“Loved it!!” Really enjoyed our stay. We went with a group of friends and brought our 3 and 5 year old. It was nice that the pool table was on the bottom floor and the room where the kids stayed was on the third floor. We were able to put the kids to bed and hang out with everyone without having to worry. The location was great easily accessible to everything!!

“A Great Weekend away” A group of ladies went up for a weekend away to this beautiful cabin just outside of Boone. There was plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed the contemporary decor. The hot tub was a nice place to relax and we felt right at home. The wood detailing throughout was warm and inviting. We all thought it was a beautiful home and look forward to visiting again. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals were great to work with and the cabin was very clean. We will have a few extra blankets for the basement bedroom, but that was a minor blip in the overall experience. We had a great time!

“The perfect trip! Awesome!” Wife and I recently spent our 15th anniversary in "A Mountain Dream"...and, it was a dream, indeed! Cozy, quaint, a true "cabin feel"...beautiful views and plenty of privacy. Terri was more than wonderful to work with...she was patient and understanding with all my questions...she made the entire process extremely easy. We plan on returning this fall! Thank you, Terri! “Beautiful Cabin - We are repeat visitors!” My family and I have stayed at this cabin twice already and plan to return. This cabin is truly special, every detail has been taken care of and the owner alexandra is a pleasure to work with. Her passion alone for her cabin and the mountains are enough to make you want to stay here! First we stayed for Christmas 2010 and made the most beautiful family memories. 6 of us stayed very comfortably, there was room for one more. Everything was very clean, lots of warm blankets throughout the cabin and a lovely fireplace. Alexandra even had a small Christmas tree and ornaments for us to decorate when we arrived on Christmas Eve. Truly a special touch! My husband and I returned in February 2013 for the Valentines day holiday and loved every minute of our stay. We used the kitchen to make breakfast and dinners, visited Grandfather Mountain and a few of the local wineries. This cabin will always have a special place in our hearts and I cannot wait to visit again. Next time I would love to visit in the summer to enjoy the white water rafting and zip-line!

Tranquil Log Cabin with Beautiful Long-Range Views
Banner Elk log cabin

“Ski trip in North Carolina” This is a very nice cabin. Walking in, I find it clean and well maintained. The boys (2 teenagers) are pleased to find a foosball table and a ping pong table in the basement. Kitchen: Adequately stocked with cookware. Gas range works well. There are food items already in the fridge and cupboards. The stuff in the fridge is only in the door, so there is space for our stuff. The stuff in the cabinets doesn't leave enough room. We condense the owner's food into fewer cabinets and then we have room for ours. No problem. Bathrooms: Clean. There are only showers on the top floor. The basement bathroom (third bedroom down there) has a tub, but it doesn't drain. It's cold down there, so you better be a hearty soul if you shower in the basement bath in the winter. The shower I used had one of those fancy removable shower handle things. I wish it only had a simple shower head as it sticks too far into the small shower stall. Has to pour water straight down. You are getting your hair wet no matter what. It's a minor annoyance. Living quarters: Hardwood floors, nice couch. Tv is a large CRT. No flat screen. It is in good working order with Dish network. The internet has problems. There is an old NetGear router. I've always seen problems with that brand. My MacBook was too much for it. The red light would keep coming on and I would have to wait for the router fix itself. Occasionally I would have to reboot it. Accessibility: I like seclusion and the scenery is very beautiful. We arrived during a snow fall and it was dusky. Follow the instructions the owner sends you. Gps will take you on bad roads not knowing any better. One road is washed out and it almost caused a major problem for us. The cabin is at least 40 minutes from any of the fun stuff in the area. I like that. Others in the family would have preferred to be closer to Boone. Overall, I really like the cabin. The problems I mentioned are minor, but you should know.

“Unbelievable location and did so many things at this unique cabi” Easy to check in and out. The outside and inside look even better in person. The way it was designed & decorated was so creative with all the small touches around the cabin. Very clean throuhout the cabin and on the outside. The location was perfect. Anything you could ever want to do: Golfing, hiking, fishing, skiing, tubing, canoeing, and site seeing. At the community center you can even play volleyball, basketball and other activities. They have 24 hour security in this gating community with partrol cars. I loved the fire pit in the backyard of the cabin and it has the biggest loft I have ever seen. You could walk out the cabin and start hiking on the trails. River in the back and a huge lake steps away. I'm so glad that we decided on this cabin for our vacation. Thank you very much to the River Cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“Relaxing and carefree” We had such a wonderful and memorable weekend. Very picturesque and ever so quiet when you're there mid season. There were wineries and breweries within a short driving distance, and the local restaurants are spot on. I would not suggest using GPS, it gets you in the vicinity but not to the right house. Thank goodness for pictures of the house. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, but bring your own trash bags and sandwich bags etc. The master bath and bed is very nice. We loved the bed so much that we are buying a mattress exactly like it because we slept so well. My only other suggestion would be to have the house ready for arrival. The house was cold, and the entry way was not swept, I picked up a few pieces of trash laying around on the driveway, but I am a Manager of a very nice Boutique Hotel so I notice these small things. All in all it was so lovely and I would definitely stay again.

“Wish I could live here!!!” My husband and I stayed here for an extended weekend with our five year old son. We have stayed in numerous cabins throughout the Boone area and this one is by far, the best one yet! The cabin has all of the amentities of a home, just bring your clothes and some food and you're all set! The cabin is very comfy, tastefully decorated and in a perfect location. We were far enough away from Boone to truly relax yet there is a grocery store five minutes away. We grilled out each evening on the wonderful wrap around deck. The sunset view from the deck and hot tub are absolutely amazing! I wish I could experience this every evening! My son fell in love with the hot tub, we could not get him out of there!! We truly appreciate the little things about this cabin. There were fun games, Netflix access (which was great for our son!!), etc. My husband was impressed with the surprise beer he found waiting for us and I enjoyed the complimentary wine :) This is truly a home away from home. I was very sad to leave and we will definitely be back, hopefully very soon :)

“New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home.
