“It was great!” The only problems we had were: - internet didn't work and no password provided - there were only 3 bedrooms plus a basement room with 5 twin beds so we had to put an air mattress in the basement playroom which was very cold!

The Cherokee, Creek and Shawnee Indians hunted around West Jefferson North Carolina, well before the arrival of Peter Jefferson, the leader of a surveying expedition. His mission was to establish a line between North Carolina and Virginia.

Interesting 2-story older cottage, sits back from road & semi-private. Master BR upstairs with fireplace (window AC in Master, only.) 2nd BR downstairs. Bath on both levels. Lots of windows downstairs and ceiling fans. Nice seating/dining area on main level. good access, but a little difficult to find drive. (cottage sign obstructed by tree.) Nice yard. Comfortable, enjoyable weekend. Didn't have cell or cable/satellite TV, but good Wi-Fi service, but not a problem for a wked, for us. Location map on flip-key was not accurate, when booked (cabin is not N of Jefferson, but SE, about 10 mins, out.) Good communications with owner. Great family get away!

Well being from FL of course! there was one thing on our mind which was to go see snow ! and even though it was not snowing at our door step we were able to see some snow flakes and enjoy all the snow in the mountains ,from grandfather mountain ,to sugar hill and beach mountain which was great for the kids to go sledding. I was very happy with how clean ,and well kept it was. We went in a group of 11 that included 5 kids and one of them being asthmatic. I was concerned with the idea that pets were allowed previously, yet I was very happy I had no problems. It was great to get there and not have to worry, truly its name says it all. The only thing that did leave us a little in shock was driving down into the cabin driveway, in a expedition and my brother in law in his suburban was a little scary but we made out just fine and had a wonderful time, Enjoying some hot chocolate next to the fireplace was a dream in this cabin home. We loved absolute High! It was immaculate, and beautifully decorated with handmade quilts and folksy artwork. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and we loved the jacuzzi tub. Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at appalachian Mist! The cabin was exactly as described. The property was amazing with deck overlooking the New River. Hot tub was wonderful. We were lucky and had snow! Cabin was perfectly stocked. We truly enjoyed the double sided fireplace! Easy access and close to downtown West Jefferson. Recommend for couples or families. 4 Seasons Rentals are great! … see more
