“Sandos Playacar is Amazing!” My family - me, my husband and two kids - just returned from an amazing week at the Sandos Playacar in Playa Del Carmen. We had such a fantastic time and LOVED Sandos. Everything was great - the food, the staff, the facilities, the entertainment and more! Sandos is a truly beautiful resort - the hacienda was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. The food at the al a carte restaurants was especially good, although we enjoyed the buffet breakfasts very much. The staff bent over backwards to help us with everything. The beach section was beautiful with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs, beds and hammocks to relax in. A short walk down the beach-2 minutes- brought us to a snorkeling area that was filled with tropical fish. The evening entertainment was top notch! All of our plans were booked through Georgette Flamm who provided detailed information and assistance every step of the way. She provided tons of info about the rooms and the resort, reserved transportation from the airport and gave us other valuable tips about our visit to Sandos. She responded to all of my questions immediately - I really was impressed how easy she made it! I would absolutely recommend Georgette Flamm and Sandos to anyone!!

“You don't have to die to get to heaven” Before my stay at Casa del Perro Feliz, I had never been to the Yucatan peninsula and I found the listing for the house on the internet. As you know, there can be a big difference between the experience promised in the listing and your actual stay. Everything about my 10 days at this fabulous house far exceeded my expectations. The house is spacious and sweet. Maria and Ulises, the caretakers, are dedicated and gracious. The bay is a Caribbean dream. We were there for the Christmas and new year holidays and we almost never even saw our neighbors--which meant we had the whole bay to ourselves. The nearby town of Tulum was exciting and the food was great. There are many things to see in the peninsula but, for us, the most magnificent were the cenotes. Swim in as many of them as you can. There is one 5 minutes walk from the house, but our favorite was the Grand Cenote, a few minutes drive. This was a memorable and rewarding trip for me, my wife and our 3 children. I'm saving up so we can go back.

“Beautiful vacation at Casa de Colores” First off, the home is superb and wonderfully situated at the north end of Half Moon Bay with sweeping views of the water from nearly every room in the house. Great staff and amenities, this home has everything to make your vacation in akumal special and enjoyable. There are a few dining options are within walking distance and everything the town has to offer is only a short bike ride away, however we also loved staying at home to cook on occasion as you can't beat the view! While you can snorkel outside your door in Half Moon Bay, walk to Yal-Ku lagoon, hang out at the main beach in town or take day trips, I think the beauty of Casa De Colores is that you don't feel like you have to leave. Relaxing on the deck or by the pool with a good book is a great way to spend a day. This home would be good for families.

“Beautiful House” With a perfect view of the blue ocean and a really nice service we fully enjoyed our stay in akumal, the Hause is clean, comfortable, with a nice view and a pool. “Loved every second of our vacation!!” The condo was great, lots of room for the four of us. The kids had their own bedroom, with their own beds, and their own bathroom. Bonus. The wrap around balcony was very pretty, loved the view. The beach and ocean out front of the hotel are lovely, although it is the usual hassle trying to get a lounger. Between the people who put their towels down at early hours, and are not even sitting in the chair, and the Mexicans hussling to make a buck off the loungers right in front of the hotel, It was most aggravating! Isla was fun to explore, the people are kind, the island is very safe, and the food was excellent.

“Great stay but some repairs needed” My husband and I plus a friend stayed at Casa Cavu and very much enjoyed it. The bay is so close that you have wonderful views from every room, and the pool is great and sparkling clean. Isidro and Rosio could not be better caretakers. I have never seen a more thorough housekeeper and Isidro cooked a fabulous dinner for us one evening - the tortilla soup is unreal! My criticisms have to do with the upkeep of the house itself. The owners really need to have some maintenance done on the outside. On our first night a light in our ceiling went out because water seeped into the recessed fixture. A bit of water was also coming down along the wall. Grant it, the rain was really pounding, but from the outside you can easily see cracks and areas of repair that are needed. A paint job is in order too. Really the outside looks kinda shabby and does not match the inside. Isidro and Rosio do such a nice job of making the place pretty and welcoming that it's a shame the exterior is not matching. Some attention to the upstairs outside deck would also go a long way. This did not stop us from enjoying the house, and we did a lot of cooking ourselves in the spacious kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are cute too, though they are showing some real wear also. We routinely sat out on the patio and enjoyed cocktails as the sun went down. The kayaks are great. Akumal Direct was very easy to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to book through them again. Management was very responsive and did their best to accommodate our request for a coffee grinder (which is impossible to find) as well as bringing us a couple of much-needed small, plastic tables to have by the lounge chairs. All in all, a wonderful stay. I just hope the owners keep the place up!

“Perfect” This lovely home, location and the staff met and exceeded our expectations. Everything every one has said in prior reviews hold true. All the recommendations at the home in the binder were great, the food prepared by the care staff was better than anything out there. The location and beach is spectacular for people of all ages. “Two weeks of fabulous accommodations...” Fantastic home that is ideal for a family, or several couples sharing (3 bed / 3 bath). “akumal rocks!” The house was awesome. A little kooky and a lot of stairs , but other than that it was perfect. Rent a golf cart. It is worth it. The house is huge with plenty of room for our 8 guests. Very peaceful and quiet. When we were there they were doing measurements for a new pool. So it looks like it will be even better. Akumal direct gave us a great off season rate and everything went perfectly. We just drove up when it was almost dark and walked right in to the house and started our vacation. The staff showed up to make sure we were alright and then left us alone. They were a great staff and were always around , but made sure to stay out of our way unless we needed them. And the on site security guard at night was a great touch. A little spooky when you walk around a corner at night and bump into security , but they always tried to stay on the other side of the property when we were awake. This place is great and we would return again for sure

“Akumal Gem!” I can't say enough about my stay at Casa Del Mar...from the booking process with the owner, Marcia Kirby to everything from start to finish. A wonderful welcoming, attentive staff to take care of everything you would possibly need is such a refreshing difference! The convenience and proximity to the town of akumal is ideal! This lovely home has ample parking that is safe and secured and is monitored by regular security staff, not the norm for many properties here in the area. The house has a great kitchen, dining and living space for one who likes to cook or just relax with friends. Plenty of Dvds available and a modest selection of tv channels although I really did not utilize as much as I expected anyway! A comfortable walk out back area overlooking the ocean where you can enjoy the evening breezes is a delight! The pool in the front of the house is always clean and well maintained, so refreshing! Also a nice table and chairs and chaise loungers out there as well. One bedroom down and two up, I so enjoyed the master bedroom on the ocean side of the house with its double sliding door balcony with hammock and chairs, etc. Very private out back and no fear of getting caught with your curtains open! Even as there is no beach access as it is a rocky fronted property, I did not miss that personally as it is so close to town and I prefer the akumal Bay entry anyway for the beach. The house manager, Angel addressed some minor requests immediately and stopped by here and there during my 3 week stay. Very professional and not intrusive at all! I would highly recommend this beautiful property for the peace and quiet, cleanliness and ample amenities for guests and certainly for the comfort and efficiency provided by the wonderful staff!
