“Life changing experience!” Please convey my heartfelt thoughts to Wayan and Putri for their exceptional care and love that they showed my Daughter and myself during our stay. I didn't give enough credit when Wayan asked me about my preferences when we switched to staying at the home closer into Ubud. We honestly preferred the Swallowhouse after experiencing the second location because of the comfort of the beds, the fantastic night air, and the incredible culinary delights that Putri graced us with! Being a Master Chef, I have great appreciation for the meals that she provided. Also, being a world traveller, I can't express enough gratitude for the care that Wayan took for our tours and giving us a life changing trip and precious memories that I hope to build upon when we return to Bali. As two very adventurous women traveling alone, he provided all the added information and kept us safe during our entire stay. We feel incredibly honored and blessed to have visited places like the temple ceremony, his son's school, and his home compound and village, along with the authentic crafts and artisan villages that he supports. We loved seeing the "real" Bali and meeting the generations of families who share their generations of knowledge and products for those interested in having that kind of experience. Wayan asked if there were any suggestions that we could give and honestly, there is only one to have greater internet access for both Mac and Pc owners. However, I say that reluctantly, because a huge part of the charm and beauty of the Swallowhouse lies in being able to really unplug and become immersed in the culture and experience of Bali. There will always be travelers who need the upscale comforts but let them go to the big hotels ~ you honestly don't want that kind of person staying with you anyway ~ that comes from my years of working at The Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons! (high maintenance people are not fun!)

“Magical Home and Plush Garden was Superb!!” Our family of 5 stayed at the villa and it was very comfortable and the setting was magical. We had 3 teenagers with us and the layout worked out beautifully. We were very looked after by Made and the breakfast was delicious. Still in awe that Made put our luggage on her head to walk us through rice fields. Just steps away is a restaurant Yellow Flower that we highly recommend if you stay here. Barbara was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for activities and she always answered my questions very quickly. We loved it here and hope to go back some day!!???

“Paradise called Villa Sagitta” We loved the garden paradise called Villa Sagitta – thank you so much Robert and his wonderful team for helping make our stay so special. The architecture, art works and magnificent views of the gorge are really a special experience – we’ll remember this place with great affection. “Awesome!” Villa Manis is so beautiful! Very close to centre 15min walk yet quiet location. The villa design incl interior is awesome, Mary Lee has definetly a good taste and talent, with attenion to details - everything you need are there and she made herself available to queries, so no need to worry about anything. Surely I'd like to return back whenever visiting Ubud.

“My little dream home in Penestanan” When I think of the thousands of homes and villas available for rent in Bali, I still don't know how We got lucky enough to find this particular one. Hyacinth House was everything We had wanted it to be and more. It is a place that you love more and more every day until it gets to the point that you have no idea how you're ever going to leave. We fell in love with the house and then we fell in love with the staff. Our beautiful Ketut we miss you so very much. Your wonderful breakfasts, the way you kept the house so beautiful and clean, the way you watched over us and cared for us...these are the things we will never forget. Pia..you are a darling girl, so bright, so clever..thank you for everything you did for us and Made your quiet grace is utterly charming. Thank you all so much. Every day we would wander off exploring and I can't tell you how wonderful it was to return to lovely clean house. The bedroom upstairs OMG!!! It's just beautiful!! The outdoor shower down stairs won us over from day one and we never once used the other bath and shower. One night it rained and I still chose the outdoor shower...it's just so invigorating. We went in August / the weather was divine...in a 12 night stay we only put the overhead fan on two or three times. Penestanan gets the most beautiful breezes. If you want a place to chill out, just relax and enjoy, pull up a chair, take a nap on the day bed or a swim in the pool then Hyacinth House is for you. If you want adventure put your shoes on and go for a walk...everything's there! Want to eat out?...there are many places close by, we went to the local cafes all the time. The Elephant Cafe, Lala & Lili, The yellow Flower Cafe...So many to choose from. Ibu Putu's Warung( our favourite,) is two minutes from your door. Want to sit around and have a chat..the outdoor living area will suit you just fine...we loved sitting there with our early morning coffees. We adored this little house and will be returning in 2015. Until then stay safe Ketut, Pia and Made., may the Bali Gods smile on you every day until we meet again.:)

“Absolutely wonderful!” The Harmony Villas are really top rate. All of the services provided were excellent. All of the staff was attentive without being over bearing. Breakfast was cooked each morning in the villa; cars were arranged for transport to town whenever we wanted. Harmony Villa is located about 5 minutes away from all of the action in Ubud. The location was peaceful and quiet, but excitement was right around the corner if that's what you wanted. The views of the rice fields were hypnotic. The infinity pool was refreshing. Loved everything and cannot wait to return!

“Just the break we needed” Thank you so much Barbara, Henry and Pia, for a wonderful stay in your wee bungalow. At a stressful time in our lives, your bungalow, the surroundings of Ubud and Bali itself, provided a much needed respite. Your recommendations of the lovely driver "Blue" and the local eating spots were ideal. Loved the outdoor shower, and everything we needed was provided for. Wine glasses in the bungalow would be helpful but we did have access to them in the larger house, so not really a problem. very comfortable bed and great breakfasts each day. Hope we can return some day.

“Absolutely Charming !!!” This is the second time my daughter and I have stayed at The Garden Cottage and it was just as beautiful as the first. We were greated by Mary the owner as well as Wayan and Made her adorable staff. There was a huge platter of tropical fruit waiting for us as well as a gorgeous arrangement of flowers. The villa is spotless and was cleaned every day. We were always supplied with drinking water which was very much appreciated. The outdoor shower is heaven! The pool is very clean and well maintained and we spent many afternoons relaxing there. The surrounding gardens are so lush we took many photos to look back on. Our balonys overlooked a beautiful rainforest which was just amazing! Again we were very sad to leave this little piece of paradise to say goodbye to Mary,Wayan and Made our "Bali family". We will certainly be back. Thank you all.

“Our own space to do what we want and when we want” I was looking for a villa in Ubud which gave me privacy plus no communal living like a resort.Well this is the complete package of a beautiful Balinese villa set amongst the rice fields with the most amazing views.To wake up to the views every morning with freshly brewed coffee and a sumptuous breakfast ,prepared by Wayan.It was hard to decide what we wanted for breakfast as the choice was varied.Deciding what to do for the rest of day was not hard.First couple of days we spent by the pool,unwinding,reading books,listening to music and grazing on a variety of food.In the evenings,we had the driver take us down to Ubud to a different restaurant every night.What can i say "simply the best holiday" when i needed oneThank you Villa Mangku

“So much better than I imagined.” A fabulous villa. Comfortable bed, everything you need to make your stay seem like home. Spent hours watching the fish in the pond and the ever changing activities in the rice fields. It was so wonderful to be in an older style villa. Gorgeous hand carved doors and window frames with ornate door and window surrounds. So relaxing it was sad to leave. Komang, the 2 Wayans and the security man made everything very easy. Komang bought for us at the market a variety of foods, fresh chicken, mangosteens and durian. Excellent kitchen if you would like to cook some meals yourself. access to the villa is very easy if you have your own car. Loved Lily the cat. Very easy going feline. Perfect swimming pool.
