Rustic Cabin, Appalachian Elegance

Asheville apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Breathtaking” This rustic cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Being up on the mountain we were out of the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to venture out if we wanted to. The views from the porch were spectacular, especially as the sun came up, which you can watch from the comfort of the bed through a large window! The inside of the cabin is charming, with all of the comforts home including a full kitchen, bathroom with a stand up shower. The cabin was quiet and despite the owner, George being upstairs we felt alone. George is a great host! He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a quick tour of the cabin and best spots for pictures when we arrived. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer! We will be going back. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a quiet, secluded, cozy place to escape in the mountains.

“At least as good as advertised” When we arrived, we were met with a friendly smile, a lot of information, a good quick tour of the location, and a bottle of wine with two glasses. We wanted a pet friendly place, and I kind of expected some evidence of other pets - smell, scratches, etc. We found nothing of the kind. Which is great when one of us also has asthma and would be sensitive to a dirty place. For the holiday season, they even had a tree in the corner. The fireplace is great. The great room is huge. And the views were terrific. The bedrooms were more than enough for us. Master bedroom was huge and kids enjoyed the second floor space with two twin beds and a TV. We came to visit the asheville river arts district and to take our kids on the Great Smoky RailRoad Polar Express Tour. Both events were close enough. But we also stopped by the Biltmore and the National GingerBread House Contest at the Grove Park Inn. (Got a nice tip - pay for a morning massage at the Grove Park and get use of their spa facilities all day). I'm a runner, so the high grade gravel road to the house was not to my liking for that. Altitude, steep hill, thin road that was a bit slippery. But I also went just a bit higher than the house to the RV Campground and not only found great hilltop views, but also tons of trails that wound around the hills. These would be terrific for exploring with the kids and dogs on another trip. We will definitely look to this house first for a return trip. I should note that though the house felt very remote, anything we wanted was close by. We had a need for a pharmacy and groceries right away and they were quick to get to. We even found a decent Thai restaurant in a strip mall close by. Other restaurants looked good. But the proximity to downtown and the River arts area was surprising. Had to be only three highway exits away and no traffic.

“Just a Great Place” We got to the cabin and were tired, we got ready to make coffee and realized we would have to go to the store to get some cream. Opened the fridge an Muffi had stocked some cream (Moo Moo Minis). I tell this story because it is the way things seemed to go for the next few days. So many of our needs were met and anticipated. The "eye candy" of the cabin was just grand, the craftsmanship superb, windows in unusual places, high quality windows, and very clean, very quiet neighborhood, easy parking, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore. Very nicely done, As Arnold S. says "I'll be back"

“Hidden Gem” Stumbled upon Reva's place just looking last minute for accommodations for the night, but we found so much more. The property is gorgeous, not too far outside of Asheville but far enough away to see every star in the sky. The animals were a fun touch and the trails around the property were great. She offers a ton of spiritual healing packages that I'd like to come back and take advantage of, the only thing we used was the hot tub that was tucked away on the property and was wonderful to watch the stars at night. Would definitely recommend!

“Breath-taking mountain views!” One of our BEST get away locations ever! Far exceeded our expectations! The mountain views were spectacular and the house is beautifully designed down to every little detail......while very comfortable/relaxing. We were 20-25 min from downtown and the Biltmore Estates, but really looked forward to hanging out in this cozy cottage after site seeing. It was truly the highlight of our weekend trip. If you like nature and scenic views, this is the place to be. When we arrived, there were wild turkeys in the yard......so cool!

“A Relaxing Mountain Escape for the Whole Family” My family (two sets of parents, myself, my husband and aunt) all stayed here in October for a fall getaway. The home itself was very nice. We loved the high ceilings, the large family room and the long dining room table. There were even some games and puzzles that we enjoyed. The living room had a nice wood burning fire place that kept us warm in the evenings. The was a small TV upstairs, but we couldn't get it to work, so we had to retire to the family room downstairs if there was a desire to watch TV. The quality of the TV in the family room downstairs was wonderful! It was a nice large, HD flatscreen, which was perfect for watching Sunday football. There is another fire place downstairs. We also enjoyed the large outside deck and a dip in the hot tub with a glass of wine, which was a relaxing treat. The house is close a grocery store, which was very conveinent and downtown asheville is only about a 10 minute drive. The place was clean and well appointed.

“A cozy getaway so close to everything!” We went with 3 other families and our young toddlers and the home was super kid friendly. They supplied us with a high chair and pack and play as well as a gate for the stairs. They really thought of everything. The home had all the kitchen supplies that we needed and we spent many evenings just hanging out and grilling relaxing in the house. Very clean and comfortable.amazing views as well!

“Couldn't think of a better place to be outside of Asheville!” This cottage is wonderful! Especially waking up in the morning and seeing a slightly cloudy sky over the mountains. Very soothing for the soul. Ron & Rachel are also very friendly and went out of their way to make the cottage feel as homely as possible. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!

“Wonderful get away” We had such a great time. The accommodations were perfect. The house was impeccably clean and the beds were so comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful too. It was just what six overworked moms needed in a girls weekend away. Asheville is such a fun place to visit. We enjoyed the restaurants and the shopping. We even managed to get a spa treatment. We will definitely be back again.

“Perfect Peaceful Spot on the River” Jack and Christy were great. We briefly mentioned we were “getting away” for our anniversary and they had champagne and a lovely card waiting for us. We travelled to the area to visit Biltmore, which is a must see. The cabin is about 25 mins. away from Biltmore and is a perfect spot to enjoy peace and quiet and enjoy a little nature. We sat by a fire in the evening, listening to the river rumble and were able to see a deer come to the river as well as ducks and an Osprey glide between the trees. It’s only 5 mins. from I-40 but you feel like you miles and miles away from anyone. Jack and Chrsty, thanks again for your hospitality. Your beautiful cabin and attention to detail throughout made our anniversary one that we’ll remember for a long time. Oh- and the frosty beer mugs in the freezer were much appreciated.

Moonlit Chalet at the Preservation Stay with Amazing Views

Asheville house

“Wonderful historic home, beautifully decorated and spacious enough to host many guests.” It was a dream come true to stay in a historical home. The property was tastefully decorated and maintained the feel from an earlier era, but yet had all of the modern conveniences we enjoy today. It was a joy to wind up the driveway each day line by the rock wall to the spacious home that awaited us. The nights were cool enough to doze of to sleep each evening by the warmth of the fire place. And the accommodations and rooms were ample enough to have family and friends as overnight guest without feeling squeezed for space. Further, we hosted several more guests for multiple dinners with ease. The spacious home provides inviting places inside and out for parties to dine and recline. The owner of the home Julie has thought of everything. Can't wait to return.

“Comfortable, quiet, and close to everything” The house is on a quiet street in the River Arts District. This area has many galleries and really good restaurants. The house has very comfortable beds, a full kitchen, wi-fi, and tv. Enjoyed the rear deck for watching birds in the morning and fireflies at night. Sat on the front porch eating breakfast and listening to bird songs.

Great getaway

Had a wonderful stay! The pool and hot tub were perfect, great to have a grill also! The home was clean. We didn't find a sheet pan to cook our tator tots on, so you might want to bring a few essential pans if you plan to cook there. The owner responded quickly to messages, which was nice since the email we received that was supposed to have check in and access info didn't have any. We also didn't find any checkout information, so we just did the basics of starting the dishwasher and taking out the trash. The neighbor did come over to bring the garbage cans to the garage, and scared us to death because she didn't knock on the door or anything. We are thinking of coming again and bringing the kiddos next time!see more

We wanted to escape and the cabin was perfect to do just that. With hiking right out the back door, we were able to avoid large crowds at the more popular hiking places around. Well-stocked and comfortable with gorgeous scenery. We slept with the windows open and fell asleep to the sounds of the stream and bugs each night. Loved it.see more
