“Great break after recent hospital treatment.” Good welcome pack in accommodation which was appreciated. The cottage was excellent for our requirements with a pet labrador. The location was well placed for touring Cumbria and the Lake District. Although we did not take advantage of the amenities they appeared well managed and very good. We liked the available walks through the valley especially with our dog. Although no doubt temporary ongoing contruction work made for very muddy conditions on the approach to the cottage. The settee was not the most comfortable for a weeks stay.

“Lovely fairly isolated spot and a comfortable cottage” We were welcomed to our cottage by the owner and a plate of freshly baked scones. One of the first things we saw was a woodpecker!!! We loved the location including the sculpture trail and the woodland and the fact that it felt to be miles from anywhere. Very comfortable bedrooms and well-appointed bathrooms. Living area very practical for dogs. Cooking and dining facilities good. Would have liked more mugs and glassware to be available. We will visit again and next time try out the lovely spa.

“Nice place; handy for Hadrian's Wall.” Nice loft flat that's very handy for Hadrian's Wall. Makes a good base for folks with 2 cars doing point-to-point walks. The flat is much better than the entrance way and hallways. Nicely furnished and the kitchen is well-equipped. My one complaint is that the taps in the kitchen and bathroom are very cheaply finished. The bathroom sink and shower both leaked from our arrival. Overall, very handy for the local grocery store and pubs. Haltwhistle itself is lacking in depth in restaurants and pubs, but there is a very handy chip shop just down the High Street. "The Milecastle Inn" is a very nice pub just 3 miles away, on the Military Road, that does good food.

“Beautifully decorated and furnished.” This is a lovely place for a couple to stay. It makes a great base for a touring holiday in Northumberland. In walking distant of Hadrian's Wall. The inside is done to a very high standard and is comfortable. There's plenty of shops, cafes and pubs in the village. The only downside is that it's on a main road but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of our holiday in any way.
