“Luxury at affordable prices” A really great place to stay. Huge amounts of space. Beautifully decorated throughout. The kitchen is massive with everything you could need including a fridge freezeer larger than my own! The lounge has nice view with (for self catering accom) a very good TV and books. The bedroom is enormous and romantically furnished. A lovely bathroom too. Almost impossible to fault.

“Ideal location for peace & quiet, and bird life incredible!!” We loved this little cottage, because of its' location, the huge garden (not totally dog-friendly but fine for well behaved dogs) and surrounding woodlands.. loch just nearbye, wonderful log burner (unlimited logs) very interesting countryside - very friendly helpful owner.. yummy choc. biscuits and bottle of wine provided. Would love to stay there again but a 7 hr. journey from us. Quite interesting places to visit, i.e. beaches, parks and gardens, all within a few miles. Nearest main supermarket was in Stranraer, but a little village store in Leswait itself. The coastline up to Girvan and beyond is alo interesting, and we did see seals.

“A Hidden Gem” I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get this review on the website but initially after my stay I'd put one directly on Trip advisor not realising that holiday cottages have to go through their booking agents. However I stayed at Kouloura in February this year and it was the most fabulous "getting away from it all" experience! It is not a busy place at that time of year but the cottage was just amazing. Sandy and ann have put a lot of thought into caring about the comforts of their visitors. Sandy was most helpful with showing me where to go walking with my dog and made sure that I was comfortable with plenty of heating and coal during the cold snap. The beach was within minutes of the cottage and my dog and I just loved twice daily walks either on the sandy beach to the left of the cottage or the really intersting shell beach with lots of rock pools to the right towards the light house and beyond! Wilma who owns the local pub was so welcoming and friendly which just added to the experience. Kouloura is a beautiful cottage, comfortable and homely with so many loving touches. Southerness is a little haven in the wintertime if you can appreciate the natural side of life. Certainly not for people who want to be entertained and have everything at their fingertip without going in search for it! I'll be back for sure!

“Stunning Views!” Delightful little property, beautifully decorated and furnished,good idea to change white sofas to a more practical dark grey patterned as pet friendly. State of the art fitted kitchen but appliances were a little difficult to fathom, especially the newly fitted induction hob. The garden was a delight and a pleasure to sit and drink in the views as we were fortunate to have temperatures soar to 30*C and have dramatic sunsets and breathtaking sunrises. Steps to the beach were a little tricky and it is a mixture of sand and silt as it is an estuary. Apart from a long lane of these holiday homes and a handful of original buildings (including the now disused lighthouse), Southerness is basically dominated by the 2 massive family orientated caravan parks, although this property was far enough away not to get disturbed.

“Comfortable, well equipped cottage in convenient central locatio” Owner very helpful and friendly. She met us and made sure we knew where everything was. The cottage was clean and very well equipped. Gatehouse of Fleet has a lovely choice of eateries, and walks. The townsfolk are friendly and helpful. We had a thoroughly enjoyable break.
