“Perfect Trip!” We did not travel far from where we are from, but we felt like we had escaped to the most beautiful part of the middle of nowhere. Everything you forgot or might have forgotten was available, and the six of us (8 one night) slept completely comfortably. We have already inquired about returning in summers and winters to come. We were secluded, and the yard was perfect for our endless bocce ball games. Very worth it!

“Quiet, comfortable, delicious, interesting and easy!” Quiet, tho we watched a movie and enjoyed the creek flow sounds; comfortable and pretty indoors and out; delicious organic goodies from the garden with tour; interesting to see and learn about the eco architecture; and super easy staying in or going to Bryson City or asheville. We totally enjoyed it and meeting Linda!

“The perfect getaway location!” I cannot say enough nice things about this rental property- from the first email contact to the last, the Millers were outstanding with communication. The property offers a fantastic view of the valley that hypnotizes- before you know it, you've sat on the porch rocking the afternoon away. The cabin itself had everything you could ask for and more- just bring the food and you're good to go. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils & I was able to cook two nights/one morning there without needing a certain pot, pan, or spatula. The living room was cosy and there was enough t.v. channel variety to keep my teenage boys occupied during the short rainy period. The cabin was centrally located and we visited a mine, movie theater, grocery store, arcade, and several restaurants in the area all with in 20-30 minutes, many much less. I plan on making a return trip as soon as I can!

Retreat in the Sky...For Your Special Occasions...

Bryson City cottage

“Slice of heaven” I lost my husband of 34 years in 2005 and simply didn't want to return to the mountains until my dear friends convinced me it would do me good to go with them for a relaxing week-end at the Nelson's " retreat in the sky. I'm so thankful I went because we all had such a wonderful time. The home was impeccably decorated and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The views were breathtaking particularly from the deck. The home sits on top of the mountain so it was as though we could just reach up and touch the clouds! Our days were spent exploring the many shops in Bryson City or nearby towns and our evenings were filled with laughter just relaxing in the jacuzi, playing card games & sharing life's stories. We are presently working out details for our next "Golden" getaway this summer at the Nelson's Retreat and we can't wait!

“We loved every minute of our stay.” This cabin is just beautiful! We spent a week here. Mornings found us on the front porch enjoying the mountain air and the music of birds singing. It's a perfect location for just relaxing, bird watching or to set out on mountain adventures! Mingo Falls is nearby and the stunning view will have you wanting to stay for hours! Tom Branch, Juney Whank, Soco and Meigs falls are also nearby and all beautiful! We had several meals at the cabin and found all the pots, pans, utensils and table settings needed. It's a short drive to many restaurants and we located a Ruth's Chris restaurant on the Cherokee Indian Casino grounds for a special birthday celebration. I would highly recommend the Climbing Bear Creekside Cabin for anyone wanting to have an unforgettable mountain vacation!

Perfect cabin getaway!!

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend of our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The cabin has everything you need and the views are fantastic! Even if it rains, which it did a lot during our stay, spending time in the cabin is relaxing and enjoyable. We brought a deck of cards but there are plenty of games and movies if you prefer to use them. When the rain cleared we took advantage of the amazing recommendations the owner provided. We went up to Wayah bald, the secret swimming hole, and explored the trails just behind the cabin. There was a couple staying in the cabin below us, but they were far enough away we didn't notice them a bit. We actually ran into them at the secret swimming hole which was really funny we both had the same idea. We were thrilled to swim there and even stumbled upon the upper, more secluded, swimming hole by mistake from the Bartram trail. We used the grill for dinner and loved the views from the porch! We ended our second night with a fire and couldn't be happier it stayed dry that night. Our only complaint is that we had to leave- we absolutely loved our time there. I'd recommend this trip to anyone looking for a cozy getaway in the mountains where there are so many possibilities for outdoor recreation or if that's not your jam a quaint cabin where you can sit back and soak in the views without any distractions. I hope we get to come back again in the future!see more
