“A very happy and enjoyable experience” Although we arrived in torrential rain and wind we soon were made very welcome. The cottage was very clean, well heated, and ideal for our stay. The owners could not have been more helpful and informative. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday. J & M Haimes

“Nice cottage” We had a lovely holiday staying at this cottage, spacious with private garden(despite the weather). The local pub served very nice food although probably more expensive than further afield. Good location for getting to most areas Just a couple of niggles...No towels are provided and there is only one tiny wardrobe in the master bedroom, no others at all!

“Beautiful cottage with excellent facilities” We stayed in February at Swallow's Nest and could not have been happier with the accommodation. Everything was very stylish, everything had been thought of and we were warm and cosy despite the February chill. The log fire is lovely to snuggle around. The situation is excellent for the northern Lakes with great access to the M6 and a66. Could not have been happier with things.

“Spacious, clean and well positioned holiday home” Hunter's Chase is a large, modern well equipped house, ideally positioned for visiting the Northern Lake District. We visited with a large, mixed age group of 9 from an 8 year old to Grandad in his 80s. All of the bedrooms were well appointed with plenty of storage space. A total of 4 bathrooms plus a downstairs cloakroom meant there were no arguments or queues for the toilet! The two main bedrooms were equipped with large flat screen tvs as well as the lounge. We also made good use of the wi-fi in the house. The kitchen was newly fitted and very well equipped with every type of crockery, cutlery and cooking implement you might require as well as a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer. It's located in a lovely village (although we never tried the pub) with the actual position being very quiet with views over fields and a large garden good for playing ball games. Pooley Bridge nearby has several pubs and a lovely beach by the river and Penrith, also not far away, is a traditional market town with facilities including a swimming pool, cinema and the normal array of supermarkets.

“Really lovely, clean and welcoming cottage” We stayed here with our three boys, and found the cottage excellent. There was a hiccup in the booking, but we were quickly contacted by the agent to explain things. A warm welcome from the owners on arrival and the boys were shown the field and barn where there was table tennis and footballs waiting... The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, well looked after and had everything we needed. Don't be put off by being near a main road - it is quiet at night and the view of fields and sheep is still there... The place was very cosy and welcoming - we would happily go back.

“Beautiful accomodation” Beautiful home set in a glorious garden. We even saw a Heron in the garden pond outside one of the bedrooms on two occasions. Ideal location to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The photographs do not do the home justice as it is much larger than expected. The only thing we least liked was having to carry our cases up the steps but its only on the first and last day so not a big problem.

PARKLANDS, log fire, stunning views, spacious, WiFi, in Pooley Bridge

Pooley Bridge house

5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Great Cottage, Plenty of Room and the facilities on site are fan” We stayed in Parklands with 4 young children, 2 grand Parents & 4 adults. Ther is plenty of room and we didn't once feel on top of each other. There was a secure gate at the top of the spiral stair case which could be locked, so we could allow the little ones to roam freely without fear of them falling down. The cottage was lovely and warm and the wood burner added to the comfort. The staff onsite are very welcoming and they have got two great childrens play area's. We would go there again in a flash.

RAINBOW COTTAGE, pet-friendly, character holiday cottage, with a garden in

Kirkby Stephen house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“A little piece of paradise!” Rainbow Cottage is in an idyllic spot away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The perfect place to rest. The games room was great for the family, and the layout of the bungalow was good. A welcome gift is always a nice touch and was much appreciated. The only thing it lacked was wi-fi, something that would have been considered a luxury just a few years ago but that is now considered a necessity, especially by the younger generation! All in all though, 5*, we loved it! Thank you.

“This holiday home was fantastic and the family really enjoyed be” The upstairs living area was very spacious and nicely decorated and the kitchen was equipped with all modern kitchen appliances. The balcony/upstairs patio had a good view of Ullswater Lake and was a great area to relax in. Bathroom areas and bedrooms were new looking and clean. The on-line photos do not quite give it full credit. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends and will return before long.

“Great holiday cottage in a lovely area.” The cottage was really lovely. The kitchen was wonderful with everything you would wish for. The roll top bath was wonderful. The barn is on a working farm but this didn't affect the holidayin any way. The owners were very nice and friendly. There was also a staic caravan site belonging to the farm, which was beautifully kept. Pooley Bridge was in walking distance as was the lake and the steamers. All in all a lovely place with plenty to do.

Waitby School
I found Waitby School to be a magical place.

We stayed at Waitby school in 2012 for a long weekend. I was delighted with the standard of whole setup. Extremelystylish, clean and self sufficient. The place boasted from a wonderfully sized apce both inside and out. Very relaing views of green fields and very conviently located for local amenities. My 2 year thoroughly enjoyed herself running around in the open space. I would recommend Waitby school to all those who are planning a trip to the Lake District.see more

Love it

I want to live here? But not for the feint hearted!. Comfy cottage, everything you need. It's old and comfy not new and squeaky clean! There are spiders inside and sheep outside but if it's a head clearing time you need this is for you? No TV, very intermittent Wyfi. You have to talk to the people with you are with rather than social media. Walks straight from the door. Outstanding beautiful country . Five stars from me and re booking.see more

High quality cottage

As soon as you enter the cottage the quality of material used is fantastic. Every room is finished to a high standard. The master bedroom and its en suite have heated floors, as does the other bedroom and the main bathroom. Upstairs in the kitchen and lounge which is spacious with comfy seats, the kitchen has everything you need. Upstairs has radiators, the water pressure is fantastic with hot water straight away. The wifi is a little slow to what I'm used to but nothing to get upset about. The owners are very nice, not in your face all the time but there if you need them. The cottage is in a quiet village but close enough to main roads. Overall a great place to go to for a week or a few days.see more
