“Cottage for Two” The cottage was very comfortable. The little extras ie flowers, wine, bread, milk etc provided by the owners made it even more welcoming. We had a very enjoyable week despite the ever changing weather. We would go again.

“A fantastic cottage in a great location” The cottage is warm, spacious and well-presented. It has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday - stunning views, lots of wildlife, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfy bed and one of the best collections of Dvds and books we have come across. What's more, the location is second to none - on one hand you have the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, on the other there is the stunning Lake District. We also found a number of lovely local walks in and around Kirkby Stephen. In short, a walker's paradise! We will be back soon.

“Great stay at ash Pot Barn” I stayed at ash Pot Barn with 6 other ladies. We had a great time. We couldnt fault our stay in anyway. We would definatley return, especially in Summer as it has a great BBQ area overlooking the Fells, But was cosy in the winter when we went. We walked to the Fat Lamb pub which took about 1 hour 10 mins. Secluded location but perfect for relaxing and staying in, great kitchen/living area. Bedrooms spacious and everywhere very clean.

“Wonderful apartment” Beautiful apartment lovely area ideal location.Cark House had everything we needed kitchen area was first class lovely bathroom and very clean through out what more could you ask for . Would recommend to anyone .

“Wren's nest” We were made very welcome by the owners. Wren's nest may be small but fine for two. It's in a great position for walks, cycle rides and trips around the area.

“very very wet outside snug and warm inside” had a lovely family weekend with plenty of space and room to spread out especially in light of the abundance of sofas and arm chairs. most amazing though were the views... kept the curtains open so that it was the first thing we saw!

“Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“A very peaceful location” The cottage was wonderfull, we had a warm reception when we arrived. A nice bottle of wine and some fresh free range eggs awaited us. The countryside and surrounding areas were very pleasant & peaceful. The town was only a matter of 10mins drive away & it was easy to explore the area and further afield. All in all a very good week.

“perfect location, perfect accommodation” This is a perfect cottage for two. It is surprisingly spacious, with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating, exceptionally large bathroom with plenty of hot water. It is spotlessly clean. The added bonus is the parking space and proximity to ambleside. Wifi would have been the icing on the cake but there were plenty of wifi cafes and pubs in ambleside. The booking procedure and key arrangements were straight forward. We loved it and will be going back later this year

“Cottage in great location for access to Lake District and Dales” Friendly owners, cottage with character, lovely bedrooms and bathroom. Kirby Lonsdale has good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Easy access to Dales and Lakes with loads to see and do. Recommend White Scar Caves, Ingleborough, Kyaking on Windermere, Lancaster Castle and walking around Buttermere.

“A superb location for country lovers” A spacious, well appointed and well located cottage set in the Lune valley. Walk just a few yards down the road and you can see the Howgill Fells and the river Lune. Although located with a few other cottages it feels private, and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We had a memorable holiday and would certainly consider staying again. Kirkby Lonsdale (a few miles away) has a good local supermarket and plenty of pubs/restaurants.

“tranquility” What can we say one of the best places we have ever stayed.Idyllic,peace and quiet wonderful host cottage clean and garden lovely.

“Fantastic!” Loved the cottage - Great area - surroundings lovely. Nice to come to the burner!!! Well equipped kitchen, coattage very clean didn't want to come home!!! I shall book again next year!

“Fabulous property in a great location” This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

“Fantastic Rental Cottage” We stayed at Swallow's nest for our anniversary in Sept 11. The interior was finished to a very high standard, it was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed buying the amazing produce of the lake district and cooking it up back at the cottage, enjoying the views as we ate. The location is good, close to Penrith town centre, and good transport links into the Lake District. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back.

“Great break after recent hospital treatment.” Good welcome pack in accommodation which was appreciated. The cottage was excellent for our requirements with a pet labrador. The location was well placed for touring Cumbria and the Lake District. Although we did not take advantage of the amenities they appeared well managed and very good. We liked the available walks through the valley especially with our dog. Although no doubt temporary ongoing contruction work made for very muddy conditions on the approach to the cottage. The settee was not the most comfortable for a weeks stay.

“Absolutely delightful!” Raceside Cottage is an absolute jewel of the Lakes! From the scrummy cakes and bread as a welcome gift, to the well thought out books and visitor leaflets for planning days out, Raceside Cottage had it all! We had a relaxing week in august including the dog - the accommodation was of the highest standard and had every utensil you could have needed. The bedrooms were cosy with plenty of storage, lovely bathroom and a great open plan kitchen/lounge. It was just a 15minute walk from the beach and the King William pub 2 mins away, does a fab steak! Although on the West coast, most visitor attractions were within easy driving.

“lovely comfortable cottage great location” we really enjoyed our time at woodbine cottage.It is centrally located, two minutes to the nearest pub! it is cosy especially with the log burner going in winter.The cottage has modern decoration and is comfortable. I would definately book again, the sykes agents was friendly and helpful.The only down side was the parking, it was a gamble whether there was space available by the cottage and ambleside has car parks but they can be expensive.Still that said, will still go back again and again.great walking and beautiful countryside any season.
