“The sound of the waves, right outside your door, are like a lull” We had a "rough time" getting here (mechanical problems with the plane, canceled flight, etc.) but the cottage soothed our tired souls! We found the drum of the waves to be the best lullaby and the fresh air and abundant sunshine to renew our spirits. We appreciated the personal art on the walls and the large open space. For folks who enjoy cooking with local produce, the well stocked kitchen, the large number of pots/pans/utensils, and the full sized refrigerator are perfect. There was plenty of hot water in the shower (and good water pressure!), the furniture was comfortable (brought back memories of beach houses from our childhood), and the large counter surface in the "dressing room" was perfect for all of our "stuff". We used the outdoor patio table for several breakfasts and dinners, watched a neighbor vacationer fish from the sea wall, and took daily walks on the nearly deserted beach. There were many informative books in the cottage along with maps, Dvds, etc. We used the guide books but were too busy enjoying Oahu to need any other form of entertainment! Although we have traveled extensively in the past few years, this was our first trip to Hawaii. We have already recommended the cottage to family and friends - thank you, Peter, for sharing your wonderful home.

“Perfect location, great view” Unit was clean and comfortable for four adults and a baby. Steps from a fabulous beach. Short walk to shops and restaurants. All the amenities of home. Loved our stay. Can't wait to go back.

“Fabulous location and accommodation” Our family of four - two adults, one 13y/o and one 17y/o - stayed here for 9 nights. We thought the location was perfect, it was a little quieter down that end of the beach, but still only a 10 minute walk to main restaurants and shopping. The apartment was immaculately clean and modern with plenty of space for us all - 17 y/o slept on the sofa bed and was more than happy. The kitchen is spacious with great facilities, it was also stocked with all the basic cooking supplies which was a nice touch! I miss waking up to the fabulous views... we will definitely be back!

“Our First Maui Vacation” My girlfriend and I have used Vrbo before, for properties in Europe and have never had an issue. Jill and Terry did not disappoint! The Honua Kai property and more specifically the unit we stayed in owned by Jill and Terry was absolutely incredible! I think it's rated as 4 stars, but clearly it was closer to 5 stars in our opinion. The description and photos on the unit were quite accurate. Jill was amazing with customer service and always helped us when needed. The amount of local information made available to us in the form of a very big binder or two in their condo was awesome. The condo unit was very clean and tidy when we arrived. We highly recommend a visit to Honolua Bay to go snorkling. It's only about a 15 minutes drive from the property, and worth the visit! It's a rocky beach, so leave the beach chairs at home and just take towels and snorkel equipment with you. Also, if you're a foodie, check out Roy's, about 5 miles south of Honua Kai. As well, Duke's is on the Honua Kai resort property and it's an awesome restaurant for drinks, lunch and dinner-highly recommend both Dukes and Roy's. We also went to the Old Lahaina Luau one night, and boy it was just amazing! Great entertainment and food. We would recommend this property to anyone, and have already done so with our friends.

“A wonderful, relaxing place to stay in Maui” Just what we wanted! The place is very convenient, and has the amenities needed for a relaxing beach vacation, including beach chairs & mats, towels, boogie boards etc. Parking is a breeze, and it's close to the bus line as well. The well equipped kitchen inspired us to eat in most evenings. I would recommend to my friends as family.

“Great condo, Great Location!” Great condo, great location! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently returned home from a 10 day stay at Papakea G-407! I wish I could have stayed forever! The condo is in a great location convenient to several gorgeous beaches and a short drive to Lahaina town. We had all the conveniences needed to prepare meals in and enjoyed dinner on the lanai several evenings with a beautiful sunset! Anne provided a great deal of information on the area as well as helpful hints for shopping, sightseeing, etc. The grounds at Papakea are absolutely beautiful! There are two great pools as well as two large jacuzzis. We will definitely return to this condo on our next visit to beautiful Maui! Thank you, Anne and Wes for sharing your home with us! “Great place, great golf view!!” Loved the location of this condo looking over the golf course and towards the mountains. Everything is so close, shopping, the beach, etc. It is beautifully decorated to feel so Hawaiian, and it is very comfortable.

“Wonderful accommodations” We stayed at Jean's condo for 2 weeks in Feb/March 2014. The condo was outstanding on the quiet end of Kihei Rd. This is a very nice condo with an island color scheme. The furnishings were comfortable both inside and on the lanai. There is air conditioning but you can get a nice breeze moving if you use the ceiling fans and keep the windows open. Everything was there for our use. The only thing you need to bring is a change of clothes, perishable groceries and a toothbrush. The cupboards were well stocked with almost everything imaginable including aloe vera for my husbands nasty sunburn. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is a great advantage. The laundry detergent & fabric softener were provided. The kitchen has all kinds of stuff you might need including a mix master, food processor etc. We have made several trips to Maui and have never stayed somewhere that was so well stocked. The condo was very well cleaned without a speck of dust anywhere. The floors shined. The gardeners are meticulous. Not a single blade of grass was out of place. The area around the pool has several bbq's and an outdoor kitchen. The pool and hot tub were nice and didn't have excessive chemicals used. Jean was very attentive to our needs. She answered phone calls and replied to all emails within minutes. She provided a lovely gift basket for us filled with coffee, potato chips, chocolates plus other goodies. She has a book of information in the condo with recommendations for restaurants, activities, etc. I would highly recommend this condo for anybody that needs a two bedroom. I wish there was a way to leave more than 5 stars because this place is a 10. Thank you again Jean for sharing your lovely condo with us. I cannot wait to go back. We will most certainly rent from you again on our next trip.

“Whales and turtles from the lanai” Had a fantastic relaxing time at sunset shores. An older condo, but kept up very nicely. Well appointed kitchen, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas. Easy parking. And a nice West Maui location. Helpful owner. But the real star is the view. Easy to while away hours on the lanai sipping cocktails and watching the whales go by. Truly spectacular. I almost hesitate giving this review for fear that it will be harder to book in future years. Really nice place.

“Amazingly Remarkable Vacation Spot” We found our paradise !! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach Resort in Maui. The view is amazing! How wonderful to hear the waves crashing just below. Soothing and so romantic! So nice to be able to cook meals in and also use the Bbq's at the pool. My husband enjoyed meeting other guy's cooking at the Bbq's. It was quite the social atmosphere. We have been to Maui several times and really liked the location of your condo. So much better than staying in a motel with all the amenities you provided. Thank you so much for the wonderfully decorated tropical atmosphere we had an amazing vacation and will be booking again real soon.
