“Relaxing vacation” We vacationed here for the first two weeks of July. Bill and Sandy were fabulous hosts. They were attentive to our needs and generous with their time taking us out in their boat to view the fireworks. The space is decorated tastefully and was clean and welcoming. We spent almost all of our time outdoors enjoying the sun and water. We ate most of our meals outside on the patio. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been to have a screened in area so that we could have stayed out later at night after the mosquitos' came out. We are planning on returning next year.

“Highly recommend for great food, lodging, live music,and best of” There is a small group of ladies, three of us, who like to travel for wine tastings. We found a hotel in Richfeild Springs on a lake from trip advisor reviews, close to Cooperstown where our wine tasting was going on. When we returned to the Lake House that evening we sat by a fireplace in the living room and the door was open to the second floor and could hear clearly three men talking about a battle of the Potomac. Then they talked about Pickett's charge and on the 4th of July of '63 a train 14 miles long with Lee's wounded. We did notice an accent when they spoke but could not place it. The interesting part of this review came after our return home. It appears the Hotel is haunted (I am not one to believe in ghosts) but when we told our husbands about these three men talking about General Meade and Pickett's charge etc. and how many of their friends were lost ,They Looked at Bruce who teaches history and in disbelieve, informed us this was later known as the Battle of Gettysburg and ended on July 4th of 1863. This was 146 years ago to the day we were sitting there listening to these civil war veterans and 20 years to the day that the Lake House opened in 1843. Now all six of us will defintely be returning next july 4th to the Lake House for the Ghosts and great conversation.

“This is a gorgeous and spacious lake home with plenty of amentities for adults and child. 5 Stars!!!!” This property is on a gorgeous location on top of a small hill. The view of the lake from the house is breathtaking. Our group enjoyed our stay thoroughly and we took full advantage of the amenities in the property like out door fire pit, hammock, boats/kayak allowed by the home-owner to be used by us. The house has enough space--we were a group of 9 people and the space was ample however there is only one shower so that might be a limitation. the kitchen was very spacious and had all the stuff needed for cooking. It would have been nice if there was a functional grill for using outdoors--the one that was there was kind of old and did not work very well. There was some strange odor in the dishwasher but that might be because of its limited usage. Overall, this place is highly recommended for vacation stay. The owners were really nice and friendly and the view and location is absolutely spectacular! My Response Thank you for your kind words. I do want to say that we have replaced the outdoor grill. I'm sorry you had trouble with it. I checked the dishwater also but could not smell or see anything in the trap. We disconnected the plumbing to examine and clean. Whatever the odor was, it's gone. “Beautiful and highly recommended” The townhouse was clean and well maitained. There was plenty of room for four or more people. The upstairs balcony over looking the living rooom and the slider to the deck was great. There were views from just about every window. The fireplace made for a great way to relax and enjoy the townhouse. I would highly recommend this property to a friend and I plan to go back. It is close by to many attractions and restaurants. There a is a shuttle bus to Loon Mountain for skiing. I am looking forward to staying agisn next year.

“One of the most beautiful places to visit” I found this gem of a getaway for a personal retreat and had an amazing stay. My first impression of the suite was how immaculately clean it was. The décor was modern and comfortable. The suite had all the amenities for cooking my own food, and even had laundry facilities in the suite, which came in quite handy when I spilled coffee all over myself! I stayed in the upper suite, and the view of the St Lawrence River, especially in the morning and early evening, on the deck was gorgeous. The owner lives next door and he is very friendly. When I first arrived he gave me a tour of my suite and offered suggestions for activities in the area. He was also very respectful of my privacy. A family of 4 occupied the lower suite during my stay and we took a short trip together to Gananoque, the nearest town, to visit the small shops and enjoy an exquisite dinner overlooking the water. The Thousand Island boat cruise was a highlight of my stay and I recommend it as a great way to take in the natural beauty of the area. I wanted a low key kind of holiday away from the stress of the big city and that is exactly what I got and more! July 2012
