“Great break after recent hospital treatment.” Good welcome pack in accommodation which was appreciated. The cottage was excellent for our requirements with a pet labrador. The location was well placed for touring Cumbria and the Lake District. Although we did not take advantage of the amenities they appeared well managed and very good. We liked the available walks through the valley especially with our dog. Although no doubt temporary ongoing contruction work made for very muddy conditions on the approach to the cottage. The settee was not the most comfortable for a weeks stay.

“Lovely property, great location, warm welcome.” Stockwell Hall Cottage was immaculately presented, well equipped and excellently furnished, located in a tranquill setting enjoying views of the countryside and surrounded by animals and farmland. The owners provided a botle of wine, a freshly baked cake, eggs, bacon, milk, butter and bread, and two vases of fresh flowers. We had a thoroughly relaxing time, and were only a short drive from Keswick, Penrith and Carlisle, an excellent base for touring without the hussle and bussle of being nearer to the heart of the Lake District. Perefect! Would like to stay again.

“Lovely fairly isolated spot and a comfortable cottage” We were welcomed to our cottage by the owner and a plate of freshly baked scones. One of the first things we saw was a woodpecker!!! We loved the location including the sculpture trail and the woodland and the fact that it felt to be miles from anywhere. Very comfortable bedrooms and well-appointed bathrooms. Living area very practical for dogs. Cooking and dining facilities good. Would have liked more mugs and glassware to be available. We will visit again and next time try out the lovely spa.

“Heaven!!! Highly recommended ;)” Cosy homely feel, the owners were very welcoming and helpful always. Great location and hot tub was fab! Beautiful cottage with lovely log fire which made our Christmas week perfect including the Christmas tree provided, lovely touch. “A superb modern barn conversion that is top quality.” Carleton Mill Cottage is a lovely property finished to a very high standard. Located 3 miles south of Carlisle it is convenient for the Northern Lakes and the Eden Valley. Parking is off the access road in a small cul de sac of exclusive properties about 50 metres from the cottage. The driveway to the cottage is narrow so unloading a large car requires careful manoeuvring and with the accommodation being on the first floor some agility is required! On the main road a combined petrol station and Spa Shop is conveniently situated within 300 metres. Overall the place is great with friendly owners and we enjoyed our time there.

“Quick visit for mountain biking and beer” Although only a short stay it was a delightful one. The principal reason for the trip was to get out on a good mountain bike ride. Our ride was an all day epic starting from the front door and out over the fells, finishing in the pub in Hesket Newmarket just down the road. It was great to explore fells I've never visited before and a special mention should go to the Old Crown Pub in Hesket Newmarket for its great ale. The accommodation was clean and bright and surprisingly spacious. The cottage is approached up a drive that keeps you nicely away from the road and leads to a paved area which looks like a good spot to eat outside, although we didn't on this stay, preferring to walk back to the pub instead. Living room has a lovely view across the paved area to the trees on the valley side opposite. The cottage had a good sized modern kitchen and bathrooms which looked to have been recently refurbished, comfy bed and nice garden. I intend to visit again with family later this year.

“Great location for a perty” 14 friends helped me celebrate my 50th birthday at Melmerby Hall and a great time was had by all. This is a great perty house. The house is both spacious well equipped with anything you might need the house has a comfortable feel to it and all the bedrooms were of a good standard Jilly provided dinner on the Saturday night. The food was both plentiful and to a high standard On recommendation from Christine we went for a lunch to the Crown at Kirkoswald and again found a great welcome and good food
