“Wonderful historic home, beautifully decorated and spacious enough to host many guests.”

Reviewed 31 May 2015

It was a dream come true to stay in a historical home. The property was tastefully decorated and maintained the feel from an earlier era, but yet had all of the modern conveniences we enjoy today. It was a joy to wind up the driveway each day line by the rock wall to the spacious home that awaited us. The nights were cool enough to doze of to sleep each evening by the warmth of the fire place. And the accommodations and rooms were ample enough to have family and friends as overnight guest without feeling squeezed for space. Further, we hosted several more guests for multiple dinners with ease. The spacious home provides inviting places inside and out for parties to dine and recline. The owner of the home Julie has thought of everything. Can't wait to return.

“Pure enchantment - historical home with majestic mountain views!”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2014

We first discovered this historical home while staying at another of Julie's (the owner) nearby properties. We fell in love with it, never thinking we might actually stay in it one day soon. Unbeknownst to us, Julie purchased the home and restored it to its original grandeur. If you want to experience craftsmanship and a bit of the 1920s when it was originally built, don't miss this opportunity. We wandered from room to room imagining what the walls would say about past occupants if they could talk. With all the conveniences of a modern home, we had the best of the present and the past. The house sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Waynesville with spectacular mountain views. The driveway to the house is mostly gravel but easily navigable. We prepared our meals in the completely renovated kitchen and dined outside on the large covered deck in fresh mountain air. Every room in the house has unique features and beautiful views, including the master bedroom, but the best kept secret is an unassuming door that leads to a magical third floor suite. We began each morning with our coffee on the third floor while watching the sunrise on the mountains. Divine! Downtown Waynesville, with its charming shops and eateries, is a few short blocks from the house. We walked to town every day and never drove our vehicle after we arrived. We love Waynesville, but we found it hard to leave the house and everything it offers. The owner is absolutely wonderful to work with, and she provided everything we needed, including exceptional customer service. We have already booked a return stay at the house and we can't wait to come back!
