“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

“Well placed pretty and nicely finished cottage for a break in th” First time using Sykes and will certainloy be returning to them for another break. No problems and received regular email updates with driving directions and entrance instructions. The cottage was easily found with either some very simple directions supplied or by Sat Nav. We found this cottage nice and centrally located for our weeks holiday and proved to be a good base for us and what we chose to do. It's only a short drive to the Windermere and Kendal for example. Well worth the drive to Ulverstone via the Kirk Stone Pass to Ullswater Lake and a cruise on there. Even closer is Grange over Sands a nice quaint town, shame there was no beach there though. Cottage has a nice blend of old v new decoration with a very nicely finished kitchen and main bathroom whilst the rest of the cottage had more rustic feel to it. Only grumble about the cottage we had was the bed / matress in the main bedroom. I Personally feel that these could do with being replaced as both my wife and I found this very uncomfortable which stopped us from giving an excellant review for comfort. Worth noting for members of the National Trust that you will get free car parking in a number of car parks which could work out saving a small fortune over the time of a holiday in the Lake District

“A very peaceful location” The cottage was wonderfull, we had a warm reception when we arrived. A nice bottle of wine and some fresh free range eggs awaited us. The countryside and surrounding areas were very pleasant & peaceful. The town was only a matter of 10mins drive away & it was easy to explore the area and further afield. All in all a very good week.

“Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“Lovely cottage ideally placed for walking in the Dales.” Cottage well equipped,spotlessly clean and cosy. Home made marmalade and fresh eggs were a treat. Hawes only 10 minutes away. Lots of walks to suit everyone. Railway line opposite was a novelty. Owners very easy to get on with and friendly - the file in the cottage which tells you everything you need to know is worth its weight in gold! We will definately return.

“Great stay at ash Pot Barn” I stayed at ash Pot Barn with 6 other ladies. We had a great time. We couldnt fault our stay in anyway. We would definatley return, especially in Summer as it has a great BBQ area overlooking the Fells, But was cosy in the winter when we went. We walked to the Fat Lamb pub which took about 1 hour 10 mins. Secluded location but perfect for relaxing and staying in, great kitchen/living area. Bedrooms spacious and everywhere very clean.

“What a wonderful place to stay.” We had a wonderful week staying at Usherwoods barn. It was much larger than we had expected and had been finished and equipped to a high standard. The underfloor heating works very well and it was lovely to sit in front of the log burner in the evening. It isn't often that holiday accommodation exceeds your expectations but this certainly did. The owners were friendly and very helpful and it is in a great location. Pet friendly too. We hope to go back again.

“A superb location for country lovers” A spacious, well appointed and well located cottage set in the Lune valley. Walk just a few yards down the road and you can see the Howgill Fells and the river Lune. Although located with a few other cottages it feels private, and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We had a memorable holiday and would certainly consider staying again. Kirkby Lonsdale (a few miles away) has a good local supermarket and plenty of pubs/restaurants.

“Fabulous property in a great location” This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.
