“Breathtaking Cottage with a Big Heart” Staying at Meadow Branch Cottage was by far the best vacation location we have ever found! The location was absolutely amazing, close enough to town, but far enough away to feel secluded and enjoy time together. The cottage is set perfectly on the mountain overlooking the green farm and views of the mountains. The outside area was perfect for relaxing and enjoying time alone. The cedar soaking tub is what set this cottage over the top! The view of the stars at night while soaking was breathtaking. We will definitely be back to this cottage!! If you are looking for a clean, eco friendly, organic location for your trip, this is it! We even stayed an extra night to enjoy the cottage one more day!!

“At least as good as advertised” When we arrived, we were met with a friendly smile, a lot of information, a good quick tour of the location, and a bottle of wine with two glasses. We wanted a pet friendly place, and I kind of expected some evidence of other pets - smell, scratches, etc. We found nothing of the kind. Which is great when one of us also has asthma and would be sensitive to a dirty place. For the holiday season, they even had a tree in the corner. The fireplace is great. The great room is huge. And the views were terrific. The bedrooms were more than enough for us. Master bedroom was huge and kids enjoyed the second floor space with two twin beds and a TV. We came to visit the asheville river arts district and to take our kids on the Great Smoky RailRoad Polar Express Tour. Both events were close enough. But we also stopped by the Biltmore and the National GingerBread House Contest at the Grove Park Inn. (Got a nice tip - pay for a morning massage at the Grove Park and get use of their spa facilities all day). I'm a runner, so the high grade gravel road to the house was not to my liking for that. Altitude, steep hill, thin road that was a bit slippery. But I also went just a bit higher than the house to the RV Campground and not only found great hilltop views, but also tons of trails that wound around the hills. These would be terrific for exploring with the kids and dogs on another trip. We will definitely look to this house first for a return trip. I should note that though the house felt very remote, anything we wanted was close by. We had a need for a pharmacy and groceries right away and they were quick to get to. We even found a decent Thai restaurant in a strip mall close by. Other restaurants looked good. But the proximity to downtown and the River arts area was surprising. Had to be only three highway exits away and no traffic.

“Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“A Relaxing Mountain Escape for the Whole Family” My family (two sets of parents, myself, my husband and aunt) all stayed here in October for a fall getaway. The home itself was very nice. We loved the high ceilings, the large family room and the long dining room table. There were even some games and puzzles that we enjoyed. The living room had a nice wood burning fire place that kept us warm in the evenings. The was a small TV upstairs, but we couldn't get it to work, so we had to retire to the family room downstairs if there was a desire to watch TV. The quality of the TV in the family room downstairs was wonderful! It was a nice large, HD flatscreen, which was perfect for watching Sunday football. There is another fire place downstairs. We also enjoyed the large outside deck and a dip in the hot tub with a glass of wine, which was a relaxing treat. The house is close a grocery store, which was very conveinent and downtown asheville is only about a 10 minute drive. The place was clean and well appointed.

“Great quiet get away with river view!” This house fit our family of four perfectly. It was well maintained, charming, and a lovey location. You can hear/see the river from the deck and it shares a garden space with the other property which has river access, a pond, and fire pit. The street is super quiet and only about 15 mins away from downtown. Loved the fireplace! Rebecca who manages the property was so kind and helpful...even giving us kid specific suggestions of what to do in Asheville. Would stay there again, and/or try the next door property which looked amazing as well. Thank you!

“Awesome place with lots of nice touches!” Jane's guesthouse was perfect for my stay in Asheville! The property is tucked into an eclectic Asheville neighborhood close to several great restaurants, and outfitted with lots of quality touches that made it more than comfortable for me. The bed was wonderful, the walls were decked with original art, and the utensils and equipment in the kitchenette was top quality. I will definitely be staying at Jane's guesthouse again. Wonderful!!

“Perfect place for a get-away” Every 5 star review is correct. This place is perfect in every way. To give you a sense of how large this place is-it is above an oversize 3 car garage so there is plenty of space. Milan greeted us when we arrived and gave us a carton of half and half for our coffee. Coffee is in the refrigerator. Everything you need is in the apartment. Linens and towels are upscale. Milan and John were so friendly we felt like we had been lifelong friends. We would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Asheville and will definitely consider for another trip to Asheville.

“Warm, charming home and hostess!” Our sons live in asheville, and we had wanted to stay there for Christmas for a couple of years. The one non-negotiable amenity was a fireplace---Green Gables has 3! The home is lovely, and our hostess Georgia even more so. When she discovered a few hours before our arrival that we would be celebrating Christmas the next day, she redecorated the house with wreaths and a small lighted tree, set out wine and cookies, and addressed every member of our party by name in a welcome note. We were very impressed with the level of attention she gives her guests, personally taking care of all the details from booking to follow-up emails. The house is cozy and comfortable, with an old-fashioned soaking tub, gas range, large-screen TV, electronics, internet access, laundry facilities, wonderful beds...just like home, only better! We had fun cooking in the well-equipped kitchen with goodies we bought at the local food co-op. The house is close to downtown, and in better weather we could easily walk to many places we like to go in asheville. We visited the Biltmore Estate, the Southern Craft Guild shop, rode on the Blueridge Parkway, and of course had chocolate extravagance at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge. Doc Chey's restaurant on Biltmore Street provided perfect chicken soup for our son who was under the weather. (It was so good, we revisited the next day for lunch.) Georgia provides a large book with information on all these, which helped us plan our days. We have stayed for shorter periods of time in asheville over the past few years, always in hotels. Our week at Green Gables has cured us of that, and we will stay in our new "home in the mountains" whenever we can in the future!

“Cozy Cottage” We stayed at the lovely Red Gate Cottage in November for 4 days. It was perfect for 6 girlfriends on a get away. It has everything you could possibly need and the grocery is just down the road. We were unable to utilize the fire pit because of the burning ban but the fireplace was on while we were there and it just made it all the more cozy. There is so much to do in the Asheville area. We spent 3 days visiting the Biltmore during their Christmas event which was money well spent, but there is so much more to do there and the Red Gate Cottage is central to it all. Georgia was so thoughtful with the wine, cookies and leaving the lights on for our after dark arrival. The only downfall is that there are not mountain views but everything else is absolutely perfect. We'll look forward to staying here again in a heartbeat!

“Wonderful historic home, beautifully decorated and spacious enough to host many guests.” It was a dream come true to stay in a historical home. The property was tastefully decorated and maintained the feel from an earlier era, but yet had all of the modern conveniences we enjoy today. It was a joy to wind up the driveway each day line by the rock wall to the spacious home that awaited us. The nights were cool enough to doze of to sleep each evening by the warmth of the fire place. And the accommodations and rooms were ample enough to have family and friends as overnight guest without feeling squeezed for space. Further, we hosted several more guests for multiple dinners with ease. The spacious home provides inviting places inside and out for parties to dine and recline. The owner of the home Julie has thought of everything. Can't wait to return.

“A cozy getaway so close to everything!” We went with 3 other families and our young toddlers and the home was super kid friendly. They supplied us with a high chair and pack and play as well as a gate for the stairs. They really thought of everything. “Convenient location & responsive owners” The rental was in a delightful, quiet neighborhood & convenient to Parkway, shops & downtown Asheville. The owners were easy to work with & very responsive. Some of the furniture was worn & the landscaping not well maintained. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed the large, screened patio & numerous shade trees keeping it comfortably cool.

“Awe Inspired!” The cabin was wonderful. The Bison feeding was so much fun ,one of the Alpha males had such an assured look in his eyes it was almost regal. The bison burgers were to die first! While in the hotbed which is really nice BTW, we looked up and the sky looked like God himself filled the entire sky thick with glitter that's how many stars there were. When my dog went out here came the grey mini pony and my dog licked it's nose, I think they wanted to elope....LOL The Mtn Goats & Liamas were fun as well. We couldn't remember the last time we were so relaxed. We love Bison Overlook Lodge & we will be back!

“Couldn't think of a better place to be outside of Asheville!” This cottage is wonderful! Especially waking up in the morning and seeing a slightly cloudy sky over the mountains. Very soothing for the soul. Ron & Rachel are also very friendly and went out of their way to make the cottage feel as homely as possible. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!

“Hidden Gem” Stumbled upon Reva's place just looking last minute for accommodations for the night, but we found so much more. The property is gorgeous, not too far outside of Asheville but far enough away to see every star in the sky. The animals were a fun touch and the trails around the property were great. She offers a ton of spiritual healing packages that I'd like to come back and take advantage of, the only thing we used was the hot tub that was tucked away on the property and was wonderful to watch the stars at night. Would definitely recommend!

Top of the Line Asheville Mountain Cabin
Beautiful

The cabin was beautiful with lots of nice perks. J Kelly was extremely responsive and very helpful with recommendations and very detailed directions. The view from the porch was magnificent! The cabin was nicely furnished with lots of little extras that don't always come with cabins like condiments and spices in the kitchen and some shampoo and soaps in the bathrooms. It was very clean and comfortable. The cabin is conveniently located to Asheville and there is a large Ingles grocery nearby.see more
