La Valiana is centrally located for explorations to nearby villages and wineries, Cortona, lovely Pienza (a favorite), Montepulciano or easy day trips to Montalcino, Orvieto, Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Chianti and beyond. If you opt to have a meal prepared and waiting for your arrival after a long day of travel or touring, it will not disappoint and, quite possibly, could be one of the best meals in all of Tuscany, especially when enjoyed under the stars. “Charming house with a beautiful garden” Le Celle lies on the hillside, secluded and peaceful. The house is of high standard and keeps cool during the hot season. The garden is amazing, full of so many different flowers, plants and trees. The Tarquini family are friendly and helpful, and we did not miss anything during our stay!

“A week just wasn't long enough....” It was a super hot day when we arrived on top of being awake since 3am but what a brilliant sight it was when we arrived at Casa San Gabriel! Beautiful location set up in the hills with gorgeous views. Chrissie and David were really welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed to get settled in. Plus all the extra toys and books much to the delight of our daughter! We were out pretty much everyday to so many amazing hilltop towns all within an hour of Casa San Gabriel. (Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Montone and more). Returning back to the house was great knowing we could splash around in the pool and our daughter could play in the children's playground. Meantime we could enjoy good food, wine and beautiful views. Thank you to Chrissie and David for their hospitality we are definitely thinking of returning next year.

“Wondrous place and time” Maridiana is wondrous, with a forested backdrop overlooking Umbria's pastures and fields. Four Californians soaked up culture, especially food and wine, for an autumn week. Uncongested and slow-paced, outside of assisi and Perugia, we effortlessly explored the villages and hill-towns with our host's good advise. Casale is spacious and comfortable, although the beds are a bit firm. The stairway demands focus, and head-dipping; the upper road is best avoided without a high clearance vehicle. But the house reflects its history, and I would return unreservedly -- especially to sit on the lawn at sunset with a glass of sangiovese while wandering alpacas nibble the grass.

“Great holiday for everyone” We were a combination of three families, including grandparent, cousins, friends, including children from 9 - 23 and there was something for everyone. Lots of room for kids to run around in grounds, big pool with lots of chairs/lounges, great outdoor eating morning, noon and night, good kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms in abundance. Ipod dock and books for everyone. We travelled as far as Rome, Perugia, Todi, Spoleto, etc. Highly recommended.

“Fabulous Time” My husband and 23 year old son stayed in one of the upstairs apartments for about one week October 2012. Franco and Bozena were wonderful host and hostess. The farm and apartment are exactly as presented. Simple but clean, great views from each terrace, and kitchen well supplied. The pool was beautiful but a little too chilly to swim in October. Franco cooked a wonderful 'saffron' meal for us and a German couple who were also staying at the farm. Lots of wonderful day trips from the farm. We hope to return very soon!!
