and very cheap. We are at dreams cafe on the oath many times and loved the food and ambience my son started to look like banana fritters and my husband and I like nasi goreng! Amazing place and we felt so welcome thanks again to Helen for her lovely impromptu australia Day get together we were so kindly included in! Btw we took every mozzie repellant and had no problems or need for it also no sickness which is quite am achievement when your toddler eats off the floor! Highly recommend pondok iman for families or couples.

“Great villa with nice view at sunset in Bali see” We spend 11 nights at villa Mente and enjoyed the luxury of the villa, the pool and it's staff. We made several daytrips but we also stayed some days relaxing at the pool. Komang does the household and coocking. She made our holiday and stay at villa Mente unforgettable. Many thanks! “Spacious and Safe Haven in a Convenient yet Scenic Location” I stayed here for six weeks while I was on a part holiday / part business trip to Ubud. It was a really wonderful choice as I felt totally safe and loved there by the friendly owner and her very attentive staff. It was great to have the privacy of my own room, but yet Mary Lee, the owner, was always there for a friendly chat. Her team of three took amazing care of me and my room which was kept tidy every day and would even go to the market for me to buy fresh fruits. While I did not do much cooking there was the ability to cook a simple meal in the well equipped kitchenette. I also really enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool each morning. The apartment is set amongst rice paddy fields, but was surprisingly just a five minute walk to the main part of Ubud. I walked everywhere and found so many fantastic restaurants in the vicinity. Highly recommended for single women who want a taste of real Bali, but in a situation that makes them feel totally comfortable and safe.

“Your private paradise with large pool and seaview at Bali.” We have stayed for a week at the villa and it was really a 5 star experience. Villa Bersama has is a very spacious accomodation with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large pool and situated at the beach. Add to this the excellent staff who cleans, cooks and does the laundry. Chief Ketut makes all kind of delicious local dishes. A driver is available at a reasonable rate and the villa is guarded 24/7. There is a lot of interesting things to do and to see in the environment and our highlight was our private "taxi ride" to the dolphins at sea. We were picked up in front of the villa at sea by a local fisherman who took us to dolphins. We saw hundreds of them, a breathtaking experience!

“Well kept, beautifully situated villa on the shore of the ocean” Modern, beautifull villa with 4 private bedrooms and bathrooms, well maintained en well furnished inside as wel as outside. Nice art and decoration. Good size pool in a pretty tropical garden, also comfortable in the evening thanks to plenty lamps in and around the water

“A different view of Bali” What can i say about Villa Bayu except MAGNIFICENT. From the booking process to the airport pick up everything was wonderful. When we arrived it only got better. The view and Villa itself were stunning. We have been to bali over 20 times but have never had this experience. The lovely staff made our trip memorable with their kind and caring personality, the ladies even show my daughter and I how to make some Sate, Mmm delicious. Our driver fast became our friend, what a lovely man and expert driver. I simply can't say enough Great things about our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the lovely Lovina. Cant wait to book again for October. Cheryl

“Great place for an escape n tranquil” We came here for our honeymoon. And we wanted to be like a retreat, away from our daily routine n city hectic life. And we found the room we booked was a very nice room, clean n comfortable. Everything that in the picture was exactly what we had. The surrounding was very tranquil, a perfect venue for getaway. In addition we can still hear the sound of nature. So it's like we blend in with them. Do not worry of transport or finding recreation as there were so many activities available, as well as free shuttle to Ubud area. But don't look for a discotheque as it will be quite far and they don't have that hype around Ubud. The breakfast is sufficient and definitely delicious.

“Excellent stay in beautiful Bali” We stayed in Bali the week after celebrating Christmas in our current hometown Singapore. Bali was just beautiful and very relaxing. The home was in an excellent condition and the service outstanding. The staff made sure we had a very relaxing holiday without any worries or stress. The food was excellent…….better than in many restaurants. If you want to join a beautiful relaxing holiday without any hassle and lots of cultural experience, this is the place to go….

“A home away from home” We stayed at Rumah Tyang for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa is spacious, clean and tastefully decorated in Balinese style, as shown in the photos. The location is very convenient - about a 15 minute walk to Ubud centre yet quiet and private. There was plenty of room for 6 adults. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped. The lounge room does not have air-conditioning and can get a bit hot, but the bedrooms are all air-conditioned. The lighting is a bit dim and could be improved. The swimming pool was clean and very refreshing. The outdoor pool area was very pleasant in the evenings and mornings. The booking process went smoothly and Juliana was very prompt at answering any questions. The driver, Nyoman, was excellent – very helpful and a very safe driver. He met us at the airport and was available whenever we called him (a phone is supplied). He was happy to answer all our questions about Bali and organise any bookings for us. The house staff, Agus and Made, kept the house spotless and were available whenever we needed them. At the same time, they respected our privacy and only came into the house when we called them. They will cook you breakfast if you supply the ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place. It is very good value for the quality of the accommodation and the services provided.

“Like paradise” We have had a wonderful and memorable holiday. The staff is helpful, friendly and they are really doing all they can to please us. Every day we were amazed that everything went so smoothly. We were very pleased with the service mindedness and attention to the details that has made this holiday a great experience for all of us. Ita and Tommik made exellent food for us every day.

“Very authentic Ubud living from hospitable host” In our week's stay in Bali, Ubud was the 2nd destination and we loved it. No doubt Ubud is known for it's art works and culture and agung had made sure that his villa resembles the very essence of it. The villa is located right at the south-west edge of Ubud and is not the easiest place to be found. On the way, one can find all the marvelous wood carved artifacts on the village streets. The villa was built away from the main street in a quieter area with greeneries all around. It's amazing to find so much of trees around, yet there was not much of an issue with bugs/insects/mosquitoes. The kitchen is located just besides the cool private pool where we could enjoy the evening with some drinks and delicious local dishes. If you're interested in local cuisines, check out "Soka Kitchen" who had served the best authentic Balinese dishes at a very reasonable price (they also have home delivery which is even more convenient). None of the rooms got any aC, but Ubud is rather cooler compared to other parts of Bali and so we felt rather comfortable with the stand fans. Agung was extremely helpful all the way and gave us 1st hand experience of the local attractions and culture of Ubud. He himself had taken us around Ubud with visits to Monkey forest, the museums, art galleries, the spectacular rice fields. Pity we didn't have enough time to check out the Balinese dance or religious rituals in the local temples. A walk around the village in the morning breathing the fresh air and greeted with smiling locals is an unique experience and I'd suggest if you're looking for a trip to Bali, spend a few days in Ubud. Agung's villa can provide all amenities at a reasonable price for a family vacation.

“A little piece of Paradise” Beautiful villa set in equally beautiful surroundings, the ideal place to just sit and watch the world go by. Spend six days here split between just sitting around chilling out and being a bit more adventurous seeing the local attractions. Made the housekeeper was a wonderful cook and person who it seemed nothing was too much for. Gede was also always on hand to offer suggestions on possible excursions and organise them for you with his drivers Kadek and Putou who were also excellent. Then on top of that there was the gardener and night time security guard just to make sure everything was perfect. What more could you want?

“Breathtaking” Fully enjoyed our stay at Villa Bossi Banjar. We loved the Villa & the whole setting. The rooms are really nice and comfortable and the beds are great. The staff was lovely and they took really good care of us. Each night the ladies would cook fresh in really good quality. The location is a bit remote and hence very quiet and Laid back(which was what we were looking for) but in 15 car or motor bike ride you can easily access Lovina with restaurants and bars.

“Wonderful experience” We had a wonderful week here, Detu (our butler) looked after every need for us, meals that we had here were superb. Travelling around Bali ourselves meant that location was not a problem. The villa had every thing we needed to enjoy our stay here and we hope to return here soon.
