“Slice of heaven” I lost my husband of 34 years in 2005 and simply didn't want to return to the mountains until my dear friends convinced me it would do me good to go with them for a relaxing week-end at the Nelson's " retreat in the sky. I'm so thankful I went because we all had such a wonderful time. The home was impeccably decorated and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The views were breathtaking particularly from the deck. The home sits on top of the mountain so it was as though we could just reach up and touch the clouds! Our days were spent exploring the many shops in Bryson City or nearby towns and our evenings were filled with laughter just relaxing in the jacuzi, playing card games & sharing life's stories. We are presently working out details for our next "Golden" getaway this summer at the Nelson's Retreat and we can't wait!

“Best Birthday Trip EVER!!” My friends and I stayed at this cabin for my birthday this past winter and it was a blast. The place had so much personality to it that it really felt like home or the home of a relative. The only thing we had to bring was the food and beverages. We enjoyed the hot tub and even took a dip in the freezing cold river the first night we were there. We cozied up by the fire both inside and outside while we were there. We didn't do much fishing but we should have with all the fish we saw darting around in the water located just steps away from the cabin. The night skies were amazing to look at while we relaxed in the hot tub or some of us sat around the camp fire telling laughing and telling stories. This will definitely go down as one of my most memorable birthdays and I look forward to coming back again soon for a one of a kind experience!!!

“Great time at King's Mountain Laurel” We are two adventurous Senior Adult couples who wanted to get away from it all for Thanksgiving. That's exactly what we found at this lovely cabin on top of this mountain, and the owner was warm and friendly. We were comfy, warm and the views from the porch was incredible! The driveway was a thrill and not for the faint of heart, but we had an experienced driver so we had no problems. Daniel's Steakhouse served a great Thanksgiving meal; Georgia Mountain Restruant had a great breakfast, and we shopped and explored the surrounding area on Friday...Don't miss Bell Mountain (another thrill) in Hiawassee, and Mark of the Potter in Clarksville. “Quiet, comfortable, delicious, interesting and easy!” Quiet, tho we watched a movie and enjoyed the creek flow sounds; comfortable and pretty indoors and out; delicious organic goodies from the garden with tour; interesting to see and learn about the eco architecture; and super easy staying in or going to Bryson City or asheville. “nice, quiet, clean, all staff and owner very helpful” It confuses me that the original cost of the cabin was $95.00/ night and I found out later that I had Been Billed @$238.00 /night, 716.00 total, I understand that there are cleaning fees and taxes to be paid, but to more than double the agreed price give me a break....flip key has a lot of nerve to do this.

“Perfect pet-friendly cabin with style and a view!” Location is great. Easy to find and get to. Few minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. Has all the accomodations for a perfect, relaxing weekend. Spectacular view of the mountains from the front door/inside the cabin/on the deck. Hot tub worked wonders for relaxing and recuperating.
