“Idyllic” Beautiful and tranquil setting. Wonderful accommodation, we stayed in the Rouge gite. Attractive decor and excellent amenities to enable a carefree and relaxing holiday. Amazing countryside and the surrounding villages are interesting and picturesque.

“Lovely spot in a beautiful part of the world” We had a wonderful time here. The gite is well-appointed, charming and comfortable and the setting is beautiful. The location made a great spot for exploring the area (Pech Merle, Figeac and Rocomadour are all easy driving distance) and it was pleasure just to hang around Marcilhac and hike or canoe. The music and book selection was exceptional, with handy maps and guidebooks plus some classics about the area. Wifi has to be paid for at the Post Office (and cellphone service is best at the town square) but it's a very short walk there. Having Madame's "tasting menu" and watching village life at Café des Touristes is a must. It was a pleasure to stay here (thanks to Lillian for the arrangements).

Rural France at its best

Perfect location for a quiet family holiday for a large family or perhaps two families. The house is huge with 5 double bedrooms, a huge dining room/kitchen and various terraces. There is a pool table and dartboard as well as board games should you need them - great for teenagers along with the gorgeous pool area with a large pool and a children's pool with its own changing area. The holiday venue that you have been seeking for ages (and now,

On arrival we could not fail to be completely over-awed by the commanding and impressive situation that Domaine de Roubignol occupies at the head of the valley with stunning views that usually can only be dreamed about. We were delighted with the accommodation and it was a real experience to spend time in such an historic abode which, whilst retaining its historic appearance and elegance, nonetheless has all the modern facilities and comfort needed. Without doubt, whatever you expect to receive from a holiday, can all be found here - spacious and comfortable accommodation within the house as supplemented by the extra availability within the tower, scenic surroundings for walks or just admiring, peace and quiet inside or on the terraces (for those moments that every holiday needs)and perhaps a dip in the 'pool' to cool off. We found the location of this venue particularly attractive as it offers convenient access to explore that area of the country that is rich in history as witness the many castles that abound and to sample and enjoy the highly recommended local wine and food (The generally relaxed lifestyle of the inhabitants of the region is also to be admired and perhaps envied). If you are very lucky, you might be able to get a real bargain at one of the local markets! I feel that a holiday break at the Domaine de Roubignol would be both refreshing and rewarding for all ages as it allows access to a holiday as relaxing or activity related as needed by families or small or larger parties. The travel to reach any holiday destination can sometimes be an arduous matter. For anyone living in the South West of the UK, we found travel to Bergerac airport (from Bristol) followed by a rather leisurely and extremely pleasant drive through the French countryside to Domaine de Roubignol to be a particular advantage. This certainly helps to remove the stress that often accompanies the start of holidays!! … see more

A wonderful French country experience.

The rustic appearance of this home craftily hid the comfort of a very well appointed interior. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the bedrooms and spacious bathrooms, and many a happy evening was spent socialising in the living area. We were able to tour to so many historical places as the Moulin is in the perfect location. I highly recommend this accommodation in beautiful French countryside. … see more
