“Paradise” We stayed in the 2 floor cabin with two bedrooms with our son's family and had a wonderful week! The hosts (Eladio and Vanessa)and staff make you feel like family! The gracias hostess brought out toys for the grandchildren and sent fruit from their trees for us to enjoy! We loved the pool which is very clean and does not have the bleach smell. As they talked with us by the pool we learned more of Guanacaste. The birds were absolutely beautiful. We saw: White-ringed Fly Catcher, humming birds, green parrots, Blue Crowned Motmot (which is usually only down in Cabo Blanco), Morning Doves, a Baltimore Orial, Blue Grey Tanger, and Bronze head Black Bird. We went to the Volcano (Vieja)one day but it was closed due to activity. So we walked down the the nearby falls. Absolutely gorgeous. Wear your bathing suit! Another day we went to a beach near Nicaragua but the water there was too cold due to the Humbult current - like the Gulf stream up North that warms the water, this stream cools the water. I recommend Colebra! It is only 30 minutes away and absolutely beautiful. Bring your bug spray though. Only the mattresses will make you want to go home. They were a little hard, but normal for the area.

Accommodations are absolutely clean, comfortable, incredibly safe and most of all you will feel at home! My husband and I travelled with our four children...our two older ones aged 18 and 19 each brought a friend along. Our younger ones are aged 10 and 11 and we took my mother as well. There was a total of 9 of us and each and every one of us has nothing but great things to say; Villas Casa Loma is perfect for any age! Whether you are vacationing at Villas Casa Loma as a young family, through to a senior such as my mother you will be able to experience life, fun, peace and tranquility at its fullest. We met other vacationers who continue to stay at Villas Casa Loma each time they go to Costa Rica, sometimes staying for six months at a time...we can understand why as we will definitely be returning! “A tropical getaway with all the comforts of home.” Property management staff was very helpful with all our arrangements, even arranging transportation from the airport. Felt very safe in the complex, very nice young lady came in twice in the 7 days we stayed and cleaned and straightened up. The home was beautiful with wonderful sunset view. We were 5 adults who were attending a wedding at Diria and we had plenty of space. The resort is beautiful, staff was very helpful and friendly. Just about all the restaurants we ate at were reasonably priced and the food was delicious. You could also walk to the little grocery stores. The pools were wonderful and the grounds were impeccably kept. The nightclubs close fairly early and the casino was small but all in all we loved walking around at night and felt safe. The roads and sidewalks in Tamarindo are undergoing improvements so driving is a little crazy. "Double yellow lines mean nothing in Costa Rica". Riding to and from the airport was an adventure in itself. I wish I could go back - 7 days was not enought to see this beautiful country.

“Piccollo Paradisso” Playa Conchal has everything I was looking for in a vaccassion:An amazing scenery, white sand beach, a calm blue ocean and a friendly staff eager to make the stay memorable. The condo is extremely well maintained with large bedrooms and showers and a large kitchen . It is very comfortable and easily accessible to the beach club with the shuttle service or by walking. The beach club has a great pool,spa and gym. There is plenty to do during the day, and at night there are shows and the casino. “Our trip was awesome” Our stay at Vista Hermosa was amazing. We had a fantastic time the weather was perfect the people were so friendly. The views were spectacular. There was tons of wildlife all around us, the sounds of the howler monkeys and the birds was so interesting. The house was beautiful everything one need was there. We felt like we were the only ones on the peninsula it was perfect not crowed loved being on the beach by ourselves with the iguanas, pelicans and the monkeys. The beach club was perfect and the food and service was great. We loved our stay and would definitely go back.

“What more could you want?” To add our thoughts about Las Palmas. We've stayed here 8 weeks over the last three years and we've already booked for next year! We feel this place is special for a couple reasons. It is unique in that it is all by itself, on the rugged edge of National Park property. It is not in a residential neighborhood, not in a commercial area but it's hardly secluded. We walk to both Santa Cruz (about 2 miles) & La Crucecita (about 2.5 miles). Also, an easy walk down to La Entrega for beach activities like snorkeling, lunch & tropical drinks. Violin beach is right below Las Palmas and usually very quiet and very beautiful. Our son proposed to his girlfriend while snorkeling on there! We love the fact there are only 5 casistas and 3 villas at Las Palmas. It is small enough to get to know other vacationers & share the amenities, but still plenty of privacy to do your own thing. Looking forward to Las Palmas every year makes the daily grind much easier to endure!

“Well deserved rave reviews !” Everything wonderful you read here is true ! We stayed at Villas Casa Loma for a month of warmth... away from the cold northeast. Our villa #301 was exactly as shown and more spacious than expected. The view of the harbor from our terrace was beautiful at morning coffee time and breath taking at sunset ! We are a couple in our late 60's and were very happy to have a rental car to get down the "mountain" for activities. There are many charming small towns nearby to explore,lots of nice restaurants and convenient shopping for groceries. We also spent many days just enjoying the beautiful pool and the company of the other guests. If we ever return to Costa Rica, I can't imagine staying any place but Villas Casa Loma with Igor and Tom !

“An Excellent Place To Stay” I don't normally give the houses I've rented the "highest" rating, nor do I normally write reviews in the first place, buy I feel compelled to do so for Arenal Springs Villas. For the simple reason that, in the past when I've rented houses on-line, pictures posted have usually overstated how nice the homes and surrounding area actually was. Not they were bad, just that the their pictures left me with high expectations. But Arenal Springs was/is different. In my opinion, the pictures just can't quite capture how nice the houses/villas, the grounds, and the surrounding area, actually are. And that's why we keep going back.

“Escape to Paradise” We have recently returned from a memorable 10 days and 9 nights at the Villas Casa Loma. We stayed in Villa 3 which is situated dramatically on the side of a mountain with spectacular views from every window. In the back there are mountains with tropical vegetation and through all the other windows you can see the ocean.. There is a veranda with breath taking views of the ocean, mountains and a picturesque bay with sailboats. Every night we could watch the sunset in a blaze of color. Igor and Tom built the villa using native materials with soaring wood ceilings and gorgeous stone and woodwork. Every villa is uniquely decorated. Our villa had a long counter with chairs all on one side, cleverly facing the ocean. It was the dry season so the flowering trees and bushes were in full bloom and it was very hot. Igor and Tom had thought of everything for our comfort. We had multiple ceiling fans in every room and even on the veranda. There was air conditioning which we did need during the afternoons. We are swimmers so really appreciated the large pools and found time everyday where the pool was completely empty! Tom and Igor were perfect hosts and offered assistance in so many ways. The sent us to great local restaurants: Angelina's, Marie's, Carlos y Carlos, and Mar y Sol to name a few. The seafood is some of the best we have ever had. Tom, Igor and some of their other friendly guests advised us about beaches and towns to visit nearby. We vacationed with our daughter and her husband who had their own private room and bathroom with it's own entrance down a few steps from our villa. This was the perfect arrangement so they could have privacy, yet share our kitchen and veranda and spend time with us. We would absolutely recommend the Villas Casa Loma. In fact we have told all our friends are are worried they will all go and there won't be room for us!

“Satisfying,safe and friendly.” My wife and I have stayed here several times. We usually stay for four to six weeks. Affordable, beautiful landscaping and within walking distance of the ocean. Lots of birds on and around the property. Great views of the ocean to the west and mountains to the east. Centrally located to several national parks. Makes a good home base for daily or two to three day trips exploring Costa Rica. The pool is large and well mantianed. The owners are great host and the help is top notch.

“Fantastic!!” Our trip to Villas Casa Loma and Flamingo Beach was wonderful. It was our first time to Costa Rica. We were hesitant to go in the "rainy" season, but after talking with our host Tom, we were optimistic about the weather. Tom was right that Costa Rica is very much like Florida in the summer, where we would have a rain shower in the afternoons, but the rest of the day would be sunny and beautiful. We were very glad that we picked July to come, the country is lush and beautiful, a very tropical setting. We were so glad that we picked Villas Casa Loma, Tom was available to us for everything from perfect driving directions, to excellent recommendations for dining, and activities, such as zip lining, beautiful beaches, etc. He even got us invited to an exclusive dinner at Mar y Sol where we sat with the owner and his wife celebrating the 4th of July!! Our villa was gorgeous, overlooking the Pacific ocean. Spotlessly clean, with every amenity. We really enjoyed our 7 days in Villas Casa Loma, and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended!!

“Wonderful Piece of Paradise” We stayed here from May 13-20 in villa 204. It was clean, well kept and extremely spacious! Wonderful views of the surrounding hills, Playa Flamingo, bay and ocean. Tom and Igor were very knowledgeable and gracious hosts. The grounds and pools were constantly being manicured and cleaned. We didn't use air conditioning during our stay as the villa had many ceiling fans to keep the air moving and was very comfortable, even with it being 40+C in the sunshine! The kitchen was well stocked with all the required items for cooking. We even used the BBQ which was just a quick walk down some stairs, which would make it very central for all guests to use not matter which villa you stayed in. Lots of thought has gone into the planning of their piece of paradise and would highly recommend staying here. There is a small grocery store on the main road to Playa Flamingo, just a 2 min drive, that had all the basics required for food and drink. Many great restaurants in the area and it was easy to navigate from LIR airport. The city of Liberia is about 1 - 1 hour 15 mins away. Tamarindo was about 20-30 mins away. You've inspired us to start thinking about our piece of paradise!

“Two Family Vacation” Our two families visited Casa Loma this last winter and had a blast!!! The accommodations are great with plenty of room, good supplies in kitchens, clean and wonderful. The view is just incredible as you are up on a hill and can sit in the ocean breeze and watch the boats bobbing in the blue ocean bay. The grounds are kept immaculate and you can enjoy the colorful plants and flowers while luxuriating in the cool, refreshing pool. As hosts Tom and Igor can not be beat. They are there to check you in and from tree on can help you as much or as little as you desire. They gave us great tips on tasty restaurants and fun things to do! They recommended a zip line place that had short runs and newly installed long ones almost a mile long!!! Fun! :) The fish tacos they recommended while drinking a cold Imperial right on the beach was memorable while we watched the sunset. There was also a new coffee shop at the bottom of the hill where we could get a latte and homemade pastry. When it was time to leave the nine of us were tearful as we had so much fun, made friends and really enjoyed the conversation and time spent with our hosts. Plans are already underway to go back later this year and experience Shangri La one more time!!!

“A True Vacation” You definitely know you are on vacation when you stay at Villas Casa Loma. The atmosphere is very relaxing, quiet, and has great views of the Pacific Ocean. The grounds are well maintained, actually manicured, and the large swimming pool is the cleanest I've ever seen. There is actually another pool that I never used. The architecture is impressive with a lot of attention to detail. The owners live on site and are available anytime and they are very helpful including suggestions and directions for local restaurants, banks, shops, etc. This just might be the best place to stay in Playa Flamingo.

“Our second visit, more to come.” This was our Second visit with Tom and Igor at Villas Casa Loma. Enjoyed breathtaking ocean views of Playa Flamingo from our lanai. Great accommodations with kitchen for making breakfast and coffee to watch the sun rise on the boats in the harbor. The sparkling pool was quiet and refreshing. We even watched the breathtaking sunsets while lazing in the pool. We so enjoyed the sounds of the jungle with numerous birds and a few howler monkeys. It is a short drive to several beaches and many excellent restaurants. Can't say enough of how helpful Tom and Igor were with tips of activities, restaurants and hidden beaches in the area. This year we had three in our group and last year we had eight. Great spaces for large and small groups. We just love our time there. You can be busy every day in town or in the jungle or just relax in this little piece of paradise. We will be back!

“Happy repeat visitor!” What a great place to visit in Guanacaste! This time we have stayed for 10 days in a Villa No 2 with breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding greenery. There are flowers everywhere and birds and butterflies.This was not our first visit. We loved it before and came back more than once.Photographs on the web site represent this property accurately. The rooms are large with complete kitchen facilities, and everything is well maintained and clean. Owners are very helpful and go beyond the call of duty. Pools are large and very well maintained. We have recommended this property to many friends and many have come for a visit here as well. There are great beaches nearby, great restaurants, nearby volcanos, incredible spas and sanctuaries,zip line attractions,horse back riding...just a perfect vacation...a place to get away from it all. We always enjoy our visit and will come back again.

“Unique and special!” Once againwe have had the pleasurable experience of spending 2 memorable month at Villas Casa Loma.The weather was absolutely perfect for the entire time that we were there.We loved watching the birds off of our private balcony,sunny morning spent on beaches of the area and afternoons around one of the tropical swimming pools,surrounded by gently waving palm trees.What a terrific way to relax! Evening were generally cool with light breezes.Great for sleeping! Our hosts Tom and Igor were generous with their time,taking us on shopping,various beaches when they could find the time.One of our favourites was Playa Danta and Lola's Restaurant.Pure magic! To visit Villas Casa Loma is to experience a whole new way of relaxing. Thanks to the delightful staff,we were spoiled without ever feeling over-pampered.
