“Family Reunion 2012” When I was 9 yrs old my whole family went on a beach trip. It was great. I was able to play with my cousins. We cooked out, and enjoyed each others company. Great memories. Last year my grandmother wanted us to relive that memory but with a new generation. Our children are the same age and everyone was able to attend. The house was fantastic. Having the pool and hot tub was a life saver. It was so close to the grocery store that our cookouts were a breeze. We enjoyed the area greatly. We even were able to have a photographer to meet us and have pictures on the beach. My grandmother said it was the best time of her life. She is 83. Thank you for helping us to make such a wonderful memory for us.

“Spacious home with a great view and close to the beach” This house exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms are very spacious, the kitchen has an abundance of pots, pans and utensils. When we arrived we found a beach cart, beach chairs and boogie board - very convenient. The gas grill was great. Love the view from the captain's watch.

“Gorgeous House in a Great Location !” This house was really beautiful, especially the great room which is just breathtaking. Loved the simplicity of check in (which consisted of just arriving at the house and waiting for 4PM when the lock code would re-set to the code that had been provided to us) and check out (which consisted of leaving :) We had a "furniture malfunction" on our last day there, but OBB just came and picked it up to take it for repair, no questions asked. The only downsides to the house are: #1)the hot tub (which, frankly, shouldn't even be advertised as an amenity because it's just one of those "temporary" kinds (but looks like it's been there a long time) This was not a real issue for us, however, as we are not big hot-tub users. #2) Food storage area...there's no real pantry. We moved pots and pans around to make some room for food. #3) The thermostat for the bedrooms on the main (great room) floor are outside of the bedrooms and, thus, regulates based on the temp in the great room rather than the bedrooms themselves. No big deal once you figure out how you need to "offset" the temp. After the first night we knew what to do and it wasn't a problem. None of those three problems were deal breakers for us, though, because the house is just so gorgeous, the beach in front of the house is uncrowded (in early august,prime season, we didn't have any other people set up on the beach closer than maybe 50 feet from us) and the location is great with regards to proximity to grocery store, the walking/biking trail to Duck, etc. There is also an elevator that actually works, not that we used it for anything other than groceries. We hope to rent this house again next year !

“The perfect house for a crowd...” This house is so accommodating. Great gathering spaces and great quiet spaces (for when your sibling gets on your last nerve). “Very comfortable” The home was amazing, and the owner Anna had so much extra stuff there for your use that you wouldn’t think it was a rental!! Would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to all my friends!! Our favorite thing was the huge king size pillows!! We love simple things in deed!!

“Lovely southern home with all amenities” This is the second time I have stayed at Saltaire and is the first time with my husband and son. What a terrific time it was. This place is just incredible. From the private pool and hot tub to a massive "man cave" complete with pool table, foosball, darts and more. My husband turned into a kid again playing with my son into the wee hours of the morning. Above all else, because Saltaire is pet-friendly, we were able to take our two Porties with us who made those long walks on the beach the absolute best. I can't recommend Saltaire enough if you are looking for an exquisite place to "call home" while on vacation in the Outer Banks!
