“Dream Getaway” Our stay here was a magnificent treat. The house is stunningly beautiful and off the beaten path, the perfect combination of privacy with the best beaches on the island just a short drive or bike ride away. The quiet and calm of the house is beyond relaxing, if you are looking for a place to get away from the city or to find peace and calm, this is ideal, even the quality of the air is soothing. The house has a huge, beautiful outdoor deck, surrounded by a nature reserve, where we were able to spend afternoons reading and sunbathing, and the kitchen is very large and fully stocked and we had some wonderful, cozy evenings at home, cooking dinner and playing board games. It was terribly difficult to have to leave after only a few days, if we were able to we would spend a week here at least once every season! This is a truly unique and special place to spend a vacation.

“Relaxing vacation” We vacationed here for the first two weeks of July. Bill and Sandy were fabulous hosts. They were attentive to our needs and generous with their time taking us out in their boat to view the fireworks. The space is decorated tastefully and was clean and welcoming. We spent almost all of our time outdoors enjoying the sun and water. We ate most of our meals outside on the patio. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been to have a screened in area so that we could have stayed out later at night after the mosquitos' came out. We are planning on returning next year.

“More than a vacation destination!” I'm a nature lover so I was not upset that it was pouring rain when we arrived because the brief rain brought a beautiful gift---the loons drifting out of the mist on Walker Pond. You don't have to be a nature lover to enjoy your stay at Cathy and Dan's incredible house on the lake. My husband and I were guests of our daughter's mother-in-law, and we were prepared to be delighted because she had been coming up to Kill Kare Kamp for a few years and we had heard how much she loved it. The house is cozy, spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view of the "pond" from the wraparound veranda. You can also take a trip back in time when you peruse the family photos on the walls or by reading the story of the camp in a book lovingly kept up by Cathy and Dan. The kitchen is like home where you'll want for nothing, every kitchen tool is available in the fully equipped kitchen. We kayaked, we read, we hiked, we tooled around the town, and we did nothing! We loved it!!! I hope to go back.

“Fantastic House -- Lake, Poor” Yes, the house is wonderful. Beautiful views abound, it's well stocked with everything you'd want, and extremely clean. A five-star place. That said, the lake's dreadful, in our opinion. It's murky-black. We did go swimming in it, however, but it's so murky you can't see your thighs in the water, much less the bottom. Our twenty-something son wanted to swim across it, and I kept thinking, if he goes under you'd never see him. As it was, he did swim across and we followed in a row boat. We would definitely return were it not for the lake.

“A Fabulous Indulgence” I literally just wanted some time off to spend with my kids and husband and a few close relatives and friends but didn't want to go so far away. It must have been through the grace of God that I came across this ginormous house and for the price the owner was asking for...practically a steal! I'm so happy in the decision I made in renting this home as opposed to just practically handing away my money to a hotel/resort, everything was conveniently close by, beaches, shops, theaters...there was even a guide book at the house that came in really handy. My kids loved the pool so much that it was difficult keeping them out. My husband enjoyed the outdoor BBQ and looked cute working the grill as well. This house has everything anyone could ever ask for and I mean everything! It was completely furnished, kitchen was fully stocked with appliances, cookware and utensils. Everyone enjoyed spending time together but the best part is that everyone got to go their separate ways at night in their own bed rooms with their own TV (def a must if you're a soap opera fanatic as I am). The only thing that I wasn't too crazy about was the check in (3 pm) and check out (11 am) time, it was a little too late and definitely too early for my taste (mostly because I really didn't want to leave). I def recommend not only this house, but the owner as well...very pleasant woman, it was like dealing with a family member...she was very welcoming and will most definitely rent from her again, am already counting down the days to my next vacation.

“Another enjoyable stay” Another great stay at the cottage!!! Stayed in this beautiful cottage for a Thanksgiving long weekend and it was everything we were looking for and a bit more. The wood fire place is a big bonus and even though it wasn't that cold we lit it anyway; so cosy in the evenings. The forest walk is just on your doorstep; the lake is beautiful; the nature is colourful. It was nice to sit on the dock with a glass of wine and enjoy beauty of surrounding; so peaceful))) It was everything you could want for a relaxing break, and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you, Stephen for accommodating us again!!!

“Perfect Wedding Venue” My wife and I decided this would be the perfect place for our wedding and reception. We were right! We were specifically looking to have an "intimate" occasion, with about 70 guests. The owners went way out of their way to help us by recommending caterers, rehearsal dinner and brunch venues, and even suggesting setups for the ceremony and the best way to use the in-house entertainment features! When we first arrived at the house, it was very late at night. We had seen all the pictures and had even visited before, but it still an amazing sight to see. Both of our immediate families stayed in the house for the week from infant nieces and nephews to grandparents. The guys spent the morning of the wedding on the golf course (which has some of the most amazing views of the mountains) while the girls were pampered at the house by a local spa staff (also recommended!). The wedding went just as we had dreamed, some people played pool and foosball, watched movies, went swimming and hot tubbing, used the bars, danced upstairs and downstairs, played football on the lawn, sat by the fire, and ate terrific food. The wedding went for 9 hours, which people told us was crazy, but in that house the time flew by and we had to "make" people leave on the last shuttle back to the Jordan Grand hotel. I asked one guest if she was having fun and she said "It wouldn't be possible to even hide from fun in this house". All our family and friends who had questioned "WHY MAINE?" understood the minute they arrived. And they can't stop talking about it since. We arrived on a Thursday night and had the wedding on Saturday. We spent the rest of the week at the house relaxing. Sunday football in the movie theater was better than being at a stadium! We went sightseeing at the state parks and enjoyed the town of Bethel, but we couldn't wait to get back the house to enjoy the heated pool, hot tub and fire pit. Thank you Glen House for an unforgettable experience! We are looking for a reason to go back!
