“Spacious with breathtaking views, an incredible experience” I stayed here while travelling Europe with my wife on our honeymoon. We wanted a true Tuscany experience and finding La Balconata was an absolute gem!! Pictures simply can't do this location justice, it is everything we could have hoped for and more. Reading a book overlooking the mountains is a unique, peaceful experience. The perfect getaway location if you want to avoid staying near tourists and children(!) The house is huge with tall ceilings, very clean and comfortable. It feels like Tuscany inside and out where i think the hosts have taken good care in keeping with a rustic, homely feel. I can imagine it's very cosy during winter. You need a car here. It's a convenient location for visiting nearby towns and villages to really soak in the spirit of Tuscany. Lucca is a fantastic city well worth visiting and if you fancy sunbathing on the beach, i recommend Viareggio. There was simply too much to take in during our short stay but we'd certainly come back. “Superb family house and superb location- thanks for a fabulous h” In spite of a late arrival with small very tired kids and a small miscommunication on key location to gain access to the property (promptly sorted by local rep 'Jess'), we were all thrilled when we saw inside Maison Cruzy. It is an extremely spacious and light property very tastefully decked out to a high standard. There were 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which had adjoining rooms with daybed - ideal for families and 3 bathrooms all kitted out with power showers. There are 2 sitting rooms with an expansive selection of Dvd's for both kids & adults which was a godsend on the bad weather days. The property has a fantastic layout with a small walled courtyard attached to kitchen - ideal for al fresco dining, leading on to a massive barn which was a haven for the kids (and adults too!) during our stay. Filled with badminton court, table tennis, pool table, darts, boxing bag... We had lots of fun playing in here and even did a 'mini Olympics' for the kids. There are many bikes and helmets available to use and although not ideal for small children, the adults had a wonderful time doing some road biking in the beautiful surrounding villages and vineyards. The pool is set within a high walled garden, gets the sun all day and yet is well protected from any wind. It was unseasonably cool during our stay and the pool is not heated but this didn't seem to prevent the kids from enjoying a splash. Cruzy is a small town but had a local boulangerie for fresh croissants/bread each morning as well as a small grocery store. There are a couple of lovely restaurants within the locality 10 drive away, Terminus highly recommended. The surrounding areas are fantastic - there really is something for everyone... 1/2 hr drive from beaches, 45 mins from Carcassonne, vineyards everywhere, roquebrun for mountains, walking & kayaking and some of the best road biking we've ever done! Paddy, Emer, Jess & Miles were very accessible and helpful with lots of a advice/recommendations. A superb holiday!

“Wonderful wintertime treat” Arrived with my family just after Christmas as, we were interested to see the festival or fiesta for The Three Kings. What a treat - we saw the arrival of the 3 Kings into arriondas on horseback on the night of the 5th January and that after we enjoyed the fireworks. This was a great family occasion, as old and young were both made welcome in the local bars. There was a real buzz and anticipation as the next day people woke to find presents left in empty shoes on the doorstep! Even in winter, we still managed to enjoy walking in the mountains around the house and surrounding areas, which have crystal clear views of the snowy Picos de Europa in the distance. We loved staying here so much that this was our second visit to the house and our first was in early autumn a couple of years back. We had sunny beaches to ourselves and enjoyed walking along the Jurassic coastline where you can see dinosaur footprints and caves. We also hiked around the lakes at Covadonga - breath-taking! We ate out a fair bit at local restaurants which generally offer good hearty food at very reasonable prices, but shopping at the local supermarkets is marvellous too. We found excellent regional produce - ham, cheese, wine and delicious olive oil - makes picnicking a doodle. Get the friendly and informative owners to tell you about the best local restaurant about 30 mins walk away, and bring your appetite! House is lovely and comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing self catering holiday - can't wait go back again.

“A summer to remember” My "wow" test for a holiday is how long after I have returned home do the memories last. When doing the math, 4 years have past - I can't believe it. I can still recall times playing in the pool, trips to the bakery for fresh bread in the morning, great meals both at home and in the countryside and ending the day by the pool at night with a glass of wine or two or... We still talk about our summer in France and can't wait to get back again.

“A most enjoyable, relaxing holiday” Following a really warm welcome from Isabelle and Thiery we enjoyed our holiday in their accommodation. The house was very welcoming with everything we needed to relax. There was plenty of space both inside and outside to loose yourself in the peace and tranquility of the house. The farm animals were great neighbours and frequently shared our conversations! The farmhouse was in an excellent position, close enough to the nearest town, Eymet, to get provisions, eat out and generally watch life go by, but also far enough away to realise that we were holidaying in the countryside. Everything was in easy reach, including the airport at Bergerac for flights to the UK. The part of the holiday we remember most of all was the great feeling of relaxation we found staying with Isabelle and Thiery. They are very warm people and we look forward to visiting them again very soon.

“Real French accomodation in a lovely French village” Me, my husband and two kids with the age of fifteen and twelve years old spent a splendid holiday in this lovely house. Really nice decorated and all comfort things are present (beds, sofas, fridge, stove, large dining table, washingmachine, bbq etc,). We found the silence really remarkable (and pleasant). We loved the location of the house and the nearest bigger village St. Chinian.

“Fantastic apartment- convenient location” When traveling to Venice, this is the place to stay! Not only is the apartment perfectly located, it is absolutely beautiful, upgraded in every way possible. We were completely delighted with the property, Stefano was so communicative and kind, easy to deal with and I would honestly never stay anywhere else on return visits to that city. The apartment itself is perfect in every way and within very close walking distance of water taxi stop, Ca Da Oro, close to the beautiful Rialto bridge, and just around the corner from many restaurants, shops, drugstore, gelato shops and groceries. Very convenient. We loved the area and the neighborhood- we felt very safe and at home there. Stefano's apartment is absolutely stunning, with all new kitchen, upgraded new bathrooms, with terrific showers, beautiful light fixtures in all rooms, exposed beam ceilings in the living room area and bedrooms, nice comfortable furniture, beautiful flooring throughout, etc. Bonus: washer and dryer! I cannot say enough complimentary things about this property. It is definitely worth every penny you will spend and I would recommend it to anyone I know traveling to Venice. I am going back in September 2014 and plan to rent from Stefano again! Thank you to a wonderful host for his kindness and hospitality!!!

“Extraordinary value for a truly memorable experience.” Casa Alla Piana was outstanding. It is on the eastern edge of the small medieval village of Suria above Bellagio. It is on the middle and upper floor in the eastern end of a three story old stone building with high ceilings and vaulted bedrooms. Stained wood and centuries old natural stone abound. The donkey trails leading down from the village were a highlight for me. Window surrounds and the entrance balcony are single large solid slabs of crystalline stone - amazing. Inside is a surprise - the fit out is very modern with natural wood window frames and stairs - stained not painted. Coupled with the fabulous views, high ceilings and space this all adds up to a very ethereal experience. Best views are from the bedrooms (upstairs) which face north. The upstairs bathroom has a view to the east. Southerly views are from the upstairs landing and entrance door. The kitchen living room, the only room downstairs, has a door sized window looking across the neighbors garden to the north. Casa Alla Piana is well set up - everything worked well and we found all we needed in the apartment. There is no on-site WiFi at Casa Alla Piana but we were able to use a phone as a mobile WiFi hotspot. Across the lane way to the south is a private garden for exclusive use of guests at Casa Alla Piana. We stayed at the start of autumn. In the garden there were still sufficient vegetables (beans, zucchini, aubergine, tomato, broccoli) and herbs (parsley, sage, fennel) to go with our salmon, mussels, gorgonzola (one Euro per 100gm) or other treats. We shopped at the supermarket at the bottom of the nearest donkey trail. Note the opening hours on your first visit - we had 8:30am to 7:30pm, with afternoon siesta (12:30 to 15:30), Sunday afternoon and Monday closed. We did not meet Antonella or Pino but sister Lory and parents helped us settle in and showed us the start of the two main donkey trails leading down from hilltop Suria. The hidden garage is in a very modern, scrupulously clean complex, of ten or more garages ingeniously totally concealed under this ancient stone village. Once parked we didn’t use the car and walked or used the ferries. It is worth paying for a multi-day pass through the Metzi gardens as coupled with the middle donkey trail, it is not only a pleasant walk but probably the easiest way to get to and from central Bellagio. If you stay at Casa Alla Piana and plan to walk down the donkey trails you need a minimum level of fitness and map use. Casa Alla Piana was very quiet. There is a bit of an influx over the weekend period to gardens surrounding Casa Alla Piana (just like the garden attached to Casa Alla Piana) as they are used for large family meal gatherings – I guess by Milano apartment dwellers who seem to revel getting outdoors among the verdant greenery, clear blue sky and stone wall and lake backdrops. As best views are from the bedrooms upstairs (waist height windows), and not from the kitchen-dining-sitting room downstairs, you may want to construe a possie upstairs from what is available, for your reading, computing or idle hours whilst gazing at the view. Also upstairs gave a far superior phone reception for internet use. The best possible internet reception was to Blu-tak the phone (would not want it to slide off) onto the upstairs outside solid stone north facing window ledge which is slightly sloping. At the price paid, 250 Euro for four nights, including garage, Casa Alla Piana clearly deserves its five out of five rating. I am comfortable in going further to say that Casa Alla Piana ranks as luxury accommodation for the fit and map savvy guest who can connect their own internet. It is easy to write a lot about Casa Alla Piana – it was a wonderful experience.

“A House with a view.” Spent a week together with 8 friends in both houses. Plenty of space, clean and wonderful views from the house. Only problem were occasionally difficulties to have varm water in the showers. The bar and restaurant Vente Emilia in Confrides is recommended. Good food at low price and a warm friendly and familylike athmosphere. The area have a huge potential for outdoor-activities like cycling, rambling and climbing
