“Not too small. Not too big. Just right!!!” We stayed 10 days at The Nest and it suited our needs perfectly. My daughter and 2.5 yr old grandson managaged without a car verily easily. Just minutes from the City Cat ferry which gives you access to all of Brisbane. Just a 5 minute walk to Oxford Street for shopping, resturants, coffee, park and grocery! Will definitely stay here again!!!

“wonderful stay in New farm, we lived like millionaires for the w” we stayed at Le Moray for a week and found the place beautifully clean and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment had the most divine view of Brisbane city and the Story bridge. The pool was sparkling clean and the complex was very quiet and we found the residents very friendly. There is a bus stop right outside the complex and that takes you to the New farm shops as well as both ferry stations. New farm itself is wonderful with a village feel and lots of restaurants and shops as well as a large coles supermarket. The shops are within walking distance as well and there are bikes you can hire to ride along the river path. New Farm is also very dog friendly and we saw lots of people walking with dogs. Just up the other way on the bus is Fortitude Valley with more shops, trains and clubs, then its 5 minutes to the city itself. We loved our time in the apartment and were very sad to leave. Claudia the owner is a very pleasant lady who is easy to communicate with, flexible and very thoughtful, she left us cold water and milk in the fridge so we can have a cold drink on arrival, we also had toiletries and dishwasher stuff to get started. We would highly recommend Le Moray and can't wait to return.

Cliff Top Villa in Vibrant Bulimba

Brisbane house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Christmas Down Under” We (4 adults, 1 child and 1 baby) had a fantastic Christmas stay for two weeks at the Cliff Top Villa in Bulimba. The owners had made it very welcoming for all of us, especially for a six year old (who was spending Christmas in another country and worried that Santa might not find her) by putting up a lovely Christmas tree together with other Christmassy bits and pieces around making it so homely. Our party also had a 10 month old baby who the owners had again catered very well for. There was everything and more that we needed and plenty of space. We used Brisbane's CityCat on most days as the apollo terminal is just a short walk down the road from the villa and there is Oxford Street which is full of restaurants catering for all kinds of tastes and coffee shops within walking distance in the other direction. In fact there is nothing I can think of that we didn't love about the villa and its surroundings. We felt that the owners definitely went 'that extra mile'. Thank you Karen and Marek from the Reynolds and Reads, now back home in the UK!

About Brisbane

Brisbane, Australia

As the fastest-growing city in Australia, you could be forgiven for thinking that Brisbane is like any other urban sprawl with a hot climate.

But this east coast capital has a vibrant aesthetic, striking scenery and offers a unique, laid-back atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere in the world.

Find your perfect place to stay in Brisbane with FlipKey! Whether you want to relax, or go on an adventure, we have the perfect Brisbane vacation rental for you.

About Brisbane

Best known as “the river city” of Australia, Brisbane is a popular tourist destination with a lot to get excited about.

It serves as a gateway to the state of Queensland, often visited by those travelling to resort locations like the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.

Many who plan on “passing through” find that each area has its own charming character and lengthen their stay to make the most of the array of galleries, parks, beaches, bars and bands there are to enjoy. Others promise to return once they see just how relaxed and content both vacationers and the locals are!

Brisbane is known for its cultural and sporting events. In 1982, the city was host to the Commonwealth Games. Since then, the city has hosted the World Expo ’88, the final Goodwill Games in 2001 and most recently, the 2014 G-20 summit.

What to do in Brisbane

The number one must-see sight in Brisbane is Queensland Cultural Centre, located on South Bank and surrounded by subtopic gardens. The nearby spread of interesting architecture, including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Gallery of Modern Art and the State Library, is truly awe-inspiring. Lap it up before moving on to the next port of call, City Hall.

City Hall is a significant landmark in Central Brisbane. Built between 1920 and 1930, the sandstone behemoth still stands tall, fronted by its original row of sequoia-sized Corinthian columns. Inside, the foyer is finished with marble, sourced from the same Tuscan quarry that Michelangelo used to sculpt David.

Music gigs and art performances take place in the building’s auditorium regularly, with free concerts held each Tuesday afternoon. There are also free tours of the 85m-tall clock tower, which run every 15 minutes. You can snatch up some tickets from the on-site Museum of Brisbane.

Top Brisbane travel tips

Getting around couldn’t be easier in Brisbane, especially if you’re in the heart of CBD (The Brisbane Central Business District). There are all forms of transport available to visitors – public and private. You can rent a car, book a taxi or take the bus, rail or ferry services. This extensive network means that all areas are well connected to regional centers, interstate and overseas destinations.

The high-speed ferry service, CityCat is an awesome (and impressive) way to get around. It goes between Brisbane River, the University of Queensland and Apollo Road but is used by travelers and commuters alike so expect the occasional wait!

Whether you’re looking to relocate for the job or your dreams, check out the city with friends or simply stay for a family vacation, Brisbane is bound to make for an unforgettable time. It’s a destination that really has it all.

Chill on the Park Hawthorne Bulimba
An excellent stay

A family of three, we were looking for accommodation for a month-long stay in Nov/Dec. We were very pleased to have found this place. Importantly, it met expectations - the online and pre-arrival information perfectly matched the services on offer and the quality of the accommodation. We found the Nest very comfortable and were especially impressed by the bathroom (and, having a toddler, by how easy it was to keep the place clean and in good shape). We also made great use of the BBQ. The stock of towels, etc. is very good and we generally felt we had what we needed. A real bonus was the neighbourhood itself - we had not known what to expect but found Bulimba a really great base, full of good coffee shops. The proximity to the river and related transport is also very useful, for short or long term visitors. In short, we were very happy with our stay and would come back - and certainly recommend it.see more
Cliff Top Villa in Vibrant Bulimba
Perfect for a Brisbane Holiday!

The Cliff Top Villa is a great holiday HQ for touring Brisbane and other local sites. The accommodations are very neat & clean; the beds are very comfortable; the bathroom is spacious; a full kitchen is available in case you are a DIY cook; and there is a great porch area to enjoy your morning coffee or general relaxation. The location is ideal. You are just a few blocks away from Oxford St. with its trendy cafes, coffee shops, bakeries and wine stores. A few more blocks down the street and you can catch the City cat ferry system to take you right into the heart of Brisbane via the river. It's all there for you! One last thing, being from Seattle, Wa, it was awesome to wake up to the tropical bird songs in the area. Karen is very helpful and Marek is a font of knowledge about the area. We could have spent our whole 3 week vacation at the Cliff Top Villa.see more

Best view in the city. Very central and close to the water bus which made for easy moving around the city without a car. Lovely pool. Clean and modern decoration. Convenient in apartment laundry. Can't get better than this

My family stayed for 2 nights and booked the whole space. Chris and Trish were wonderful hosts who welcomed us into their home, and made our stay so comfortable. We chose to have our hosts cook our breakfast, and it was the meal of the day. My three teens were full for hours! The accommodation was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. We used the fold out bed, which doubles as a chair in the lounge room. Bathrooms were great with lovely fluffy towels to dry off after a hot shower - soaps and shampoos were part of the deal. The kitchen is small but fully functional with everything you could want for a short stay. Decent size fridge, toaster, kettle, electric frypan and more. There is also a big BBQ out the back which I didn't get time to use. The TV and DVD player were well used during our stay, as was the free wi-fi. But we also went for walks, and my teens rode their scooters around the many paths and to the nearby skate park. Chris and Trish have lots of knowledge about the local area such as where the good local restaurants and other attractions are. Both are engaging hosts and open to discussion about many different topics. My family can't wait to return to spend time at this quality B&B.see more

Fabulous Living!

My family came to Brisbane from overseas for my graduation and we stayed here for 9 nights for about $250/night. There were 6 of us in total. We were unsure what to expect as the pictures in the ad were not that clear & I also did not inspect the place prior to arrivals. As we arrived, we were blown away. The neighborhood was stunning! It was peaceful and clean...& everyone was so friendly. Annette greeted us at the door & showed us around the apartment. As we arrived, the apartment unit was simply breathtakingly gorgeous, and huge! I have never seen such a big apartment, it almost felt like a penthouse in London. The unit is equipped with everything anyone could ask for. There were free internet, cable TV, Dvds, good books, plenty of towels, & state-of-the-art kitchen and dining areas that can serve large numbers. Even my mum, who is very hard to impress, was pleased. Annette was very friendly and very easy to communicate with. She replied my calls, texts and emails on time and was very attentive. Location-wise, it is about 15mins by car to city centre. There is a train station and bus stop nearby but we did not try it as we rented a car, so I can't comment on the frequency of public transport that goes by here. There are two petrol stations nearby, and lots of groceries and eateries, as well as 24hour convenience stores. With a car, it was superbly easy and the living experience was first-class with all the amenities nearby and what the apartment has to offer. I highly recommend anyone to stay here, we wish we stayed longer. We did not felt cramped at all as the space was generous! The pictures that annette has posted don't do the apartment any justice. You will be very pleased and love every bit of the apartment. We will definitely be coming back to this apartment if we visit Brisbane again!!see more
