“Lovely holiday experience in Cornwall.” All our family had a great time spent down South. Accommodation was ideal for all of us and also for different times of the day. We had everything available to us in the kitchen and living room was very cosy and spacious. It was a great location for visiting places of interest and also quite. I would come back again to the same cottage and recommend it to friends as well.

“Peaceful and tranquil” Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners of the cottage, lovely people, they gave us a guided tour of the premises and left in the kitchen was a bottle of wine and chocolates, a lovely thought. The house was very comfortable, spacious, home from home, ideal for a large family, pets are welcomed with open arms. Linen provided in abundance, conservatory overlooks wonder views of the forest like setting, lots of ground to the property, all round a fabulous place for a holiday. The location is great as a starting place to explore Cornwall, if you don't mind walking, there is a nice walk down to the village shops, pub which serves very good food, supermarkets are but a short ride away. Restaurants, places to visit are easily reached from here, great as a base. The house is full of games for children, if you are a book worm, there are loads of books to read. The kitchen is well equipment, AGa stove takes a little getting use to if not used before, there is also a convensional cooker in the utility room, you couldn't want for anything else. The whole holiday was fantastic, the only minor dislike about the property is that the kitchen is a little on the dark side if the sun is shining into the conservatory, other than that there is nothing to be found fault with this property what so every, plus it is being extended to cater for even bigger families. Ground floor facilities would be ideal for someone who has difficulty with negotiating stairs, albeit not steep stairs, very slight climb. It also holds a small gym upstairs for those who are fitness freaks and miss their daily workout. You wouldn't wish for more.

“A comfortable and relaxing break” Despite the weather we had a super break. The cottage proved an ideal centre to explore the region. It was warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. The owners were friendly and helpful and had left a lovely cream tea to welcome us on our arrival. Top marks for this holiday let!

“A lovely well-equipped cottage with a garden which overlooks the” The owners of the cottage live next door and were very friendly and extremely helpful. On our arrival,we found the cottage well-stocked with provisions (tea, coffee, bread, cereals etc.)The cottage has plenty of car parking space and a really good LCD television set with a DVD library. The only difficulty we had was in finding the cottage as the instructions we were given are rather 'sketchy'. We thought these should be rather more detailed. The cottage is conveniently located reasonably close to the town centre and roads to the major holiday centres.A large asda supermarket is also very accesible. Although the weather was a bit mixed,we really enjoyed our stay and had plenty of time to enjoy the facilities of the cottage, particularly the garden where we had quite a few picnics. The service we received from the Syke's management when booking the holiday was excellent-friendly and efficient.

Comfortable with lovely sea view

The sea view attracted us and this did not disappoint. The garden is a winning factor as it is much larger than in the photos .We have never in the many years we have stayed in self catering- home and abroad- had so much provided as that by Marilyn& Tom.We were lucky to have over a week of wonderful weather. It was quiet and central for sightseeing etc.The owners were helpful without being intrusive.see more

Superb cottage with friendly welcome

Peaceful

Really enjoyed the locale and home itself. Very appropriate to use as base for travelling and exploring. Heating and TV were a challenge (not being a resident of England but help was available. Only detrimental thing was amount of hot water, hubby had a cool shower the first day. Oh! and putting the wet mop in one of the closets began to smell mustysee more

The Waterwheel Apartment, Charlestown, St Austell
Short break.

Apartment very clean and very well appointed with lots of thoughtful touches. Key box would not open without pushing the door in at the same time as depressing the opening key. When finding that so many toilet rolls were provided and all toiletries were provided as they are in hotels we were glad we had taken a kitchen roll with us which my wife cannot do without in the kitchen! My only criticism is that being in my eighties I found that the bed was very low and difficult to get out of having also a very soft mattress. We did however enjoy our coast path walk to Black Head and back across country a total of 7.5 miles - we tried to count the number of steps up and down on the coast path but lost count when we got into the hundreds.see more
