Charming & Private Stone Cottage W/ Saltwater Pool

“wish this was our house!” First of all, sorry Karen and Craig for not writing this review months ago! Even though our GPS tried to take us down roads that were not roads, we finally found our way to this simple, beautiful and wonderfully secluded cottage. Craig showed us to our very spacious room with a wonderful bathroom (big shower:)) and a fantastic seating area out back with our own grill. the room was stocked with great maps of the area and Craig and Karen were full of wonderful options of things to do and places to see in the surrounding towns. We bought all of our groceries in Montrichard and loved grilling in the back yard and cooking in the small kitchen in the cottage. Although we picked a rainy time to come (and couldn't really use the pool)everything was fantastic: from the bird watching, to local farmers markets, and to buying fresh eggs from the farmer across the street. We would gladly give up everything we have to spend our lives in such a beautiful place and it would be even better if we had such great neighboors as Karen and Craig. we had an absolutely fantastic time at the cottage and we can not wait to come back again

“Lorena's review of Chateau de Valerie with Coach House” We all had a wonderful time. It was our first time ever renting and it surpassed our expectations. The grounds and chateau were beautiful. The staff was so friendly and pleasant. It was truly a magical time! One of the reasons we rented this property was because it had a chapel on site, which was extremely convenient considering we were getting married. There wasn't one thing in particular that we loved...because we loved it all! Nothing. Everything surpassed our expectations! We loved the tiny villages and towns near by. It was nice an quiet. Chinon was beautiful.

“Les Mortiers is a superb home base for enjoying the Loire Valley” From the gite itself; the lovely "welcome" gifts of wine, fresh eggs, and homemade jam; the beautiful pool area; to the peaceful loveliness of the French countryside, the accommodations are incomparable. As well as seeing the sights of the Loire Valley, we loved shopping at the local markets, learning the protocol when shopping at the Super U, and just trying to do things the way the French do. It was a wonderful adventure for us made even more so by the gracious owners who were so helpful. This was our second visit, the first being in 2011. It was wonderful to be there again.

“a perfect home way from home for a family” Perfect home for family of 7. We were 3 generations, ages 6 to 72. La Boulangerie was warmly welcoming, quietly relaxing, clean and comfortable. There was something for everyone. Great pastry, friendly town, good public playground and pool for the kids. Good places to dine out; great kitchen for cooking and eating together at a long table. We all loved it--the children appreciated the history of the house and never felt deprived. The manager was kind and helpful. If you have children, the zoo will amaze them. Our 6 and 7 year-olds decided it was the best zoo on earth!

“It was an adorable experience.” It was an adorable experience. We stayed in "Le Clos" for a few days and nights and we enjoyed it entirely. The location is perfect, providing intimacy and silence, yet close to all sort of restaurants, bakery, grocery stores and of course castles and museums.

“Donald's review of Chateau de Vallery” We had a superb week with everyone mixing marvellously. The situation is magnificent. The opportunity to either do things cycling, tennis, table tennis, swim or just relax. The cook top was difficult. We ate in most of the time and did overcome it but the gas part of it is difficult. Also, it is sad that the 3 upper bedrooms have a shower room between 3 bedrooms. You need to watch the plumbing as taps can come off in your hand. The 2 rivers, the Loire and the Vienne are really nice. The towns of Chinon and Saumur are also lovely to walk around.
